Lots of interest in RE: Revelations. It didn't chart on the Top 10 individual SKUs, and the 10th spot on that list sold 135K (Skyrim 360). Not a lot of perspective, but there you go.

Anita Frazier, analyst at NPD, said the Xbox 360 was the top hardware platform for the seventh month in a row. Most other hardware platforms posted declines in the year. Sales of hardware were up 50 percent from January.

“There are four days of retail sales reported for PlayStation Vita in this reporting period,” Frazier said. “Overall, hardware unit sales increased by 62 percent over January without the Vita included. Including PS Vita sales, that increase is 87 percent.”

She said that new releases contributed 22 more unit sales than new launches in February, 2011. The top ten releases this month were 78 percent of total new release volume, compared to 94 percent last year.

“The top-selling PS Vita game for the month, not surprisingly, was Uncharted: Golden Abyss, which landed in the top 20 for overall title sales for the month,” Frazier said.

The only new intellectual property in the month’s top ten list was Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning from Curt Schilling’s 38 Studios and Electronic Arts.

“Three of the top 10 accessory items for the month were Skylander character packs,” Frazier said. “In total, these SKU’s accounted for more than $17 million in sales for the month, and if added to the sales generated by the software, Skylanders easily claims the top spot for content-related sales.”

Too bad we have no idea how much PS2 and PSP sold last month.

I expect Revelations to be one of those Nintendo third party slow burners. It wouldn't surprise me if sales hit 500k or even more some time later this year.

An opening of 100k with a long tail works out okay too. Capcom execs are probably complaining as we speak though. :p

Why would it have a long tail? It's not really a universally appealing title like a Mario game.

Wish Amalur was even higher, but still pretty good.

And yeah, The Darkness II is the bomb of the month it looks like. And Soul Calibur V.

Oh, and Grand Slam Tennis 2 and Syndicate are also nowhere to be found.

THE WORDS! They'll drift away without the _!
Interesting example of the different RPG tastes of the HD twins owners this month.

With FF selling more on PS3 and it looks like KoA must have lagged behind on the PS3 for it to be the highest selling single game on 360 (MS PR), but 4th combined.

Seems pretty good for having only a few days of sales.

Meh, I love Twisted Metal but it's unplayable online. Wonder what the next month sales will be or even what more they could have sold in February had ESP not released a broken product.

y'all should be ashamed
Considering that it's very likely that a good portion of Vita game sales were digital, it'd be hard to imagine seeing any of them up there, especially with the estimated hardware numbers.

Well we already had confirmed that Uncharted made the top 20. It's just a list of the most notable big name games not making the top 10.

Really? Kind of odd Nintendo didn't mention Just Dance 3 Wii being #1 individual sku in their PR. Figure they would toot that horn.

It's been the best-selling individual SKU for the last four months, actually. I'm a little surprised that Nintendo hasn't made a bigger deal of this, myself.

i don't think they would have charted even if digital numbers were counted.

Sounds like EVERYTHING was ultra-bomba this month with the exception of hardware and Ubi's Just Dance machine.

Given how expensive those memory cards are, I'm not sure you're right. Given the out of pocket for a base Vita plus games? Yeah. I'm sticking with the cards, and buying the minimum size memory stick for saves only.

i forgot this was today. 3ds is doing eh, okay i guess. seems not everyone is sold on moving on from the ds (and since nintendo isn't either, i guess i can't blame them). wii is clearly done. there are a couple games coming out for the fans this year and that's it.

ps3 did better than expected. it might have a good couple final years if it hits the $200 and $150 price points. microsoft can comfortably start next gen for them whenever they want though.

So with game #2 (individual SKUs) doing 221k and the 10th game doing 135k (Skyrim) it was a pretty "balanced" month I guess; as far as numbers goes. Seeing how Super Mario and Mario Kart also did over 100k and missed the charts.

If Twisted Metal is the second highest selling individual SKU of the month, that means that XIII-2 PS3 did less than 221k. If XIII-2 360 isn't in the individual top ten, that means it's less than 135k. XIII-2 has a max of 350k if this is correct which is a spectacular bomba compared to FFXIII's 1.3m first month.

Missing in Action:

Glad to hear it about Syndicate at least. That game was so extremely dull and watered down that I couldn't even make myself finish it. And as I've stated before I finish about 99% of the games I play, even if they're bad.

That's not even including the fact they made it a goddamned FPS. It's just a really poorly done FPS.

Did anyone seriously expect it to do much better though? I mean did anyone REALLY expect this to do 500k+?
