just use the club you start with...they give you a 9 iron...thats what you use (basically just dont change your club the entire round....this one of the easier ones!
im like 2 away (the last 2 gold and the 1 extra plat!)
the gir was easy once i understood what they wanted. I thought they wanted the eagle GIRs...you know the ones where you actually get points,.....thats not the case. for anyone else thinking this. all you have todo is get to green with a birdie putt....you dont need to make the putt, just get to the green for it. IDK the exact % they want as i got 100% on each but i was watching for the last one and got 88% once and didnt get it so it could be >90%
The one i took a stupid amount of time getting was the 50% impact....ill be dammed if my Vita wasnt inches away from a explosive demise a few times attempting this!!!

this is the only launch game i picked up and it is sweet. love the daily tourneys- love the online games finally got 2nd place out of 12 players- the other top finishes all were using level 3/3 clubs and ball which i can't wait to get-
need to work on getting more crowns- just started to figure out and use top and back spin more effectively

Ugh. Landing in crappy lies where the shot is 55-95% or something, and there's a small pond between you and your landing. Of course, the first shot, shoot a little strong and the ball hits for 60%. Stroke. Next shot, go a little more, this time, 100% (which always confuses me), and I land over the green. When the luck factor fucks you, I get frustrated...
Actually, you might have encountered a flyer (is that the correct term?). If you end up in the rough, unless you get perfect impact, you might actually get 110% power on your hit.
It doesn't announce it in this game (it did in Hot Shots: OOB), but I am noticing that when you use the overhead view, the little arrow that indicates where the ball will land, will turn yellow or blue. I "think" yellow means you have a chance of getting a flyer?
Its not explicitly mentioned in the instructions, so I'm not quite sure.
If Minna no Golf 5 is any indication, yes. But it may have panty shots.
Loving this game.
Edit again: Damn it. Region locked yes.
I imported Hot Shots 5, and bought again when Out of Bounds came out.

I just don't like that my online pass didn't show up in my download history. In case I need to download again for any reason.
It's probably tied to your account as a "service" so no downloads are necessary.

It's under Service. You won't need to download it ever as long as you log in via your account.
There's some challenges/tournaments where you can't get trophies like that, usually ones that give you an advantage (Unlimited Power Shots, Mega Cups, etc). The scorecard says "Unofficial" if that's the case.

Ok, need some help with daily international tourney. I understand the meaning and the effect of some special rules but there's one I can't understand end make me slip at the end of the chart every try. What I need to do when the "unlimited power shot" rules is on? Do powershot or not? Why i'm alway the last, what i need to do other than put the ball in the hole?

Lol I keep watching that replay and looking at it I've really over hit it. If it didn't hit the flag I think it could of rolled onto the fridge. Absolute total luck but hey it's still a hole in one.
Im so glad I didn't overload on launch titles. All I bought was this, Rayman and downloaded Motorstorm. I've played maybe 30 mins of motorstorm, an hour of rayman and around 30 hours of this!!!!
I simply just love it and I know it sounds stupid but it's definitely my goty already in terms of online play.
I have a question for the veterans of the series though. Did the other versions open up more course for online play? I'm just hoping that some of the other courses become available to book and other custom ones with special rules etc besides megacup and that.

Not too shabby, but not great either. Main thing is this is probably the first time in years I'm not as competitive online and don't really care about winning as I'm having soo much fun. Anything can happen online and don't be downhearted if your in a lowly position as it only takes 1-2 decent holes to put you right up there. One of my only wins involved that hole in one I posted. Btw how many points do you get for a hole in one?
Sounds like you got caught up in the "unlimited power shot + "power shot +2" rule tourney they had. it's like saying, you can have as much candy as you want, but it'll cost you dearly every time you eat some. Kinda scumbag, but basically any "bunker +2", "power shot +2", "hit a tree +2" means if you do the act, or land/hit the object its +2 penalty.

This game, I love it one day and get frustrated by it the next.
I was playing really well last night online, placing in every tournament and a 2nd.
Today my timing is so off, I just can't do anything right.
And I've read people saying that the Crown requirements are in the game on the challenge menu, well I can't see anything.
I have the website with the guide in my favourites, but where in game? a screen grab would be nice.

How big is the file size for this game? I think I might buy it soon, but I dunno if I should go with the retail version or the DD. I only have a 16GB memory card
Edit: Wooops, I just saw it says 1.2Gb right there in the OP. Do DD load faster or something? Or it's just the convenience of not having to swap games?

It actually the opposite. DD are a tiny bit slower because of the transfer speed of the memory card.
wow really? That kinda sucks. I think I'll just go with the retail version. Though I hate swapping games on the Vita. My fingernails are incredibly short (ehh... I know that's my fault
) and it's always a pain in the ass trying to open the thingy...

Seeing all these posts and how much fun people seem to be having with it, plus a robust online community, it looks like I'm getting HSG today. Plus, Daily International Tournaments?! That's awesome! It'll be my first HSG, hell, my first GOLF game, but it sounds amazing so I'll suffer the agony of defeat over and over to get better!

i thought it was alot more then 110%
yeah flyers the correct term.. if you look at the range% as soon as you start youll get the flyer warning then it goes away...they can be a bit annoying as you used to be able to change direction to get rid of them but now it seems you cant....always sucks htting a flyer shot right over pin into water :/

I thought flyer meant there was an overhead obstruction, haha. I didn't know it meant I could hit it further?

yeah...it happens when you hit certain spots on the rough...the problem is if the flyer actually hits is "random" (which i call shenanigans on, seems when im aimed down a nice straight fairway i dont get the flyer, yet if im aimed for a pin surrounded by bullshit ill hit one)

I had a 113% flyer today, overshot the green into the water.
It placed me back where I started, so lowered the power very slightly, but got a 68% power on the ball, plopped into the water my side of the green
