Edge Preview: Monster Hunter 3G coming to the West - Q3 in EU, TBA in NA

Common sense would dictate that EDGE would know the likely release period in Europe and not in North America because they are, you know, a European magazine.

I really want to get into the series, but I don't have anyone to play locally with, so unless they add online or some sort of tunneling service via Wii(U), I won't buy it.

Get Tri! Me and Andrex just started playing!

Anyone who's constantly priaising Nintendo of Europe for being the best version of Nintendo really hasn't used Nintendo consoles for a long time or is not from Europe.

NoE had constant delays on games such as Brawl, flat out not releasing a giant amount of games from the NES-Current era and other than Xenoblade and The Last Story I can't really look at them as a good company in the slightest.

Yep, people only remember the successes and not the gigantic failures.

It's all ooh Europe had Terranigma or the awesome SNES design. Now its all Xenoblade, The Last Story, Pandora's Tower.

Hell people even forgot how awesome NPC Pikmin 2 and Dizastah are. Or Hotel Dusk 2 or Trace Memory 2!

Never said it was the historic norm, but for this generation, it's clearly Nintendo of Europe who has been picking up the slack. That, and there were different executives back then compared to now who made the decisions about what games to invest in Europe.

Nintendo Europe have been pretty much as good as nintendo America since the Wii came out and far better than them over the last few months, forget the past the here and now is all that matters and now noe is far better than noa

It's too late. People are blinded by them being released in EU. For the reason why they have been released out there is because JRPG's are still relevant out there sales wise then in NA where they aren't not the sale cruncher's they used to be in. 300-500k used to be considered good. If the numbers aren't Call of Duty or Madden then it's hard to consider to port out here.

On topic I hope it has online as well if it does come out here. Cause im the only one in my group of friends who have a 3DS. E3 can't come soon enough.

No...?
MH is a Capcom game...

NoE has published non-Nintendo games that haven't been released in North America. Inazuma Eleven.

Why are people in this thread talking as if Capcom's American branch was taken over by NOA overnight?

Nintendo has mainline Monster Hunter entries on their platforms, like Dragon Quest. One of the reasons they have main DQ games is because Nintendo assists in localization for the games. It's not too far fetched to imagine Nintendo is doing the same with Monster Hunter, in hopes of making it popular out of Japan while keeping an incentive to keep it on their platforms.

And even i am moderately surprised
I wonder if this is for the 3DS that Japan will get a MH3G+ release ?

From MH discussions it seems some of the more vocal players were annoyed at a lack of online. Perhaps a patch ?

edit: by online, i mean adhoc party style on line.

Well, I don't doubt that at all. But judging from the complaints in this thread, it makes it look like NoA is actively preventing Capcom from getting the game out here, which makes no sense whatsoever.

NoA is just so incompetent that people end up thinking the worst possible scenario by default, even if it's ridiculous.

I'm not going to get too excited until Capcom says something officially. European magazines have been talking about this "rumor" for months now if I recall.

Actually - someone mentioned some time ago something along the lines of Capcom should plan to release a budget version of the game in Japan near the back end of this year for 3G to run into and run up MH4 hype (maybe even a small demo included)

That would certainly make a double dip on the game -absolutely- possible and as long as you can use the same save data then i think gamers would be happy too (say, 3200 yen tops?)

p.s. i'm going to take down the pants and spank the arse of everyone who cheerled the Japanese sales of this game who doesn't buy the US / EU release. Game is screaming hot, ignoring it would be shameful. I don't care if you tried it and didn't like it - you're wrong, try it again.

What do you mean a budget version?

Is this a dedicated Monster Hunter's seal of approval? :p

Does TBA NA mean it's coming, but no date yet? Or that the game has yet to be announced for NA?

There is very little in the way of plausible scenarios in which this game comes out in Europe but not the US. If all these EU magazines are running with it, it's because it's getting localized and just hasn't been formally announced yet; if it's getting localized, it'll come here too.
