any of you guys go to Ignition or Galloping Ghost fighting game weeklies? Just curious if they primarily use PS3 or 360 consoles for their matches...i got a PS3 TE stick, but I may need to dual mod it.

My goal for the first part of the year is to get involved in the chicago FGC! Probably on SFxT (Ling, haven't decided on a second char) and UMVC3 (currently running X23, Ryu, Sent...but I am not happy with Sent right now and am thinking of cheesing it up with Rocket Raccoon.)

I think Ignite is based on what systems people bring.

I've only been there once, but it wasn't for a fight game or anything. Been thinking about it though.

I used to go to Ignite so often after school, shit was awesome. Then I got my own computer that could actually play games and I stopped going :(

Do you have reservations at Alinea and Schwa yet? If not, good luck for a trip in a few weeks (especially with Schwa.) Also, if you've done Alinea, then forgo that and try and score tickets to Next since they sell them on their facebook page by lottery (again, good luck.) And even though you put a "not interested" for Charlie Trotter's, it's worth mentioning that it's closing in August.

I suggest Goosefoot and Ruxbin.

Chicago's pop. is ~2.7 million, so more like 1/3rd of New York. It's still a very large city, just not on the level of NYC, London, Tokyo, etc..

I've been here for a week now and I've had a lot of fun already (golf, bball, eating out, etc.). I'll be at the museums next week and probably more golf weather permitting. It would've been nice to have a Chicago-gaf hangout.

Yeah, I know the deal with Alinea and Schwa. I'd drop either for Next elBulli edition, but I certainly don't expect that kind of luck. As for Trotter, his style never particularly stood out to me.

Thanks for the recs, they both sound interesting. Have any recs for cheap eats?

I'm playing a show with the dudes who play in the subway (mainly Jackson red line and blue line, sometimes Lake) stops.. ones the black drummer guy (Mark) and the young white guitar player guy (Adrian) at the Bird's Nest tonight in Lincoln Park around 9:30/10p. Come check it out if you're in the area

But I thought this was a Boston tread? :p I kid, I kid. I still hasn't visited Chicago, but I would love to do it so. Probably the best architecture in the whole US. And one gotta try this deep dish pizza. Dayum.
