I wonder if some Apple employees take money under the table to approve some apps....

are there any disciplinary actions taken towards the incompetent app reviewers at Apple?

or are the app reviewers overburdened and Apple is fighting a loosing game trying to review every app?

or is the approval process automatic and some have learned how to trick the system?

It would mark the beginning of the end for the physical card game, which is something the Wizards are probably not ready to do yet.

Not sure why you think this? They could make their money back through IAP and charge 99cents for the base game. Duels of the Planeswakers didn't take away from the physical game. It would be just another potential revenue stream for them. It would be a gateway to the phyisical game just like Duels was.

They don't approve based on copyright infringement. Their main criteria is whether it actually works and doesn't break the device and whether it has adult content like nudity/sex

which is really odd because the pokemon yellow app apparently doesn't work on any device :S

You don't have to actually login to update though. When a new update comes, it'll simply ask you for the password to that account

Actually, it's not that simple.

Having 2 accounts coexist on a single devise is kind of a bitch. When you update it will ask you for the password of the last account you last synced with your computer. Even if it's the wrong account for that particular app (infinity blade in this case).

No matter what you do on the device you can't change it. Signing off and on will do nothing, you have to sync again and change accounts on itunes for it to work. Major pain in the ass as I do everything from the device and avoid itunes like the plague it is.

Google, ipad app update asks for wrong account, and you'll see countless other people with this problem.

Mine swaps account if I just sign in and out in the Store settings on my phone when updating US apps. I guess I'm lucky, buy yeah I have to sign out of my regular account and into the US account before checking for updates in the App Store (the updates appear on any account but won't download if I'm not signed into the US one).

Magic was designed a as physical game and works fantastically there. But for iOS online play I prefer games that were designed specifically for the platform. That's the reason I love Assassin's Creed Recollection.

Though it's hard to argue with the amount of content (as in cards and research) Magic could offer. I've never played an online Magic game though. How does the whole Instant mechanic work? Do you have to wait every time you play a card for your opponent to play an Instant in response? That seems like it would kill the flow of the game.

But could you update apps bought with both accounts (entering the correct passwords for each one) in the same session on your device? I couldn't. Signing off and on with the correct account did nothing. It kept asking me for the password of the wrong account and if wrote it, it would tell me that if was on the wrong store. There's no way to change the account it will ask you from the device. You have to do it from itunes, which I loathe.

Weird, because it IS that simple for me.

Was wondering who would be the first to comment on it. :lol

Hehe.

I'm not trying to shit on the guy's work, as I know a lot of work went into it, but I know a lot of us are getting tired of the notion of endless runners, yet no one wants to say it.

So Zombieville 2 is supposed to have iCloud support, right? I played a bunch on my iPad but it's not showing up on my iPhone. Does it take a while to sync over? I turned iCloud off and then on from the options menu, waited for Gamecenter to load, but nothing. Hmm.

Remember to download at least one app everyday this week or until a winner is announced. The person that downloads the 25 billionth app gets a $10,000 iTunes card. That's a whole lot of apps.

Whoever set the world three requirements for a three star rating in LoE2 is an asshole. This is impossible...

I almost think they should patch it.

I know! So far I've managed to 3-star 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7, but not without a lot of effort.

Level 1 seems impossible. Maybe I'm missing something huge, but I'm 1.5 seconds behind the target and can't even begin to fathom how to shave that down.

Seconding this; I regularly switch between my US and JP accounts and the worst I have to deal with is having to click the sign in/out buttons in the App Store more than once before something happens. I do everything on the device itself, nothing on iTunes.

Dwarves come out this week in Hero Academy along with some important balance changes for the Council and Elves. Buffed Monk and Wizard make me happy.

As an evolving competitive game, Hero Academy will experience typical challenges in the realm of balance. We identified that one of the main issues at high levels of play was the effectiveness of the Council's Knight. Simply put, they weren't presenting a good enough tradeoff for the Council player, and allowed for some overpowered brute force strategies (especially when matched with a Ninja and a Cleric). We decided to reduce their health so that a Council player will now have to provide better support for their forward Knights, and so that a correctly positioned dps unit like an upgraded Archer can take out a Knight and potentially stomp it in 5 action points using a scroll. To complement this change, we gave the Wizard a slight boost in the form of some innate magical Resist. This will strengthen the Wizard against Dark Elf Necromancers, for example.

