A PS1 game has appeared in the Vita European Store.

with this appearing they must have folders as well right?

i can imagine Ps1 games could fill most of those pages , especially given (by the pic) that it installs like the other stuff.

I seriously hope we get folders. I'm nearing the page limit already.

It's the "splash" area that displays when you tap a bubble.

I'm excited for PSone support, even though I'll buy maybe 1-2 games for it.

What is live area? I keep getting refresh notifications for it

It's the splash page whenever you tap on an app. Notice how it's the PS1 lid above, or the back of the PSP for PSP games, new games/movies on the Store/Video app, etc.

I'm certain it won't take nearly as long for the Vita to get folders as it did the 3DS. That was what... a year and two months? lol

.

Truly a god amongst men. I had no clue what that was myself.

I should really read the manuals.

I have so many PS1 games I want to play on it...

EDIT: Please E3, bring cheaper memory cards and a larger card size... for the love of god...

My only concern with PS1 classics on Vita right now is that I hope they make it so that PS1 games fit the Vitas screen. I want to play Symphony of the Night, and Legend of Mana greatly. I tried playing Symphony on the Dracula X Chronicles, but the screen with borders thing really bothers me, if they fit the screen on the Vita than i'll be spending quite a bit of cash on PSN as soon as this is updated.

I didn't even know the Vita couldn't play PS1 games yet. Well, it will likely be fixed long before I grab one.

A little off topic but how's the err 'speed' of the game on the PS3? Is it 50 Hz, or does it have an option for 60 Hz?

I don't think the game actually worked, so 0Hz at the moment.

To be fair, there wasn't enough content on the 3DS to merit folders until recently. Well, at least not for the plebes (read: non-ambassadors).

Encouraging to see some movement on this. I could really use PSone support at the moment to carry me over until some new stuff hits.

And even i am moderately surprised
Folders and a 64gb card. My 32gb is full and i only have like 4 of my 25 PSP games on there.

what other stuff have you got on there? 4 PSP games and.... ?

Vita games?

They're not exactly small.

yes, i know - i've blown through four 32 gig cards but the post made it sound like ... well, i'm not sure!

saying "i've only got 4 of 25 games on there (oh but wait i've got 9 Vita games on there)" is a little different.

... i think

Yeah, the Vita needs folders much more desperately than the 3DS did. That 100 icon limit is way too low when you consider that pretty much everything (including retail games played off game cards) installs an icon to the menu. It's not likely a problem yet but it could end up being one very soon for some people.

I imagine Nintendo adding folders will have stirred up some competitive spirit in the Vita firmware dev team so hopefully they'll be fast tracked (if they weren't a priority already).

definitely can hit the limit if you start throwing on PC Engine and Neo Geo Games and they need a solution.

NO to alphabet folders - that's pretty shocking if you ask me.

Yeah I could imagine. Things will only get worse when PS1 games arrive and more retail software is released (those "permanently" installed live areas sound like a killer).

PAL PSOne games are all 50hz, bordered, slow and terrible. Fucking SCEE.

Despite being bordered they actually do run a the same resolution. Of course since PAL resolution is anamorphic the boarders do kill the aspect ratio so the complaint is still valid.

Heh, I didn't think Vita had enough games to actually reach that limit! I figured they would eventually add folder functionality once the library grew a bit.

I do find it easier to organize from the get go compared to the 3DS, though, which had a terribly messy home screen.

Well at least SCEI can rely on one man subsidizing their platform for the next few years...

I know I shouldn't talk - I have 3 PSPs and am already planning to buy a second Vita but still...

Not by itself, but the PSP library supplements quite a bit. Heck some PSP games may as well be native/new games with upgraded framerate and controls.

I've only got four retail Vita games but a ton of demos, PSP games, PSN games, apps, etc. The bubble slots fill up quickly.

I sold a few PSPs off but still have my slim and PSP Go... and two vitas... with four battery chargers lol.

you just never know when you'll have a long trip coming up! ;)

i've bought all the games too - except for 3. I'm still the biggest Sony hater, right? ;)

Apart from RE 2 & 3, oddly!

See,,SCEE, it wasn't that hard to put the proper versions up, was it?

Those two were put up because, for some strange reason, they couldn't get the PAL versions of the game working properly.

Now if Sony would just realise that none of the PAL PSOne games are what I'd consider 'working properly'...

That's not really the case - there's nothing wrong technically or with the functionality of the PAL versions (just try an original PS1 disc); the problem has been entirely down to issues with licensing and the fact the games were both published originally by a 3rd party in Europe.

Fortunately the recent introduction of 'imports' has given Capcom them the opportunity to review this and do whatever was required to get the NTSC versions released in Europe, which is great especially in RE2's case as we never got the dual shock edition before.

As for getting the NTSC version of all games I just can't see it happening, as much as I'd like it to be the case. The vast majority of people don't even know there is a difference.
