They are referring to the achievement points attached to XBLA games.

They are referring to 200GS games. Microsoft has a new policy that Arcade games must have 400GS in June. Every game which has 200GS must be released before June or it has to be updated(and goes through cert I think) again.

In other news, last night I won all ten battles in Land of the Giants in Quarrel. That's the one where you have to beat Kali, Helena and Rex in a series of 8 vs. 8 battles. If you don't get the anagram, you'll lose, and most of the time you'll lose anyway because Kali and Helena get the anagram nearly every round - and quicker than you!
Also, I did it without cheating. No anagram solvers, no pausing to give myself time to think. I am really pleased with that, even though it took about fifty attempts. Only one more challenge to hit gold on now!

We need more 800 points games on XBLA, a lot of the 1200 points games are not getting the sales and attention they deserve since people just wait for the almost inevitable deal of the week...getting a game at day one at 800 points is a lot easier to swallow.

There is a big difference in saying that the current state of Japanese gaming developing is estagnated (or even saying it in a less polited way) and just saying "japanese games suck" completing ignoring its legacy and influence. Or FEZ does not own anything to Super Mario? Or the passion we have today with games are not due to Nintendo and Sega in our childhood?

I love the trials HD physics so I can't wait to see what people do with the creation side of this.

Well, that's a bit of revisionist history right there. Sega and Nintendo wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the western developments of Activision, Atari and so on. Spacewar was an american invention.
There's also the fact that they're all pretty much right. Lots of gaffers may still love japanese games, but there's no way you can claim that the rampant creativity and originality of the 8bit/16bit/32bit eras isn't all but completely gone.REMEMBER CITADEL said:

Wreckateer was announced as Spring, though. It's usually pretty obvious but MS has been making so many promotions that it's hard to get a read on it. Hybrid, Happy Wars, Monaco, Crimson Dragon, Steel Battalion and Battleblock Theater all have SoA potential, IMO.

When did they announce something for Wreckateer? Guy at the showcase made it seem like SoA was in the plans. Seems like it would fill in the Fruit Ninja type slot from last year.

lol, people that are boycotting games because of mundane reasons really are silly because for one you wouldn't be able to enjoy a game that's bound to be great and also the developer of said game you're boycotting wouldn't even care about your reasons for not buying the game. (and japanese devs wouldn't give a damn about it also)
