Dammit Madhouse, where is my Dream Machine?

It's canned for now. If it ever comes back, it won't be done by Madhouse. I posted about this before. Production has completely stopped because no one is paying the bills, and Maruyama left Madhouse to start up a new studio which he hopes can be used to eventually finish Dream Machine using his own funding. Until then nothing more is being done, and the official site has already been shut down.

Madhouse is dead.

I just saw the trailer on youtube (thanks duckroll)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssiKM-YCza0

Its 0:49 and its very pretty. I said before that it didn't look Sadamoto-ish from the screens but I take it back. This is basically Tokikake and Summer Wars.

The narration (and title, I guess) makes this sound like more of a story about the two kids rather than the parent (which was what the original news implied when this was announced).

It starts with narration about "the director of Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Summer Wars" and talks about a story of a family. About how two kids one born in the Snow and the other in the Rain have this big secret and they then transition to a montage of the kids running around in the snow, taking a bath, and playing with their mom. Its gonna be a family story dawwwww

It also opens on 7/21. Goddamit so far away.

Also, spoiler for the trailer in case you're super anal about this:

Couldn't she have just fallen in love with a regular person? Why does the person need to be a Wolf Guy? I...

Why?

metaphor for interracial love or other form of relationship that is taboo in some societies? Showing how a mother can love her children despite them having a cleft palate or ginger hair, or tail? Bringing tolerance where once was hate?

blah blah.

Not digging the background art during the running scene.

I loved The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Summer Wars. Are his other movies worth watching?
Digimon: Bokura no War Game is Summer Wars with a smaller cast and less boredom. The other Digimon movie is great, but pretty pointless if you haven't watched the show.

One Piece 6 is about nakama. Enjoyable.

Trailer looks good! I'm excited.

Yes. One Piece Movie 6: Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island is very, very good, and while I haven't seen his Digimon movies yet, I've heard great things about them. His short Superflat Monogram is also worth watching.

From the last time I posted here, am not longer a hosoda fan anymore, watched the "the girl who leapt through time" and I really hated it ( liked the first hour but the last 35mins was god awful forced melodrama so bad it overpowerd the good), his digimon and one piece move were great.

Someone call me when hosodo decides to make something his good at, like a beyblade movie or yugioh :p

I love his visual style, but he needs to stop using the same mediocre writer for his original movies. :\ I wasn't impressed by The Girl Who Leapt Through Time either.

If you can't watch it, don't worry, I'm on it. I just need more time!
Thanks for the help, duckroll! Using a proxy auto-config file I didn't knew it was country-blocked at first, and wanted to share it fast. Sorry!

the little framed pictures are creepy
i take it this was aired on a talk show?
looks interesting though
On a variety show... or better said, on two variety shows from the same morning block of NTV's (日テレ) weekdays; first at ZIP! or ZOOM IN PEOPLE! (ジップ!), the program successor of ZOOM IN!!SUPER (ズームイン!!SUPER) that emitted as novelty many trailers of the network's productions (mentioned in this post http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=28690522&postcount=90), and later at SUKKIRI!! (スッキリ!!).

It was pretty baffling to see how typical up-loaders of content from said programs centered its attention on posting fragments of those from the same day (and even section) starring EXILE's ATSUSHI in Taiwan, or the omnipresent random members of AKB48, rather than the footage that interests us here, on this thread... but well, it doesn't matter now...

the bike scene was so dumb, if your break don't work and your going towards the train tracks any person with any bit of commen sense would decide to fall over or crash into something else and this bike thing happens twice in the movie with different characters :)

Yeah, that was fairly stupid.

Just watched the trailer. Looks very interesting. I really love whoever does the character designs on his movies. They are so distinct a design.

I loved The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Summer Wars may be one of my favorite movies ever ( as apparent by my avatar ) so I am sure I will love this.

Just hearing about this now.
I don't know what to think.

Hope it's at least better than Summer Wars.

Also, that trailer link doesn't work in Australia. Boo!

You are not worthy to receive Hosoda's furry vision of the future.

Most people don't think with common sense when in a high stress/life or death situation.

They ain't furries =/

No posts from Ookami-kun? Very weird given this is A) a furry film, and B) a film directed by Mamoru Hosoda, a man who's done a fair share of good work on the Digimon franchise.

Hey, I just heard it from furry-gaf. I don't support kemonomimi.

Also I don't like Summer Wars.

Already did. It is more like lycanthropy with a focus on kemonomimi form than anything (yes I saw the shot of anthro form). I mean, if you advertise it with kemonomimi more prominently than anything, what else would you qualify it for?

While I hate furry stuff with a passion, this looks interesting.

I'm not familiar with this guy. He did Digimon? Well, that was a good movie anyways.

He only directed the first two segments of Digimon: The Movie. He did one of the One Piece movies and has done two other original movies.

Our War Game, and the best episode of the original series were his main contributions. Check out all of his films, you can't go wrong with any of them.

So it's about forty percent furry then?
