One of the Gold trophies (Wiped Out) says to beat a certain time on an event called 'Wipeout'. I looked through them all and none are called Wipeout unless it's in Wreckreation (didn't look in there, just Festival).

It's a supercar challenge that unlocks after you get a medal from every other race. Already spent 8 hours with the game and loving it! My only nitpick is that the faster cars seem to lack weight so every little bump sends them flying and they're next to impossible to handle.

Oh, and for some reason the PS3 trophies don't sync. Weird.

Played the demo from the UK store...it's fun but I wish there was more to the overall game...but with it being so cheap I cant complain.

Really wish we had an idea of when it was coming to the US.

I don't see this taking more than 2 weeks considering what's been said. My mind is set on next week for no reason other than the comments I've read.

this is pretty accurate to RC cars. Which in a way is a shame, because although I love the scale and aesthetic, I'd have preferred a more standard handling model - like literally little motorstorm cars.

PlaystationBlog EU just posted on Twitter that the game will be out March 6th so I'm guessing they just revealed the NA release date since the game is already out here. That tweet has since been deleted.

Played the demo from the UK Store and I absolutely love it! Will definitely buy it day 1 (March 6 in the US Store).

Happy launch day for Motorstorm RC guys (in Europe/Australia).

I've only played through four events and gotten gold medals on them so far. Damn it's good. I race 1/8 4wd nitro buggies IRL and it's surprisingly accurate to that (on a higher grip surface).

I love the Motorstorm universe and it's great to have it expanded to an RC type racer. Hopefully the two can co-exist under the one brand and both be successful in their own right. There just aren't enough top down racers out there anymore sadly.

Aside from the unskippable control tutorial at the start (for shame), it's exactly the game I was wanting. Being a massive fan of Super Offroad, Skidmarks and Mashed, so far Motorstorm RC is right up there with those. It's just a shame that there's no online mulitplayer. I seriously hope that gets patched in at some stage as it'd be brilliant.

Did somebody said Super Off Road? Fuck...to the psn store!

Updated thoughts:

The physics and gameplay are great. So far I've unlocked 45 medals out of 144. I'm hanging out to get a Vita now... I knew I should have put aside some cash to get one at launch :/

well, it is a small side project by a couple guys in evolution after all. hopefully the sales is good enough that it warrant a bigger more meaty sequel. looks like they have dlc in mind, although it's probably in the form of more vehicles type and tracks.

still waiting on US release :(

After spending some more time with it, MS RC is absolutely brilliant. I would have happily paid more for it if it was fleshed out a little more (with buggy upgrades, full skin editor/paintshop, track designer etc). As it stands though, it's a steal for the price. Even more so considering that you effectively own the game on two platforms for the one price.

If you like top down racers and Project Gotham Racing, you'll probably love Motorstorm RC. Hunting down gold medals can be extremely rewarding. The racing that's there is great. If you have a well populated friends list on PSN (I don't have any friends), it has a nicely integrated scoreboard/timeboard/ghosts for your friends and global rankings for each event.

The track design is brilliant...possibly my highlight of the game. When you've put in quite a few laps around each and you get into the groove, it really hits its stride. It's clear that the tracks were designed around the handling of the buggies. Once you find the racing line, it's great stuff.

On a sidenote, the ice shader on the snow tracks looks unreal. It's possibly the best ice I've seen in a game since Rallisport Challenge on the XBox ;)

***Edit: If you enter the multiplayer game mode and add AI bots, you can set up your own races without the need for a second (third or fourth) player. It's fully featured as well with races, drift and hotlap modes. Up to 8 AI bots can be added in whatever assortment of vehicles of your choice. The AI difficulty can also be set in here between easy, medium and hard. Very cool. Apologies for any confusion with my above post. In my defense, it's not entirely obvious and I don't have a manual to read ;)

The previous MotorStorm already had a lot of DubStep if I remember correctly.

Anyway, I'm at 60 medals or so and I think it's great, though now occasionally I run into a race that I have serious trouble even getting bronze at. Once I beat it, I often get Gold right away, but still, gets pretty tough now. Around 50 you get a new race type, called drift, a lot like GT5's drift mode.

I'm very surprised by this game, I expected to hate it since I usually hate top down racing games (even back in the 80's when I was a little kid). But the alternate control scheme works pretty well for me, and the dynamic camera does a good job, and since the circuits are very small, you learn them very fast. Will buy!

I now have 179/192 medals and am sitting on the 9th place on the global chart. This game is just so brilliant. Kinda bummed that I was at number 4 just yesterday.

Also only three achievements left and then it's platinum time. Reaching the 40:00 of total time will kill me since I feel I'm already reaching my limits.

