The execution concept behind Heavy Rain is that of a reworking a classic P&C adventure, with modern technology. Sure, more game elements could be added in terms of puzzles, but to suggest that the concept is void of being a game, is as wrong as it would be to say that something like Monkey Island is not a game.

I enjoyed playing Heavy Rain through once. Its style of gameplay is still near the bottom of the list of ways I would like designers to explore ambitious video game narrative.
I totally agree. I've tried to do a second run through the game, months after the first one, and I couldn't get past the first two hours.
It was an enjoyable experience. Once.

Until Dawn, yeah I'd like to see this move survival horror game. The few snippets we saw way back really intrigued me.
Yeah, no other game is more boring than Heavy Rain.

Or you, the player, will be the fungus itself, guiding the hero towards the goal. Which is also the ending of the game. Basically reinforcing the whole "you have lost control over yourself".

it'd be nice if the game have branching paths making you think you're choosing your own fate and action, but in the end, no matter what choices you make, you end up doing what the fungi want anyway.
From what I get, this fungus infection happens in nature so that one species doesn't get the upper hand over the others (so that there is not too many of them), so nature keeps the balance of things. amazing.
Now if we take into consideration what is happening in present day and problem with over population, in 50 years to almost double 12+ billion. So maybe nature develops similar brain fungus for humans since there is too many of us? and in the game you have to survive this chaos that is occurring around you?

very ignorant thing to say. But I guess you played every single game out there, so you are qualified to speak on the subject.
Obviously i'm not talking about the whole gen, only about the games i had played. And it's my opinion, you dont have to share it

i actually finished heavy rain. I began my descent into self mutilation 3/4 of the way through LA Noire
L.A. Noire. Plot holes aside, Heavy Rain was at least remotely interesting all the way through and didn't last 20 hours.

Just noticed the date at lastofus.com site is the 70th Anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attacks. Makes the attack on the U.S. theory even more plausible, I think.

Hmm good point. When I saw growth 2 I thought Uncharted as well. Thought it might be related to the upcoming map pack or something since it was on PSblog. But with the the second image, I guess they're just trying to say "TREES!"

In Aus it is.
It will be in Europe CET in about 40 minutes. When it was first relvealed i think it was about 2 in the morning over here. I woke up and checked my PC for a few minutes and then noticed thread and all the hype on twitter, stayed up like a nerd for next hour reading shit instead of sleeping knowing that I had to go to work in 2 hours.
