One thing that annoys me in Metroid Dread is that it's always something blocking the road. Even if you got a power up and thinking "great, now I can finally go and see what's behind that road block" only to find another fucking obstacle blocking the path. It kills the flow of the game sometimes, leading to checking your map all the time for other routes. Some of the items are also ridiculous to get. Like first you have to shoot a missile at a block, then bomb it, and then you discover a speed block. And then when you fix that, you fall through the floor because invisible blocks 🙄

Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R
It's on sale for $3 and back in the day I only had GGXX#R so I'm looking forward to seeing the improvements that were made to this version.

After spending more time with Yakuza Kiwami, I am convinced the gameplay was an afterthought. The combat and the minigames are supposed to have rules, but it seems like there is a lot of RNG and bad controls that makes it feel like the game is fighting you at every moment. Even some of the better minigames have this problem, like pocket circuit racer. The actual stats of the vehicle don’t seem to matter, you just try random sets of parts and hope your car doesn’t fly off course. It seems to violate rules whenever the game feels like it and your sense of agency is dimishished. To me, that is a mortal sin for a video game. Example: In one of the races, the optimal build is spiked wheels which is supposed to be for grass terrain - but that track has no grass at all. It seems like the key to victory is a random set of gear that doesn’t even make sense. Very frustrating when it amounts to trial and error with logic thrown out the window.

Think I’m gonna finish the story and just move on to something else.

Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop HD. Mixed feelings so far.
I enjoyed it quite a bit when it came out on 3DS a ways back. Also enjoyed 358/2 on DS. Guess it was just nice to have little pocket-sized versions of those games. Oddly enough, I think I enjoyed 358/2 more, as it fit the medium better -- little bite-sized missions, very little in the way of story, but tons of collecting. It also looked great at the time on the original DS -- very impressive.

Silent Hill
Just reached the resort area. Think I must be nearing the end now, judging by my playtime.

Gonne be picking one of the games below next. Not sure I'll go straight into Silent Hill 2. May gave Glass Rose a try. A point and click horror game from Capcom that I'd never heard of before.

I just bought Rage 2 after randomly seeing some gameplay. I noticed this game came out a few years ago, but the player mechanics look similar to Atomic Heart. The only thing that shows Atomic Heart came out 3 years later are the graphics. They even have the same mechanic of holding your hand out to gather resources.

I must be late to the party. I dont know how I missed this hidden gem, because its like a mix of Doom, Fallout and Mad Max.... with a little bit of Bioshock. Open world, post apocalyptic FPS with tight controls and fun gameplay. There are some technical issues(made by Bethesda) on the ps5, but its still a fun game.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Got Beat Saber today, since I want to play some games that make me sweat. Was meaning to try it for just a bit but ended up playing for three hours straight. I'll regret it tomorrow, but damn was I having fun.

Hitman: World of Assassins Freelancer mode. Completely changes the game. If it wasn't before, the 2016 to 2022 Hitman franchise (1,2,and 3), is now firmly in my top 10 greatest gaming experiences of all time.

Currently trying out Warcraft III again.
Haven't upgraded to Warcraft Refordged since i've heard bad things about it. Does anyone have experience with Reforged?

Finished Metroid Dread. This game is so good. Top quality stuff and a worthy addition to the Metroid saga. It's 2D perfection much of the likes of Super Metroid. It has all the hall marks of the franchise. Clever level design. Cool boss encounters. Oppressive atmosphere. Fast paced exploration. Power ups. The whole nine yards. I've been on a solid Metroid romp now with Dread and MP remastered and I want MOAR!

Triangle Strategy. Amazing. Infinitely better than Three Houses.

I think after this I need to check out some other Square pixel rpg. Which is the best: Tactics Ogre, Live a Live or Octopath 2?
Triangle Strategy is 100% the best.

Octopath has the best HD 2D visuals. Part 2 is great so far but I'm early. Similar visual design to TS but more tricks on lighting and art design.

Live A Live feels like an older retro game in design, but is still fun. Visuals seem slightly worse than the others.

Tactics Ogre is a classic obviously but I'd say wait for a sale since you just played an SRPG.

Just finished Syphon Filter. It was the first time I ever played it so I had zero nostalgia for it. I could see its age, bot some of the levels (the cathedral) were really atmospheric. I also received GTA4 in my mailbox today, so I guess that will be the next. I played some early mission on my ps3 back in the days but somehow lost interest. Problaby it would be better on pc, but I finished the episodes on ps3 so I will play the base game there.

