Talking about micro-managing heroes. Does anyone ever get a problem where they have everything selected but then suddenly it un-selects something? It constantly happens to me when I control my wolves as Lycan. Sometimes he just stops or I'm missing a wolf.

Yes. Sometimes Lycan stays back or the wolves stay back. It's quite frustrating when you have to be quick.

Apparently I need to give Warlock a shot.

I thought Juggernaut needed farm out the nose to do well? Maybe I should go back to him.

He does, early game you can get kill just with boots and spinning around, but it's pretty useless mid-late.

Also i just noticed how the micro stuff is completely arbitrary (why Huskar needs more micro than Antimage?), as is the map awareness like Juggernaut and Drow needing less map awareness than heroes like antimage who even when out of position can get out almost for free.

Warlock is such a good hero. Most GAF hate him tho... Which is a shame because if used correctly, pushes hard. One of the most underrated push and team fight heroes imo.

OD shouldn't be checking runes anyway, he isn't really an early game ganker, it works best if there is a roamer or somebody in the sidelanes checking for runes and utilizing them. You should get one level of arcane orb after your banish and passive, but then not again until those are maxed and you have a level in your ult. It simply costs too much mana and isn't all that great until your passive and mana pool can keep up. For squishyness you should invest into a rod of atos; its pretty much designed for OD and Silencer. With an atos/force/treads OD can easily be active with his team as well as farm up the rest of his items fast.

Against an SF mid you should be banishing him as much as possible because he won't be able to use razes, if you can time them in order to deny him xp and gold, thats great, but just stealing int from an SF can screw them over.
Yeah, I'm starting to lean this way.
Instead of going sheepstick that comes out pretty late for my games I'll try to go rod of atos after Force and that's 2000 less.
As far as skills go, I only intend on placing a single Arcane Orb early, not more, just to be more dangerous because I tried going Arcane Orb from 10 to 14 but, again, this too is just too late for the pacing of my noob games (or for my sub-par ability to keep up with levels maybe).

As far as SF goes it will probably take me a while to get used to fighting somebody with that damage output head on with an hero as fragile as OD but I'll try.
Last game there was an SF again, but this time I was side lane, I still managed to banish him during the startup of his ulti and in the middle of a few razes saving a few heads in the process.

Those fatal bounds are lethal early game. Really annoying to play against if you're a squishy hero and he just burns through all your starting items regen and you just have to keep taking it.

Ah, I just saw MoonMeander finally started streaming DotA2. Might be LTTP on this one.

I'll be able to judge Swag's claim about Singsing being a poor copy of Moon appropriately!

Singsing is more likable or funnier because he calls him self out for doing bad plays, Moon never blames him self and just bitches when things go wrong and that gets really annoying. But still both are fun to watch.

But nothing beats mousesports, the banter between each other is always hilarious.

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
I both agree and disagree with this list.

Agree in that the rating is generally accurate for difficulty of the hero.

Disagree in that these ratings give the impression that the person choosing the hero has a good if not great grasp of all basic mechanics. This should not be used as a rubric to determine who to play first for a newcomer.

Imagine Bane or Warlock at the hands of someone new to the game. low HP pool, easily ganked, channeled skills. Not to mention Nightmare can seriously mess up your team if used incorrectly.

Now consider a Tide or Weaver. Tide is naturally tanky, and Weaver has spammable invis. Both of which are very strong survival tools in low skill brackets.

I tuned in for a bit, saw him queue up with bulba. Chat was blowing up because Moon said that he's done streaming HoN for a company that won't bother advertising or supporting it's own game; 'Why should I advertise for them?' 'The money is with Dota'. Fanboys were going nuts.

Couple gaffers going to play against supposedly Artstyle? He's sporting the Na'Vi tag so not sure if it's really him. Good luck!

My favorite kind of player:
"WE CANT WIN WE CANT WIN THEY WIN LATE GAME" Runs out into lane and feeds. CONSTANTLY.

Just did doombringer for the first time. Was destroying fools. But still lost :(. We didn't have good heroes. And were up against some crazy ass late game heroes

I hate pubs so damn much some times.

This game, just highlights what I hate about dota 2.

QoP mega farms game, pushes lanes, hogs the farm. Buys a Skadi first. Then gets aghs 30 minutes into the game. Then gets Manta and then AC after I buy my AC. Sells AC to get sheep stick 60 minutes into the game, a bit late? 90% of her last hits were from lane creeps. I never got the chance to farm a lane because she would just blink in and aoe them down. Bought wards put them on cour, no one used them so eventually I just took over warding. It didn't help though.