Wow this is so addictive. Trying to beat my friends times and then sending them a message rubbing it in their face. I could spend days on this.

so there's no online multiplayer? my understanding from their launch trailer was that it was online and cross platform w/ vita and ps3? no mp = no buy for me.

Have fun missing out on a great game then :p

No online. You can cloud save and carry on from PS3/Vita i think

believe me i will, sucks cause i love rc car games like re-volt, rc pro am, and top down like Kawasaki Caribbean challenge, off road, super sprint, reckless racing most recently.

Ah yes, this is sounding more like an Evolution studios game now. Around the halfway point the game becomes ridiculously hard, sapping most of the fun out of the experience.

This game is so fucking good.

I think it's actually my favorite MotorStorm game. The interface is a dream. Everything's just so seamless and instant. And Micro Machines V3 and Rock 'n' Roll Racing are two of my favorite old school racers, so the gameplay suits me perfectly.

WipEout RC next plz, Evolution.

When this first started up on that 'choose your control scheme' bit, i was all over the place and worried i was about to hate this... but in game and a few races later i was zipping around like a pro (well not quite according to the leaderboards!)

Their menu interface takes some getting used to and why it's so small when they have so much screen real estate, i have no idea! But once you find your way around there's a stack of things to do.

Does it remind anyone else of using the faster cars in Blast Corps? The way they careen off of ramps and tip over. Some are hard to control but i'm glad there are differences cause each of them are playable in their own way and make for some awesome gameplay.

A miniature Wipeout (with split screen multiplayer) would be amazing. Awesome idea.

My medal tally is only at 52 medals so far but I'm am focusing on getting all three medals for every event now. It's not an easy game. It really is brilliant though. I'm quite confident this will become my favourite top-down racer.

The sound design in the game is great as well. The 'smack' of the chassis on the ground as you land a hard jump is exactly the same as with a real RC car. Great stuff.

Someone should start an OT with a leaderboard or weekly comp.

Has anything been said about the two add ons that are in the trophy list?

Also how come some of my races don't have any Rankings.. It said Global Rank: Unraked

Yep its a good game.

Also +1 WipEout RC, Great Idea!

I would like to see the ability to view and save replays added. But then I think every racing game should have this as standard.

Seriously, Bravo to evolution for actually playing to a portable's strengths and not just regurgitating a console game.

Can't wait to try this, and oddly enough this game more than any other has me thinking about grabbing a vita

Here's what the Sony guy said:

The ‘buy one, get one free’ applies for only for the European territories – we will provide more details closer to launch regarding our distribution plans, but rest assured that North American consumers will get both for $9.99.

So it looks like they're simply charging an extra to get both versions. SCEA fails again.

What the fuck? It's been advertised this way since day 1. Why change it now?

"but rest assured that North American consumers will get both for $9.99."

Doesn't that confirm both versions for $9.99 total?

My guess is that buying each version individually will cost between $6-8. The guy said "The ‘buy one, get one free’ applies for only for the European territories ", which to me implies they'll be charging an extra for the bundled version in the US.

Multiple accounts for the win again. My first purchase on the EU store in a while (the US store is often faster (even with Grace in charge) and almost always much cheaper).

Also my first Vita game (still don't plan on getting a Vita unless Sony fixes the multiple account thing or it hits the bargain bin).

Great game for the price. Getting a Platinum seems to be not trivial though. (I do have a Platinum on Motorstorm Apocalypse).

what is your preferred camera? I'm sticking with dynamic for now. I like the idea of the one that pushes you to the back of the screen, a bit like Desert Strike, but it just seems to move the camera around a bit too much.

If you pay 9.99 for both you are essentially paying the same amount we are. You just get the option of buying them individually as well. Not really something I would complain about.

I can only really play well using the aerial one. It's closest to micro machines.

So, is this the de-facto OT for the game, or do we still need one? I could do it, but if everyone is fine with this I'd rather play the game :p

9,99$ = 6,99€
What's the problem here? ;P

Yeah, I'm not sure. Seems like they're giving you the option of buying one or the other for less (great if you only have a PS3 or Vita, and don't plan on getting the other) or both for the same price as the EU if you have both.

But that's not how Sony's price conversion works.

I completed each event in the Artic Edge and Apocalypse festivals with three gold medals. I added up the times used in each event and i beat the required time of 12 and 10 minutes but those gold trophies didn't pop :(

Was so looking forward to this that I switched accounts on my Vita to play with the demo. With the few races it includes, plus the playground, it's exactly what I was expecting and my money is ready to be spent. Too bad its not out sooner, because now I'm going to be driving in circles for the next few weeks, lol.
