just bumping this thread in light of motorstorm rc today, i mean it's only ten bucks, and i went and brought the game anyways ..but it'll suck if this becomes a big trend and other regions miss out on deals like this often.

i guess in saying that i can't complain, i did get wipeout for free after all ..so thats not so bad ..but yeh ..region locking sucks in general.

so anyways ... using one memory card, you CAN, restore, download off another region, restore back to yr main account and play demo's just fine ... but i guess with paid for "full games" that wont work. it basically prompts me that i can't play this under an account that wasn't the one that downloaded it.

i guess that's basically the total opposite to the way it orig worked on ps3 ... where game's weren't tied to accounts, and you had "game sharing " threads all over the place...


i get it when it comes to localisation etc, region's specific content related laws etc ... but yeh ... does blow ... i guess it comes down to the game publishers in this case though, enforcing profile lock downs on full content vs demos ..

BOY, isn't the video activation thing annoying. Why can't i watch a video i've downloaded (and now own) on multiple devices?

The only video I've downloaded is the free South Park one from the UK PSN, but I didn't need to do anything to play it. Just downloaded to the Vita and played it (I have everything on a single account).

they should make it restricted to TWO (max) accounts, games i mean.

i think if they did that they'd see DD sales increase rather than go down like they maybe fear ...


i mean if i can't buy a game off the states or japan's psn store ...what am i gonna do? ..wait a few mths for local release? and make forget about the game by then?

or am i gonna buy it from a store? and if i'm gonna buy it from a store and use it under my local account ..if i'm gonna be limited to the online functionality of that game then hell ... i might as well just buy it second hand .... with no profit going to the game maker at all ...

The only limit you impose on yourself is the inability to earn trophies on a single account. You can play online fully, as long as you're using the account you bought the game on.

I have a question Can i use a retail JPN game on a VITA that is configured with a Us account ?
Or
Do i need a vita MemCard for Jpn Games & Another for Us games ? ( and switching between them ? )

i'm thinking of importing some titles

you should be able to use that game (physical copy) on any account, however the DLC and all that will only be available on the JPN store and thus you won't ever have access to it from your U.S. account

Importing games is fine. The only sticking point is if the game you have has an online pass it will not work in a different region.

My JP copy of Uncharted plays just fine under my EU account.

Thank you all ..besides onlines passes i'll be carefull.

My vita purchase won't be long from now on then..i Do plan 2 memcards( for Jpn games with dlcs and 1 regular Us account )... as long as i don't wipe the memcards and only reset the Vita settings i should be fine.