Calls me terrible while she 1 v 5's, gets silenced and dies. Team never pushes, viper played as a janitor like it was his job. It wasn't even a fun losing game, I got focused fired first all game. Their sniper is god awful and he still won. Look at zeus' items ffs :(.

I did make a few mistakes, I chased a sniper past a tower once and played too agressive, but by and large it was a messed up game. It was like people were more focused on getting kills then pushing and winning. It should have been an easy win, 3 hard carries.

Clockwerk and WR kept their cool through the game, I didn't. props to them.

I just replayed drunken Swag's rant again at work and it is still AMAZING. Moody's "South Africa = Africa-lite" riposte was excellent.

I'm listening to the GFW radio reunion podcast now and i'm in bliss in my little cubicle.

Nope nothing will top his "playing with Freakinchair is like white people doing charity for Africa, something you just do out of guilt or somethings in them lines, it was pretty much Chair getting roasted, HoN gaf so mean.

And another stand out thing was when tSwift hyping shit up with "oh shit you got ethereal'd" genius. Oh and Puppetyuber saying only pussy's say bitch while men say the F-WORD. Hilarious material.

8-1-1 as Invoker. I think I did great for the first time playing with real people. It's weird, I thought Invoker will be the latest hero I'll learn. He's really and really fun, though. Praise me, GAF! 8)

Destroying with Doom? Now there is a rare sight.

I was ganking people 1v1. I never gank people, I always just die. Run up to weaver, Doom him so he cant invis, aoe thingy for dmg and health, lvl death, and then the net spell i had from a creep. He almost got a way but i'm to awesome. Then i did the same thing on void.

Will have to give Doom a try. Never played him before. His character model is huge though, something I've never liked about him.

I really liked him, mainly because of that aoe, so good. And his Ult is easy. I just targeted Weaver alot to stop his invisibility and ult you can kill him in that 13 seconds. I had a very low GPM but still managed to get my vanguard and radiance at decent time. People also seemed to avoid targeting me. If i would have gotten a heart too, I think i would have done tons better. Sniper was just so farmed, that stun shot was destroying me too. I love his character model, walk around like a boss

played an outrageous game last night with a BH who was failing hard, but farmed his ass off and was really important later.

How much farm, you ask?
in the 1:06 (that's over an hour if it isn't clear) match, he pushed enough towers and farmed lanes long enough to buy 3 (three) Divine Rapiers. He lost 2 and got them both back before the game ended. can provide pics. He went Treads + Vlad + MKB + Rapier. Lost two of them (and just replaced them), almost fucking over the team as we had to worry about focusing the person with the rapier rather than how we'd normally approach team fights. Ugly, unfun match. But a win is a win.

There are more people playing, keep seeing new records on the stat page. But still, why do we get matched with new people when our entire party has at least 100+ wins.
I think I figured why. Before you could view your said "rank" through the console. Based on your choice of skill before your first game you'd get 1000-2000-3000. Your so called hidden MMR would probably be floating around that number. Only logical explanation at least.

Whenever I buy Rapier, it's when I know I have the match done. And only when we're done pushing rax and focusing both towers in front of fountain. I never risk it like some idiots I've known who buy them the second they have the gold for them and do so without thinking.

Edit: So I played as Doom and had this guy complain about how OP Viper was. If you let him have his farm and you feed him enough, he can get out of control. But he can also be focused down and make his day a nightmare.

So anyways, the guy who was complaining chose Viper because he wanted an easy match. We finished so fast that I didn't get to enjoy my time with Doom. After the match ended I queued up again and I was going to pick Doom, but I see the same guy on the opposing side. I quickly picked Viper just to mess around him, and it turned out to be my best Viper match ever.

He's the Skeleton King. Here's a video of a fight towards the end :p

Viper is far from overpowered. I kind of can't believe anyone would say he is. He's amazing early-mid game, but even with lots of farm, he falls off late game.

He's really good when paired with heroes like sven/ursa/lifestealer.

I like playing him as support/semi carry, getting early aghs and just ganking a ton with the carry.

I mean, believe me, I'm well aware of how good he is, but he's so easy to beat down. Every time I dominate with him, it's because the enemy team LETS me. (I play mid with him almost every time

Yeah, he's in a similar boat as mirana. Really strong for those first 30 minutes but then falls off.

I've got a hard on for Bloodseeker right now. Averaging around a 5-1 K/D ratio lately with him. If I can decently farm early-mid game I seem to become unstoppable.
