OMG, the Circle Pad Pro feels GROSS!

This is why I'm waiting for the 3DSLite. I've tried the CPP and I just don't like it, it feels way too bulky and awkward.

I also hate how the device plugs the hole of the stylus, so you can't put your stylus back unless you take off the device.

Sorry, your name is just too perfect for this thread.

The thing about it is there's no recourse in taking it back. I want to be sure that I like it before I buy it, and if I hate it (like the OP or others have stated) then I'm out money on it.

Yeah, I would say try it out from a friend that has it but it could be hard finding someone you know in person that has a 3DS let alone the crazy attachment.

Just got mine in the mail
Slapped it on and booted up the RE demo (Yet again)

...holy shit

This thing is nasty! =(

I was pretty excited about it, especially after that Eurogamer review (which i'm responsible for posting none the less).

In reality, it's an ergonomic nightmare. It feels like a bulbous tumor and to top it off, it REALLY makes me skeptical of the WiiU if the final is indeed going with slidepads.
They feel like total poopoo. Huge deadzone, overshooting constantly. No real sense of footing at all.

I mean, i'm a bit amused as I now I have this completely useless piece of plastic and it's sort of a novelty at this point, but man, what happend Nintendo =(

Well, basically you're full of shit.

d'awwwwwl. You must have adorable baby-hands.

Pretty much what I thought when I first saw the pics for the thing.

It actually is quite comfortable.

Maybe somebody can make a thread stating the opposite, if personal opinion threads are cool?
I wasn't taking purchasing advice, I sold my 3DS after I had me way with Mario, I'm not going to buy a CPP, it's a shame the OP got burnt is all.

EDIT: Not for any great reason, I'll rebuy one once a twin stick version comes out.

Dual analog controls are a joke and have been holding back gaming for years. Play with the gyro controls, you'll have a much better experience with them.

Circle pad is great.

LoL at the people in this thread getting swayed by ONE man's opinion.

Well, basically you're full of shit.

:lol

no one gets as defensive as the nintendo faithful

anyways it's unfortunate that the unbiased consensus seems to be that it's horrible

You want a thorough critique, hit up that review I posted from Eurogamer, okay?

I wanted to throw a gut-reaction out there. That's it.

I've read that review, it was quite well written. I'm not expecting a thorough critique, necessarily, but at least take the effort to express yourself beyond a first grade level, especially if you're going to create a thread to express your opinion. As it is, your opinion is as convincing as my cat telling me not to buy a CPP, although a talking cat would at least be impressive.
A gut reaction can still be articulate and grammatical.

There are so many things wrong with it but you do get used to it (I did with RE:R). It's still pretty horrible but does do it's job, it does add another circle pad and it does work. I don't know if it would be worth the money spent on it though. Probably not at the moment anyway even if it does make RE:R play so much better.

I wish that the 3DS had a second pad to begin with or at least the CPP was better designed.

How am I being defensive?

Did you just copy a few posts in hopes that what you were posting was going to make sense?

They basically put this thing out to solve a problem that didn't exist, developers have (and will continue to) designed games around the base hardware setup.

To me this is the same as Sony putting in Sixaxis in the last minute for fear of Nintendos motion controls. They heard that the Vita was going twin stick and they feared missing out on the action.

Both wind up being poor work. Shame.

You basically insulted my hands, when I explained my opinion on the device.

That's not cool bro :( I was explaining why I don't like it. I don't have baby hands. It's just awkward for the device... How am I supposed to put that in my pocket?

sounds nasty but other people have no issues with it.

At first it feels bulky and cumbersome. However, after a few hours of using it, it feels fine. It greatly improves the experience, especially with Resident Evil: Revelations.

As a person who has large hands, it is actually is more comfortable than playing the normal 3DS.

I could not agree with the op any less. I love the CPP. I wish the triggers worked in every game then I'd never take it off.

I heard it takes some time getting used to, but afterwards it's second nature.

Looks awful, but fits into my hands like a glove.

I love using it. As the Eurogamer reviewer said, I wish it didn't exist, but it works very well in RE: Revelations and it's comfortable past the first session. It's only when I realize that one of my fingers is in a weird position while holding it when it feels unconfortable :lol

Works very well for me.

lol at all these biased defensive console warriors

You blew up at someone solely for having a different opinion than you, then proceeded to insult what you imagined to be their sub-adequate physical features.

Yea, that's certainly not defensive.

It's true if I agree or want to agree with it...

People that like it=FANBOYS

I don't have to tell you how tired and generally false this post of yours is.

Most people like it, some do not.

Tell mommy to put it on your bag, with the milk. :p

I immediately found it more comfortable, myself. It's a damn eyesore to be sure but I don't find that it feels "omg ICKY!1!"

Edit: Sorry, didn't realise that disagreeing made me a biased fanboy! Now that you mention it my hands totally started cramping up, and when I tried to use it I threw up in my mouth a bit! Yay, I'm unbiased again!

We were making poop jokes, sweetheart.

And yeah--you have to have underdeveloped infant-hands to think it feels big.

Babyhanditis aside. I agree with the pocket point. I didn't say it was well-designed. Just comfy for those of us in the man-hand-club.

I would. I've played a lot of PSP shooters to feel the difference with the groinshot slidepad.

In all honesty, even the PSP first series' trackpad was built better than the 3DS's original pad.

Wow, I guess it's hard to get a consensus on these things because I couldn't disagree more. The 3DS slider is the best analog solution I've used on a handheld and WORLDS better than the PSP-1000 nub, a device that I unfortunately still use today. Hoping to get a cheap 3000 soon and try that out, because I enjoy the PSP's library but do not enjoy using it for long periods.

Yeah, the 3DS's Slide Pad did feel pretty crappy. If they insist on using them for the Wii U, I hope they aren't the exact same as the 3DS ones.

2000 and 3000 are better than the 1000 by far on... well, all control fronts actually. Still, it has the same surface to the analog nub rather than trying to improve it... like they did for the Monster Hunter edition in Japan. But, yeah, Vita>3DS>PSP2000=3000>1000. 1000 was one of the most uncomfortable things I've tried, I'm kind of amazed they even bothered putting that thing on.

We really needed a thread about this, because the love for the circle pad has been so strong and everyone's been gushing about it since day 1.

So it's nice to finally have some impressions from the other side of the fence for once. Sick and tired of all the love the circle pad has been getting.

Ugly girls need love too.

Having one of these days when you get "sick and tired of all the love"?

Who's to say that a 3DS lite would even include a second analog stick? The CPP is only used for a few games right now, and it isn't absolutely critical to the experience.

I had high hopes for this, but I just can't see myself carrying around an extra part for my handheld. Unfortunately most of my hand-held gaming is away from home . It's hard enough carting the system itself around. This reminds me of the headphone adapter for the GBA SP. I wish major features like this would either be included in the original design.

Only Nintendo has the fan love and the cachet to release such a thing. If Sony had tried this with the PSP it would've been laughed into the Stone Age.

I dunno, it WAS one of the most demanded additions. Even just doing what the Vita does would've probably been enough for a lot of people. I'm glad they did it properly with the Vita instead though.

And I haven't used the CPPro myself, I was only commenting on the primary circle pad above.
