This is some thought police shit. The guy is an idiot obviously but nobody who doesn't have a criminal record before deserves prison over some stupid comments. Everybody says something ignorant and hurtfull once in a while. Send him to some counseling, let him work in a social project or whatever. Possibly ruining a young life over this is ridiculous. Meanwhile repeated violent offenders and serious criminals get free passes at the courts.

Do I think 2 months is too much? Sure I agree, but some form of punishment is in place(I would go for a fine). People are saying way too much shit while over the Internet, thinking they are untraceble.

Still, what is the punishment going to actually do? It doesn't fix anything and takes attention away from things actually worth working on.

Yeah, this should really scare people. I'm 100% in favor of people getting their comeuppance for racism and other abhorrent views, but we should never PREVENT them from SAYING them.
Everyone has the right to say what they want, and that right comes with accepting the consequences of that action.

The thing a lot of people seem think everything is ok, unless punishable by law. It sends out a clear message "this is wrong".
What's the worst that can happen? People say less racist things. At the best the youth will get brought up with a better sense of right and wrong.
Speech and incitement are two different things. Context also matters. Laws and law enforcers are subtle enough to recognise the difference.
I don't agree with jail time though. Community service or a fine would have been better, both for Stacey, the jails and society as a whole.
With a name like 'Superhead', I have to say I support DY fully. Sounds like he's barking up the right tree.

There is no way to see what this guy said as incitement. It was a stupid comment said while drunk, if this is apparently the new bar for fighting criminals in society we're gonna need the world's combined GDP to build all the prisons. I want to stay away from hyperbole here, but this shit should scare you.

Incitement never set well with me, I mean it is based off that anyone saying hateful words can cause people to go crazy and do something stupid. Is the average person that fragile that they can be compiled by a idiot college kid to attack a sports player? Do the public need protecting from themselves?
