So I checked on the status of my Hori Screen Protector and Amazon has totally dropped the ball. It originally had the shipping date as 2/7/12, but now it is 2/22 and you can't get release date shipping. I'm getting the First Edition and will now be without a screen protector. Does anyone know if any stores will be selling them on 2/15?

Amazons release dates can be screwy at times. Theyll estimate "3-5 weeks" and then ship out the item the day you place the order. Its happened to me more than once. I cant say if this is the case here but it might be.

Im also wondering about their estimated ship date for the PDP Case. Everyone else is shipping them already but Amazon has the 29th listed as their ship date. I really dont want to go a week without a case so I might cancel and get elsewhere if Amazon doesnt ship it soon.

Some questions..

-Is there a US deal that gives a free 8GB card or price discount, similar to what Europe gets?
-Is the Sony screen protector really that bad compared to the Hori one?
-Can I download EUR PSN Purchases on my Vita, and play them from my US account?
-USB charging works by default?

If you pre-order the Launch Bundle for $299, it does include an 8GB card, among a few other additions if you plan on enabling the 3G service.

The Sony Screen Protector isn't bad, but the Hori protector covers the entire front of the system, and from what I've seen, is pretty easy to install

-No, I believe the memory card is tied to the account, so if you want a Europe PSN account, you will need a separate memory card just for that account. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here.

Yes, I believe USB charging works by default. However you can change the setting if you wish.

I noticed that Hori Screen protector on the Amazon.fr store, but thought it was a special model. I'd actually prefer if it just covered the screen.. but I trust Hori in delivering quality products.

Thanks for the help!

is it just me, or does it seem funny that for all of the talk about how expensive the 32g cards are and how many people are passing on them, they seem to be on tops for "best selling" lists (Amazon, Best Buy). plus, the stories of them selling out quick at the japanese launch.

i pre-ordered mine at gamestop, i may get in there early to make sure i get one.

not that anyone cares, i have a first edition bundle coming, along with Uncharted and the 32g card.

debating on picking up virtua tennis 4, any impressions on it?

also, was looking at modnation, but i suck at racers, and the previous versions were too difficult for me. i know....want funnier, i drive just as bad IRL. is it easier? i need like mario kart difficulty.

I'm hoping Toys R Us will have the 32GB on launch day. I got a gift card from there, and that's all I need to pick up from them.

9 days till the First Edition Bundle. I'm so excited, I wish I could go get it today.

First time poster...Been reading these forums for years.

Anyway the PS Vita looks like everything I have ever wanted in a handheld but feeling like it is too little too late with smart phones being so powerful now.

Why should I still want a PS Vita? In a world of smart phones and tablets.

Better games, better controls? There's enough information available in this thread for you to make a decision without having to be told.

EDIT: That sounds snarkier than I meant it to be. Seriously though, just read the OP if you don't see a benefit from it then perhaps it's not for you.

Why should you want a PS3 in a world of personal computers and laptops?

Did you not see the thread on the front page saying that 3DS is the fastest selling Nintendo console (or maybe console period, i wasn't sure) of all time? Dedicated portable gaming-systems are not dead. The Vita is more powerful than any smartphone or tablet right now, and it has the advantage of being made specifically for games (two analog sticks, dpad and face buttons). You will get smartphone/tablet style cheap games through Playstation Suite, but you'll also get the big console-style games developed specifically for the Vita; the kind of games you won't be able to get on smartphones and tablets because of a completely different market mindset (cheap games, relatively cheap budgets).

Of course, the Vita is not for everybody. If a portable game to you means a simple touchscreen-based game, then a smartphone or tablet will be a better option, because they have some great games for them in that regard. If you want more out of portable gaming, then the Vita is a very good choice.

I agree with you I just need to convince myself that there is enough value there to justify the cost and to have another system to add to my growing collection.

Also that is why I joined this thread is I am still undecided.

The logical response would be that if none of the launch games have sold you on buying the system, then you should wait until the are titles compelling enough to pay the admission price.

I personally see value in Wipeout 2048, Uncharted, Army Corps of Hell, Gravity Rush, and Escape Plan. So my decision to purchase the system at launch was an easy one, in addition to being very impressed with the specs of the hardware itself.

I agree with your overall sentiment, but surely the bolded is not true? I hear the Apple stuff is kinda... popular.

The FEB isnt really worth it.

Little deviants looks like a turd ill play for 5 mins.

Only reason i bought it is because i got uncharted ,a 50$ game for free because i ordered it.

SO basically the case and little deviants are free for me , i shall be trading in little deviants quite swiftly - since it will be worth over 8$ trade in i shall use it towards a new vita game at eb games to get the most out of it (i heard it was 15$ trade in , but usually they have trade 2 and get a game for 10$ or something , get a little more at least)

Most likely gonna get shinobido 2 if its good , barring that i would get blazblue.

Too bad theres no launch FPS , does uncharted have ANY kind of mp? I must look this up

Did they take out ALL coop for rayman btw? Is there at least Ad-Hoc mp?

Edit : BLah , neither uncharted or rayman have any multi - looks like ill beat uncharted 2x or so then trade it in - dissapointing...hsg best have online...IT does! SWEET.

We shall need another GAF tourney for the new hot shots , wheres astrolad ? =P

i look at little deviants (didn't buy it, comes with 1st ed bundle) like welcome park v2......mini games, show off the features. i'll give it a run through, then i'll use it as a tech demo when i show it off to family and friends and after that.........

i may hang on to it, for quick need to kill a few moments moments
