Used to love GOW, but am really kind of burned out on it. I just recently rented The Origins Collection from Gamefly because I never got the chance to play the games on PSP, but found myself hating the fixed camera and just getting bored with it. I'll still end up playing GOW 4, but am honestly not excited about yet another entry in this series.

This, I played through the first 2 HD editions and started the 3rd but have not gone back since defeating the first boss. I think I am already fatigued on the series. The graphics are nice but the combat is not engaging enough for me. I prefer aspects of Castlevania Lord of Shadows more even, like how I am forced to aggressively attack enemies when I am left with an inch of life because that is the only way to regain HP.
That was the best puzzle in the series.

Also, I never really had much of a problem with the combat. Easy enough to pickup and play and challenging enough to whoop your ass on the harder difficulties.

Kratos would be so historically misplaced in Norse or other foreign mythology. It would be just awkward seeing this greek brute, fighting something so different.
I'd think its best they stick to something similiarly recognisable. Roman mythology has many counter parts to greek mythology which makes more sense.

Anyway, I'm replaying GoW3 right now and am always up for GoW as long as they still have ideas. It's one of the rare series where I don't really need the formula to change, the spectacle and satisfying combat are enough for me.

Why not? If it's a game about fighting mythological creatures, it'll be a GoW to me. Just because the mythology isn't the same doesn't make it a different IP.
I hope this means a spin-off on Vita. I've enjoyed those more than the main entries aside from 2.

Roman mythology is pretty much the same as greek. Romans basically went all Gameloft on the Greeks, IIRC.