Speaking of Necromancers, we reduced the health of the Phantom they spawn from KO’d units. The Necromancer is a very powerful mainline unit, and Phantoms present a significant AP (Action Point) efficiency hurdle for their opponent. Weakening the Phantom slightly will ensure that it can nearly always be destroyed by a single attack from any other unit. Along with this change, and in an effort to address a weakness in the Dark Elves' mainline unit arsenal, we increased the Void Monk's movement range and splash damage slightly. We found that players were using this unit mostly as cannon fodder, and he wasn't being used often enough to threaten enemy unit clustering. This change enables several new options for Dark Elves players.

Yeah I can update fine on each account as long as I sign into it beforehand via the settings on the device.

On the MtG part:

As someone who's played on the online platform: yes. You can change in your settings after which parts you want to auto-skip (there's like 10 steps if you know, pre-draw, post-draw, etc), and naturally the better you get the less steps you auto-skip because you might want o use them at some point. The online platform is REALLY anal about reacting fast... More like, the community is. I don't see asynchronous with long turn times gameplay working well for MtG, because there are just too many steps/inputs involved per turn, games would take FOREVER like that. 1min per input, tops, otherwise all strategy and flow would get lost... Which in turn would then require quite a bit of a time investment per game. Not sure if there's an obvious answer to this problem.

@double-account: i have no problems with this either. Even being just logged in my normal account, i get updates in the appstore for apps from BOTH accounts, and if i choose to update i just have to enter passwords for both accounts, there's just a little pop up with the respective apple id's already there.

Kingdom Rush is amazing. Best Tower Defense I've played lately. I'd put it up there with PvZ. Very fun and challenging.

PvZ is fun but by no means challenging

I just bought Kingdom Rush, $0.99 for a highly rated iPad TD with HD drawn art sounds great to me.

Only endless runner i like so far is Jetpack Joyride from Halfbrick (and its free!). I have almosted 100%ed the chevos, that Double Profit Bird and 5000M one are going to be tough.

Also bought Kingdom Rush HD yesterday. I had a feeling this was going to be an excellent game judging from the videos, and i was right! Nice clean UI. proffesional looking, excellent artstyle, great gameplay, no IAPs and only 99c.

Those are exactly the concerns I had with MtG online on iOS. I would of course like to use all the steps. I haven't played Magic in ages, but I remember using Rishadan Ports on my opponent's upkeep to flip his lands after he untapped them. It was pretty critical to do it at exactly that step for it to be of any use, so the online game would have to support it. Which is why I don't think Magic is very suited to online play. It was never designed for that. Face to face all that stuff works itself out pretty quickly, but online you have to give time for the opponent to react EVERY single step. Sounds annoying as hell.

Like I said, iOS now has some very good CCGs designed specifically with online play in mind, so I'm no longer aching for a MtG game. ACR's real time mechanic is just a thing of beauty IMO, that could never be replicated in real life play. And that's OK with me. MtG will continue to be the superior physical game, fortunately now we have some great options to play on iOS.

As for the accounts, both were for different regions. That probably makes a difference. In the troubleshooting threads pretty much everyone with the problem had different region accounts.

Pfft, Jetpack is a cakewalk compared to Darkness Falls. I'm #16 out of 100k+ and only sitting on 12/20. I also don't see how people can get sick of endless runners. They're basically platformers, albeit ones perfectly tailored for the system. I'll definitely be giving the one a few posts up a looksie. Does the sun factor into the gameplay itself much?

Well, there are millions of MTGO accounts that say it works just fine online. So...really, that's just a hangup on your end.

Thought about Vita...realized I second guess .99 app purchases.

Bought GTA III. It actually seems pretty well done for only playing the first couple minutes. I remember buying it 10 years ago in my first post college bachelor pad. Just playing it brings back memories.

Well that's why I was asking how it worked, since I've never played Magic online. The previous poster seemed to imply it was a bit cumbersome if you wanted to use all the steps (which you should if you care about being competitive), so I was going of that.

If you could provide more insight into how the game works, it'd be nice.
