Halo |OT3| Remember Reach?

Kinect's voice features have the capability of becoming useful in the next gen of hardware if they cut the lag, especially for features or commands you'd have to go through menus for (and thus a single button press isn't faster).

Youtube offers some damn cool graphs and stats about your videos. Last weeks montage has only 2 dislikes and they're both from Canada.

Just really: Never again bind actions like throwing a grenade and the like to Kinect. Its just a betrayal or suicide waiting to happen. I know this from painful experience in Halo Anniversary.

I cant stop laughing. I never watch the Nintendo conferences and I may start now.
Nintendo pretty much lost me with the Gamecube. I haven't enjoyed many of their games since the N64, outside of maybe Twilight Princess. Their obsession with hardware innovation is going to kill off their fanbase. Next up? Screens on controllers. Wooo! That's big time. And Sony and Microsoft were dumb enough to try and copy the crappy motion control nonsense. I just want games that I can control accurately without gimmicks. If motion control was anything more than a novelty, PC games would have failed a long time ago or already had their own motion control systems.

I found it interesting that 343 has teased that there is a new, ancient evil for the main threat in Halo 4, but so far is only showing the Covenant which is said to have a relatively small role in the campaign.

It probably won't happen, but I'd love it if they managed to NOT reveal the main threat, and let us discover it as the game progresses. It will probably hit at E3, but how great would it be if E3 and beyond was focused on MP and the first couple (Covenant-focused) missions.

That would be awesome.

Either way, I really hope we don't see very much of the campaign prior to release. We saw way too much of Reach, and 4 as the added sense of the campaign being shrouded in mystery. I love to keep it this way.

Unless I'm mistaken, we saw significant footage from the first 5 Reach missions:
Winter Contingency
ONI: Sword Base (actually, not sure about this one)
Nightfall
Tip of the Spear
Long Night of Solace

That's over half the damn game!

This year is the Wii-U, so it's bound to be something actually good.

DKCR2, GOTY 2012, sorry Halo 4
DKCR is one of the best 1st party games on the Wii in my opinion, followed by NSMB. I haven't been able to get into a Smash Brothers game since N64, and I have a lot of hate for the Galaxy games. Also, I didn't really care for Skyward Sword after finally playing through it.

Another highlight video consisting of 90% sniper rifle highlights? Woot! Wait, no... Boo. Halo4 save us! I saw a pistol for a brief second and thought we might get to see something new, but it was quickly exchanged for a different weapon. And I don't mean any offense to you Cyren, I"m just so burned out on watching power weapon highlights, sprinkled in with epicly slow DMR encounters. I know it's Reach's fault. :(

Why does every Halo montage have to include a radio-rock song with the words "suffocating" or "breaking down" or "darkness" in it? So emo. Good montage other than that though (Kampy).

Aside from Smash Bros, I agree with everything here

I must know, who's BR was that?

Yea I know what you mean, there haven't been any really good montages, this would be a Top 5 one easily. The DMR doesn't bring the magic as Pistol/BR did for H1-H3.

I have never tried the remale/reboots, so this is absolutely not a judgement on the actual game, but the relentless high level Nbots who got Kid Icarus resurrected after YEARS of campaigning still baffle me. I had the original when it first came out. Believe me, there was no following. They never even bothered with a sequel at the time.

You never had to watch any of that stuff.

I imagine that could only fly if this new mysterious enemy was revealed fairly late on in the game. As it stands I think it'll be quite an early discovery. Say, second or third level.
I dunno. I think it could work that early on provided the presentation is up to it.
That'd be nice, but in what range do you mean that?
That do they a nice build to it (but we know there's a new enemy and are expecting it) or that they do a 3rd contender introduction (e.g. Frankie lying about the Flood, or telling a half truth)?

I did say "reveal." :p Three-way battles would be awesome too. I can't imagine the Covenant appearing in the first level only then disappearing for the rest of the game.

I think most of the people who wanted a sequel to Kid Icarus so badly never really played the original. If you ask me, it's pretty bad (I haven't played the GB one, though). Although, I guess I'm happy that the fans were so relentless about it because the 3DS game is great.

I think Zeouterlimits said that the new enemy can not have a Flood-like reveal because we know that we fight against a new enemy already. Halo: CE could focus completely on the Covenant. They were fresh back then. So Bungie could have hidden the Flood. Personally I knew only that you fought against the Covenant and was completely surprised by the Flood when I had played Guilty Spark the first time.

I could talk now how awesome Guilty Spark is. I would even say it is one of the greatest story-driven level/mission in a videogame ever.

nah, your stuff is kewl. <3

Kampy's montage had some filthy kills. Didn't like the non MLG clips. Doesn't mean he's not a good player but it certainly brings the montage down a few notches in my eyes. I'm glad I wasn't in it. I haven't matched against him that much though.

This is what I suspected. So why did they want it so bad?
