Halo: Reach |OT7| What are They to Say Now?

What's funny to me is the older people who say the prequel trilogy is fun for kids were kids when the original trilogy came out and that's when they fell in love with SW. All of the movies are child like really, I don't see the problem. I was pretty young when Episode 1 came out, and I loved it at the time, it's not held up that well, but it still has the best lightsaber duel. :p

I liked the original Star Trek TV show with Shattner for its cheesiness, but the other stuff, meh.
I was eleven when The Phantom Menace came out. I ate that shit up. Watched it three times in theaters, read the novelization, played the video games, bought the action figures.

Today, I would gladly spend an entire weekend watching the theatrical version of A New Hope over and over again, but I will never willing sit through The Phantom Menace.

My future children will grow up thinking George Lucas died in 1989 after finishing Willow and the third Indiana Jones movie.

Hovering over the button to get my ticket now...debating on if I should or not.
DO IT. I will be there autographing 8"x10" glossy headshots.

HEY DAX HEY DAX HEY DAX

Season 1 of Deep Space Nine is one of the worst seasons to a television show EVER.

It got a lot better though.

IF S1 of DS9 is "one of the worst seasons to a television show EVER" then so is every other first season of any Trek series because DS9 has the best first season out of any of 'em (with the possible exception of TOS).

This is one of the reasons why.

So only a few of you will go? Not more? I don't want to walk through the expo halls and eat alone. Or am I doomed to be forever alone? *dramatic music*

Looks like I'll consider PAX prime again. (PAX East still has the better date for me)

If I'm going to go eastward I think I prefer to hold out for any hope of an HBO LAN over a PAX that gets the leftovers of Prime. Can't afford to go to the least coast twice in one year.

To make this Halo Related, the best way I can put it is that I think Halo 3 has the best multiplayer, a lot of you would say no way, I'm wrong, that is Halo 2.

Yeah I enjoy the Star Wars Prequels, episode two is alright, and I think One and Three are Great, I don't think they are on the same level as the first two Star Wars movies though.

I loved Indy 4, I think it was true to the spirit of the time it took place in, and Indiana Jones as a series. It was exactly what Indiana Jones should be, I think Lucas and Spielberg did a great job with it. I laughed at the fridge scene, I thought the swinging vines was a little weak, but that's hardly detectable from the movie as a whole.

The moral of the story here... is that bloom is bad.

The price difference is surprisingly small. But PAX East is during my spring break. So it is perfect to fly. PAX prime instead. I think a bigger amount of Gaffers will go. And I can finally try out some of Ghal's candies, the best omelet according to Domino and eat at Wing Dome. And the developer presence will be much higher. Otherwise I still have the GamesCom to cry in front of the 343i guys for a hoodie. (I suppose they will cancel their GamesCom plans after this comment)

I agree with you in terms of last PAX East.

But they also found out PAX East gets significantly more people. Hopefully this means a bigger showing from devs and pubs.

But totally for a LAN.

Also Hyper, there are a lot more people.

Someone should start compiling an official list of confirmed and maybe. HaloGAF.com mebe?

I'm from Europe. I would prefer to go only to one of them. My goal of 2012 is to meet a lot of Halo-Fans as possible. I want to meet the French fans, the birtish fans and the German fans. Especially the last one I want to enlighten that 343i isn't shitting on the Halo plot and that the books are good. So I'll be at a lot of events or lans I hope. :p

Added you to the list.

Thanks.

(psst. I didn't wanna say it but I thought the same thing)

Indy 4 was one of the few times I have ever been angry after seeing the movie in theaters. Transformers 2 levels of bad, only in that case I had lower expectations and could laugh at the absurdly inane sequences. Clearly we have completely different mindsets for these types of films. Agree to disagree.

Prime
+ Lines up with dev schedules a little better (at least for big ticket Fall/Holiday releases).
+ Convention center is closer to downtown than Boston (easier to find somewhere to eat nearby).
+ Benefits from being the "original" PAX, closer to more dev studios.
- Washington State Convention & Trade Center is pretty much at max capacity.

East
+ The BCEC is HUGE. No capacity issues yet, plenty of room to expand.
+ Attendance numbers have matched Prime's, so devs won't undervalue East.
- Have to take a cab if you want to get downtown.

I wouldn't say East gets Prime's leftovers. Besides, the games on the showfloor really aren't that important to me. IMO, PAX is about the people. Three days of just standing in line with like-minded nerds would be worth it.
If I get to meet a new batch of people and make new friends = WIN.
If I get to catch up with friends I haven't seen in the 6 months since Prime = WIN.

-------
I'll see about setting up a PAX list page on halogaf.com, should help with hotel sharing, etc. An event page on the Facebook group will also be handy for coordinating meetups. I'll make one closer to the actual date, it's a bit early for that now.

I feel like there's a good TimeDog joke to be made here, but I'll wait until I put my own pic up as my avatar before poking fun at wwm0nkey. It's only fair.

Just to make things easy:

http://halogaf.com/pax

You fucks better be there. You guys know how unpopular Halo is in the outside world.

You either get called out for being a fan of a tasteless generic boring babby's first casual shooter

or

you get called out for liking a cartoony outdated childish gay unrealistic shooter.

So lets rep Halo in force.

And 343 better be there

If you haven't play reach today, who else wants to see how far they can go into 2012 without playing halo?
I've only played a few games of Reach this year so far, so I'm in.

I haven't played Reach, so do count me in jokes aside

Haha I went a couple months a while back without playing.. and now I play pretty frequently. I'm enjoying the BTB Anni playlist but it's just about all I play (except for Grifball on occasion for challenges). I get the "urge" to play Headlong often so it may be difficult for me..

Although, I do see my love for Timberland and Headlong wearing off soon. Wish Highlands came up more.. or at all (I know.. I know.. I still love it)

Hadn't played in a couple of days.. so maybe in.

I haven't played Reach since the 5th of October. I'm loving me some Halo Anniversary (single player) right now though :D

I too, am going to see how far I can go into 2012 without playing it!

Playing Batman: AC and Deux Ex: HR, so that fills up my limited time. Gotta play other games, because there is more awesome in the world then Haloz.

lol

They had a respectable showing at PAX East last year - and that was just for the Defiant Map Pack. No worries, man.

Hype increased.

Did not know they were at East last year.

My highest hope is that they have playable Halo 4 Beta Multiplayer. It's in the spring, which would mean around the time the Reach Beta was playable. Just speculation though. And by speculation I mean suggestions to 343. And by suggestions I mean demands.

I might pop in CEA once and again, but I imagine I'm not touching Halo until 4. With the year just starting, it somehow feels even farther away than it did before.

Just matched against APG, Formal and Heinz. My cousin/teammate decided it would be a good idea to try to impress the pros by hiding and trying to limit his deaths. We got steaked and he went 4 and 6. The rest of us had 15 deaths. Everyone has to commit to the game plan or it won't fuckin work. Not against those guys.

How did you get into Starwolf's personal picture folder on his PC?

As for playing Reach, been powering through AC Rev, got Back to Karkand to play, and I haven't even touched Skyrim for fear of it consuming me, but I won't say I won't play Reach because it is nice to hope on and play a couple of games at night and get off. Keep it short, keep it mostly rage free.

Visually (aka action/choreography)? Yeah I can see that. Emotionally? Fuck no.
