I've been playing the Japanese version, and it's quite a bit of fun. Not as complicated as a Final Fantasy Tactics or Tactics Ogre, but still a very fun game in that style. The type advantages/disadvantages make for some fun strategies (each country/kingdom has a type-theme).

Also, Pokémon and Sengoku era! Awesome!

Awesome, I am glad this is making its way over here! It honestly looks like it should be a lot of fun to play, and Pokemon should add a little extra charm to the formula.

See Square Enix? Nintendo can announce a localization of a popular and awaited title THIS fast. What's the hold up for you guys again?

Could I get some clarification here - is this a 3DS game or a regular DS game?

Has anyone here actually played the Japanese version?

The game looks really interesting, but I still have my doubts whether or not it is actually a good game.

I just started it the other day. It's quite good so far. Lots of stuff to do.

It's actually quite fun, though admittedly, in typical PKMN-style, the real fun doesn't begin until after you've completed the main quest.

The main quest, which also does more to double as a tutorial, would give you the wrong impression that things are pretty simplistic and almost too FFT-like. By the time you finally do
beat Nobunaga again
, that's when things really do get interesting, where rival warlords will actually try to invade your shit and it actually starts to do more to play like a Nobunaga's Ambition game. Then there's also the various other free episodes that you can download, a la PKMN Ranger and etc., that continues the story in other ways.

It's an actual* Pokemon game on DS and there are people who thought it wouldn't be localized?

*I need some adjective to deflect people who bring up Pokemon Typing

On the DS and involves a lot of Japanese "history" and is an SRPG.

Hey, there's legitimate doubts somewhere in that sentence.

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.

Not a 3DS title, and some people had worries since the WiiWare Mystery Dungeon games never came over.

NoA's going to bring this over but not Fire Emblem?

Surely they must be saving the FE announcement for E3 or something right?

I believe Fire Emblem has voice acting do that is going to take a lot more work than Pokémon. Wait for E3, only 2 months to go!!! ^_^

Well Nintendo does have a history of not localizing games at the end of a system's lifetime.

I've played a lot of it. It's fun, despite not understanding everything. I imagine when I know how to do more than just win fights it'll be better, still.

And nobody talk smack about that Jigglypuff. Jiggs is a total badass in this game. Just finished the fighting Kingdom or whatever and Jiggs waltzed right in and bitch-slapped the boss for mass damage. Seriously, Jigglypuff's bitch-slap now rivals Golbez' bitch-slap for my favorite slap in games.

Whoa the game that I least expected a localization of. Hopefully this is a sign of NOA not slacking in localizing awesome games.

NOE teh sucks, rannounce it nao (okay theres that German magazine which was like "ehhh, it could happen"). Sorry, its just I get a bit bitter from Americans burning the NOA flag when ever anything gets announced for Europe.

Conquest, eh? I guess would scare people off "hmm the Nobunaga's Ambition version sounds complicated".

And a recent Typing game for the DS, but that makes sense since the whole game was based around learning to teach Japanese kids how to write the names of the Pokemon in romanji.
The Bluetooth keyboard it came with (worked with other devices too) and the cart having bluetooth receiver built in would have also cut down on the profit and given NOA seem very conservative on that front now that would be another reason to go with the work needed (the English names being different would mean a lot of re-balancing to change what monsters appear).