Silent Hill
Finished. Loved it. Some of the best music and sound in any game I've ever played. Love the Silent Hill town and setting, the creatures are creepy and there's some good side characters. Think I'd give it a 9.5 or a 10/10.

Not sure if I'll go straight into Silent Hill 2 or start the first Clock Tower game.

Currently playing The Quarry. I’m in chapter 8 and while it’s not as good as Until Dawn I do enjoy my time with it.
So far only one died but knowing me I will fuck something up and accidentally kill like half of the characters.

Just hopped on THPS on PS5 for the first time.

After that, had a couple of games on Rocket League and eFootball.

Finished with a 10 minute run around on GTA.

Felt good, been struggling over the past couple of weeks to sit down and game.

Attempting a Speedrun in Resident Evil even though I hate speedruns. But I want the Samurai Edge (and rocket launcher if I can make it under 3 hours). Even though I played the game several times it feels like I'm missing out just because I run past everything, not reading any notes, not visiting all rooms. I want to immerse myself in a game, taking it slow, take in the beautiful graphics and scenery (RE looks amazing despite being 20 years old), watch cut scenes and listen to dialogue. Now I'm just skipping everything. Hopefully it's just only this run.

Just finished up MoonScars. It’s a decent melee based MetroidVania. If you liked Blasphemous, you’ll like MoonScars.

Now I’m off to play Lost in Random.

You are playing two of my absolute favorite games!

For Witcher 3, try mix in heavy attacks and use more bombs, it gives more variation to the combat. Don't just spam light attack. The combat sort of gets better if you play on hard difficultly but of course it's up to you.

For Sekiro, the parry window actually increase by quite a lot if you press and hold the block for 1/2 a second instead of tapping it. You will more likely to get the deflect that way which makes the game a good bit easier.
Appreciate the Sekiro tip I’ll keep it in mind fr. Best game I’ve played in years tbh.

TW3 yeah I hear you but I also happen to be a really big no-HUD guy and so getting deep into potions and oils and bombs and whatnot is a bit of a commitment that I’m just not sure I’m up to; would much rather stick with the clean HUD. I do use heavy attack plenty however. Like I said I hear you though; lots of people say the combat shines brightest on Death March. My thinking is that maybe by mid-game or so I’ll end up upping the difficulty, and then maybe by end-game/dlc I’ll end ip on death March. We’ll see. Cheers mate.

I've mostly been playing Midnight Suns and while the writing and general vibe is so incredibly off and weird , the gameplay is amazing. XCOM meets Slay the Spire, absolutely love it. Sometimes I'm sure many feel Japanese games have that weird tone that you put down to cultural differences.
The writing in Midnight suns feels like what would happen if you had a 15 year old Japanese Marvel fan do a fanfic story which was then translated to Russian, then to Spanish then to Korean and finally to English.

Monster Hunter Rise on the PS5. Great game, but I prefer World a bit more. Felt more hunter-like. Regardless, both are very good in their own right.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Shadow Warrior 3: Definitive Edition

It almost reminds me of Doom (in terms of sheer arcadey game play), if you can tolerate the bad writing, it's a fun game.

Finished my Speedrun in Resident Evil remake but I came in at 3:22 so I failed getting the rocket launcher. It was kinda annoying but I got the Samurai Edge which is cool, so now I'm just gonna enjoy two full playthroughs with Chris and Jill before attempting another go at the Rocket Launcher. Awesome game btw, I never get tired of this game. It rocks so much 🤟

Beat it. Got the last boss on the second try after almost killing him the first go. After a certain boss in the mid-game, the game is pretty easy. I enjoyed it but don't think it's as good as Nioh or Nioh 2. Not sure I'll bother with new game +. May be tempted by the DLC, though. Gonna go back to Nioh 2 shortly.

Silent Hill 2
Only played for an hour. The sound design, atmosphere, and creatures are all a step above the first game. Been listening to the theme/intro between games.

Just finished Ghost Song. Loved the combat, art style, and exploration. Didn't care as much for the writing but I don't really play metroidvanias for the story so it didn't hurt my enjoyment at all.

The Outer Worlds Spacer's Choice Edition, the game runs ok for me, there are some stuttering now and then and the fps goes from 40 all the way upto over a 100, but mostly it's about 60 and above, i can still play it fine, not great, but fine.

Ive noticed game play changes too, i had to turn the difficulty up as the combat is a lot easier especially with companion's and i've got a lot more money than in the original, must be due to the level cap rise, and the graphics do look good although at times it's just an explosion of colour.
