Resident Evil: Revelations - Seventh Review: Eurogamer - 8/10

I think it's the time to make an official thread, guys?

I'm still undecided on the Circle Pad Pro, Is it going to improve the experience or not?

is it known if the game had to be cut for EU(or germany)?
I saw the PEGI 16 and "FSK ab 16 Jahren" sticker on PAL boxes and it made me grumble.
I mean, RE Mercs for 3DS is 18+. I can't see Revelations being any less "brutal" or gory.

I already mailed capcom about that but they didn't even reply yet(email sent a week ago).

I guess it was for killing very human-like enemies for points in Mercs 3D.

Fifth review: Game Informer - 9/10 (also their Game of the Month)

- Delivers a console-caliber Resident Evil experience on a handheld
- Rich animations, detailed environments and solid cutscenes make this a visual stunner
- Some of the best music in the series, and disturbing monster noises help get you into the game
- Controls just as smoothly as its console predecessors, and the slick new dodge mechanic makes it even better
- A perfect blend of action and survival are driven home by a gripping episodic narrative that will have you struggling to put down your 3DS
- A story that puts the last two main series entries to shame

"Since its inception in 1996, the Resident Evil series has gradually mutated from the eerie, slow-paced horror into a guns-blazing, explosion-riddled blockbuster. Resident Evil Revelations, the newest worthwhile title for 3DS, improves the fantastic gameplay established by recent entries while rekindling the dread and survival from the earlier games. Jill and Chris' latest ordeal is the most satisfying Resident Evil experience we've played in years."

well, shit. I went from interested + pre-ordering to really excited with these reviews.

I'm still a little concerned about the repetitive enemies criticism though.

There is a dodge mechanic? For some reason I had thought it was taken out, but that's a relief. This is going to be lots of fun.

Brilliant! It's nice that this game hopefully will continue getting good reviews, but I'm anticipating greatness with or without high scores. Any word on the demo for NoA? This week, fingers crossed!

Well it's up to Capcom but NOA has been like Capcom US as of lately, and maybe they are hosting so pretty much agree 100% with your post.

Same, everything sounds sweet so far and the zavvi price with the frankenstick is perfect. Can't wait :D

I'm a little behind here, so RE:R will be supporting the 2nd analogue add-on? If so I hope I can find a bundle deal somewhere in the US...

edit - answered below me, thanks.

Revelations also incorporates deep weapon customization in the vein of Call of Duty

Oh man. If the unlock system is as addictive as it was in RE4+5, this could potential suck many, many hours away from my life. Love this stuff.

I wish I would have preordered this on Amazon when it was still $40. Since I'll probably be buying the circle pad add on thingy at the same time it makes me feel like I'm spending $70 for 1 hand held game.

Stupid Capcom!

"What about the circle pad? Personally, I didn't experience one moment in the game that left me wanting for an extra circle pad."

"The D-Pad is used to switch between all your items, a simple but useful addition when cornered by a pack of zombies. My favorite addition is the dodge ability. One well timed flick of the circle pad lets you evade enemy attacks. Out maneuvering monsters is priceless in a game where choosing your battles is both crucial and fun. Revelations also incorporates deep weapon customization in the vein of Call of Duty. Want a shotgun with augmented power, a wider spread, and gigantic clip size? No problem. Considering how precious ammo can be, tailoring weapons to your specific play style is a dream come true for survival horror fans."

Capcom's awaiting date confirmation and code approval from NoA, which seems to be in hibernation still. This is their eShop service center for game developers:

I mostly want the frankenstick for MH3G, RE:R controls will probably be fine without it

Sounds great. I'm looking forward to the deeper mechanics.

Thank heavens! Re5 was awful in so many ways!

The coupon makes this game tempting, but my money is limited. Do you guys think that it will get Club Nintendo coins? I really hope so.
