The Game
Naruto Shippūden: Ultimate Ninja STORM Generations is the sequel to Naruto Shippūden: Ultimate Ninja STORM 2.

The story mode is divided between both Part I and Part II from the series,and features the younger and older version of the series' characters. The role-playing game elements from Naruto Shippūden: Ultimate Ninja STORM2's story mode were removed in favour of consecutive battles. Although it mainly focuses on Naruto Uzumaki's adventures, it will feature new sidestories lead by supporting characters such as Minato Namikaze, Sasuke Uchiha, Killer Bee, Kakashi Hatake, Jiraiya, Madara Uchiha and Itachi Uchiha.

The game features many battle improvements over its prequel: Substitution enhancements, cancels etc:

Enhancement #1: Respawning location of substitution jutsu has became farther than previous Storm games
With this adjustment, you (as an attacker) will have some time to deal with the opponent’s return attack. This is a modest change and the time is really short, but high-level players could gain more options after the substitution is performed.

Enhancement #2: Vulnerable moment after releasing Chakra Shuriken
CC2 received a lot of negative feedbacks for chakra shuriken spamming”, so we made some tweaks here. CC2′s focus in is not to make shuriken useless, so you can still experience the shuriken battle feeling. In Generations, you will not be able to keep shooting Chakra Shuriken as fast as Storm 2.

Enhancement #3: The wait time to activate Ultimate Team Jutsus now takes longer and can be cancelled out with attacks easily.
In Storm 2, sometimes Team Ultimates seemed invincible, especially when used as a counter attack to the opponent’s attack. With this enhancement, you can now cancel the opponent’s Team Ultimate by attacking them quick enough.

Enhancement #4: You can now cancel ongoing combos and jump
In other words, you can cancel your ground combo and switch to an aerial combo. Also, you can jump and avoid the opponent’s counterattack when your combo is guarded.

Enhancement#5: Players can now cancel ongoing combos and immediately start a ninja move!
If your opponent performs a substitution and uses a jutsu to counterattack your combo, now you can perform a ninja move (and possibly get the opponent’s back!) With this, you can take advantage of the opponent.

Enhancement #6: You can now press the substitution jutsu button slightly prior/after hit!
Example: If the L2 button is pressed before or the moment your opponent’s attack hits, you will perform a substitution jutsu and dodge the attack, without taking any damage, at the cost of depleting a part of the substitution bar
Example 2: If the L2 button is pressed after your opponent’s attack hits, you will perform a substitution jutsu and dodge the attack, but with the damage AND at the at the cost of depleting a part of the substitution bar.
With this, you can perform substitution jutsus in unexpected timing, so that the players can enjoy more strategic gameplay!

Saw a rumor about OP/NUNSG on 2ch yesterday. I just saw that the scan for OP was leaked a couple of hours ago, confirming the rumor from yesterday. Seems Kabutomaru will be the next character to be announced.

They took out the exploring and its missing many playable characters from the current arc. I also don't feel like there is enough new content from the Pain till the start of the current arc. The next game should be epic if one gets made. This just seems like a quick filler till the real UNS 3 comes out.

Keep in mind I play this series as a single player experience and on occasion play locally. Online is worthless to me.

Woah. I remember getting really mad at a guy who I thought was trolling because he kept insisting that Kabuto would end up being the main villain.

This was in 2005.. I can't believe I still remember that. I stopped reading Naruto some 4 years ago lol.

Time to eat some crow I guess.

This makes me sad - I put over 40 hours 100%ing UNS2.

So I made a JP PSN account just to try out the demo, and the new cancel system really lets you string together lots and lots of hurt. The limited kawarimi bar is also REALLY nice as it forces R2/L2 spammers to take a break and actually fight once in a while, not relying only on chakra charge.

Tobi isn't just a goofy jumbling idiot (pre-Awakening) like he was in UNS2, he was straight up whupping me the first time around, teleports and all.

Its GAF things. When we are getting very close to release date. (1 to 2 weeks before release date) They would make Official thread for the games so people can discuss here.

I had no idea the PAL release date was that much further behind, oh well i'm in no real rush here.
I'm intrigued by Onoki and Danzo as far as the newcomers go.

So this is the game to have since it will cover all the story from start to very recent plus stuff not covered in the first two games right? Sounds like an insane amount of content. Plus no rpg elements just fights and cut scenes? Perfect!
