Halo: Reach |OT7| What are They to Say Now?

Where is this discussion on the HaloGaf cycle? :lol

The HaloGAF cycle needs updating.

It did not take into factor that there would be a chance that people would hate a Halo game and have nothing to say about it. Therefore, we would talk about.. lesbians and other random stuff.

My friend once read the last sentence of the last Harry Potter book before I'd finished:

"The scar had not pained Harry for nineteen years. All was well."

He didn't understand why I got very, very angry at him.
I was convinced Harry was going to die.

So yes, I consider what you posted a spoiler.

"She eats food, talks to people, and rides horses."

No shit. Everyone in this book does that.

"She fingers one of her servants in a lesbian scene later on in one the other books."

Uh, WHAT? I did not see that coming. So much for saving that nice surprise...

That epilogue in Harry Potter 7 was so painfully awful.

So sorry to cut in on this intense discussion, but just finished Halo 2 campaign again.

"Sir, finishing this fight!" -> credits

At least I don't have to wait years in between to get to H3 again.

Was actually quite enjoyable, other than no bumper jumper.

best part of CE:A was the inclusion of bumper jumper. i only made the switch from recon a couple months ago and I feel like i had been missing out on some huge secret. props to whoever made me switch...hydra? xand? cant remember.

So, started H3; love that first mission. Its a nice leisurely stroll through the game on heroic with thunderstorm on. Also looks amazing with the new settings I am running on the TV.

Also, first chieftain in Rat's nest, hit him with plasma overcharge and killed him before they even knew I was there ;)

Love the BR, but one thing I was confused about: they made the DMR because they wanted another single shot weapon? But we already had one, and it was called the carbine; and it also didn't have shitty bloom.

Well I think they went single shot because the BR was only ever burst because of the internet standards and netcode of the time of Halo 2. With the burst, each single bullet is registered as its own, so if you lose a shot due to packet loss, you might only lose one-third of that shot and the other two would still register. As we have of course made huge strides in internet standards and devs ability to write better netcode, they decided they could go back to single shot.

Single shot is way better as well!

Too bad its boring and sounds lame.

Singleshot is more consistent and takes more skill....

But the burst fire BR was so much more fun to shoot and much more satisfying...

Solution would be just have both in the game, a burst and single shot weapon (gee already had this didn't we...). If MLG or someone wants to only have the single shot gun on a map, so be it.

The H3 BR sounds weaker than a air-soft gun.

The DMR has it's faults (the bloom, arguably the 3x scope), but single shot is not the problem.

Can't agree with this either. Don't understand the want to add weapons in duplicate sandbox roles just to shits. Pick one and go with it. I would much prefer single shot guns, but if Halo 4 has a burst fire main gun, the standalone fact of it being burst or single shot will not make or break the game.

At some point, developers should go with their vision of the game instead of trying to literally provide everything for every different person's desire. When they do that, the game becomes so fragmented over the tons of modes and weapon sets that I think the overall core gameplay suffers from it. That's just my opinion on that though.

I have no strong preference between the DMR and BR functionally speaking -- but sound wise, DMR is the clear winner.

I think you guys need bigger speakers.

And if Anniversary is any indication, I think a new BR would sound just fine.

The sound effects in Reach are pretty great all around. I remember the BWU with the sound effects and everyone was going gaga over the gun sounds. Now we have people saying the DMR sounds lame.

I think the DMR sounds fine, I just like how a burst weapon sounds better.

I don't know if Bungie did it intentionally but it seems like the starting weapons from each game were softer than the pick up weapons. I know if I was making a game, I'd probably make the more common ones less annoying for other people to listen to.

See also: Halo 2 SMG versus Halo 3 SMG. Imagine the H3 SMG being shot all the time in Halo 2.. you'd never be able to play with the sound up.

I always wondered how that would work out. Does that mean 3/4 shot unscoped, 9/12 shot scoped? Because if yes, fuck that.

I assume it would mean that scoped rounds are more accurate and due to UNSC magic more powerful. 5-6SK when scoped.

If i can snag the beta from somewhere i might make a video of it for GAF

There are millions of whiny 5-year olds on Earth, and I AM THEIR KING.
Was Atlas taken off the Android store? I purchased a couple days ago, and was going to try and see if I could get a refund but I cannot find it anymore. Atlas on Android is not functional. It takes only half the scren of my phone, doesn't register icon presses and loads each map incredibly slow. I feel ripped off. I am happy it got taken off the store, it was such a rip off for any potential costumer, but I want my $5 back barely on principle.

Also, I normally would be more patient with a product coming from 343i, but the performance of the CEA online coop has made me lose my patience. The online coop in Halo CEA is unplayable due to lag. I guess it's using the network code from the original game and sending all the information without any sort of prediction logic, much like Xbox Connect did. Shit is awful.

These two things have made me lose a great deal of faith in 343i. Hopefully they treat Halo 4 with more respect and hold themselves to a higuer standard.

Halo fact or fiction: Pumping the trigger with the AR increases it's effective accuracy.

I felt like this was definitely the case in Halo 3, I think it's BS in Halo: CE, and I can't tell in Reach. Sometimes it feels like I have an advantage on spray-and-pray players at slightly longer range, other times I feel like I'm wasting time.

Thoughts?

100% true in 3 and Reach. It has a better 'feel' in Reach, though. Burst fire!

I remember playing GAF customs a month or more ago and someone on the other team asked in the post game lobby "who put Stopping Power on fyrewulff's AR?"
