I'm wondering if they could have uncencored download version for the rest of EU. if the disk has to stay the same. (assuming thoes 2 countries are the ones fucking it up for everyone)

It is funny as it says not available to download in Australia and Germany on the blog, but it is in Australia (as I just downloaded it). Add the fact it passed through the classification board unscathed, and I am confident enough say it wasn't us thank Christ.

Still can't connect to a game online and I ain't even mad. Even against the AI, this game is fun as shit. Getting into Meat Wagon and having a blast (pun intented).
Or Sony doesn't want Twisted Metal to be a +18 rated game in Europe. It's illegal sell +18 games to kids in Europe.
Don't always assume it's Germany. Seriously, the censoring thing is not as bad here as it was 10 or 20 years ago. Sony published titles like God of War 3 or Resistance 3 have no problem being released uncensored here. I have no idea why Twisted Metal would be the game that needs content cuts.
Yeah Sony could be afraid of lacking sales and wants a lower rating.
As far as know, it's illegal in the US too.

Where did the "region locked servers" idea come from? The cuts seem to be in the single player, so why would the multiplayer (which isn't locked in the demo) be affected by that?
I also would like to know, I remember reading the servers would be region-free.
Prior to the content cut discussion, I'm super happy to hear such positive reception to the demo. I'll be picking it up mainly because Jaffe is one of my favourite developers and deserves my monies. I'm sure I'll have a blast though, never really played car combat games unless Destruction Derby counts. Well, and Mario Kart.
Content cuts suck though. As do delays. Don't heap the blame on Jaffe though, people who are saying "fuck you Jaffe" and such are for some reason completely ignoring the fact that he'd never want this.

Not just Sony, but ESP too. Their one release only just broke even / made a profit, so their first big title needs to sell well for them to continue as a studio. They're not a first party studio so Sony can easily drop support.

It got one big cut. The soldier in the cage was changed to a monster. But I agree, this shit shouldn't be going on.

From what i played, i can safely say it is one of the best in the series if not the best.

My basis for claiming it was that Jaffe has confirmed the game is going to have both matchmaking and old-school server lists for the players. I refuse to believe they are going to run matchmaking across the entire globe. And time will tell whether we are going to have a country selector switch inside the MP section.
Also: if they cut content that even remotely affects the multiplayer sections... Should the server side be affected as well?
so downloaded the demo, and it won't connect to a game on either game type...i just get a matchmaking error...so i think fine i'll try the single player. infinite loading screen...yeah not impressed. And now i discover the UK version will be censored, content cut and delayed...sorry buy i tried, I really did.

Probably not, as they'll likely be cosmetic things, like blood splatter and the like. Maybe blood on the screen and that stuff.

Jaffe specifically said in yesterdays interview that it wasn't. He also said the cuts are nothing like Black, the whole story is intact, still sucks but hey... you can always import.
Can you please link to that interview/article where it was confirmed. I did my background fact check and all I could gather was that the game should feature a server browser (though we do not know whether that has multiple regions) and matchmaking (no further information either).

It was said by Jaffe himself and Justin(?) on yesterdays inverview on Tinychat, I was there, as were many gaffers.
He also confirmed that Alex will be available for Unlock to everyone after 1 month or so, EU SE version will have EU version of Black and some other stuff I don't remember.

It already has a PEGI 18+ Rating.
But since people seem to be running around like chicken little claiming the sky is falling
- Germany has strict laws on games regarding their content
- Sony may be doing a late submission to the British Board Of Classification to get a video 18 rating (Which is better protection from controversy than the PEGI rating)
Those are likely the stumbling blocks that cause a delay.
As well with Black, a mental health charity in Britain caught wind of it and had a bit of a problem with a game where a man gathers together a bunch of mentally ill patients at a mental hospital to fight to the death for their one desire and complained to Sony. Sony didn't want the bad publicity as there is a bigger stigma about mental health in Europe and cut out the cutscenes as well. Sucked, especially since the Deus Ex Machina in Black actually put them in context but you could understand at that time, being post 9/11 et all that a company might be a bit tetchy about leaving something like that in.
I honestly don't expect anything drastic in this game. Maybe a discretionary shot or two to replace something explicit in the US version, but otherwise nothing huge at this late stage.
