Okay Microsoft, now that we know you are committed to Steam, I would like to see the Rise of Nations games and Freelancer one day. The fact that they all pre-date GFWL is a bonus.

Looks and sounds pretty cool, and the review scores are decent (80-ish). The price is low enough for me to tolerate GFWL I guess.

What sort of game is it? Something similar to CoH: Tales of Valor?

Tower defense, where you can run around and shoot stuff as well.

Didn't expect Analogue: A Hate Story today, not today though since I still haven't finished Don't take it personally. Anyway, when are those Nyu Media games coming to Steam? I want to get eXceed Collection and Cherry Tree High Comedy Club... :(

I started Civilization IV: Warlords today and had some weird stuff. The text is garbled and not very legible, it says at the beginning I am missing an audio device or something, and (try not to laugh) I got a space victory in 3500 BC. Any solutions?

I just finished Samorost 2. It took me 89 minutes according to Steam. The last puzzle was driving me crazy, but it was a very fun and charismatic game.

Now that I finished Machinarium and Samorost 2 I can finally begin with Botanicula, yay.

I have an extra copy of the beta of that game where you go around murdering hostages so the good guys can't put them in the garage.

Who wants it? PM me.

Gah, just a warning in case anyone will try this in the future: don't try to run Saints Row The Third from an external drive (may be limited to drives 2TB and larger from what I've read). It refuses to start - if you can even get past the launcher, it crashes after the AMD logo.

Going to have to reinstall Steam on C:\ tomorrow now, just so I can get SRTT working. Even using Steam Mover doesn't work, the game refuses to run unless Steam is on C:\ by the looks of it. This also fits with what bonesmccoy said so it seems like that was my problem.

Toy Soldiers is decent enough port...runs real smooth and the controls translate very well to mouse/keyboard.

The only oddity is the selection of resolutions with the highest being 1280x720 for 16:9 and 1680x1050 for 16:10...though playing it at 720p I dont notice any jaggies which is nice.

Ugh, no 1080p support, seriously?

Well, gee, isn't MicroSoft being generous lately with all of these Steam releases? Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet was a blast with mouse-aiming over dual-analog. Toy Soldiers is getting bought some day too.

GFWL is kind of a bummer, but not a deal breaker. Though I do understand why some would really revolt over it. If GFWL is what it takes for me to perhaps enjoy Shadow Complex on the PC, I'd accept that.

I know steam mover works on the principle of symbolic links, would using one for steam itself solve your problem?

Ugh, but I have 1600x900. :(

I am getting all of these random friend requests because people want my TF2 hats. Has something changed recently where my inventory is public or something? Strange. No one has cash money or games, just more BS TF2 hats to trade, lol...

SourceOP, as well as other TF sites, have a backpack viewer for TF2 that lets people view other people's inventory contents. There's an additional paid feature that lets people check on the most recently unboxed unusual hats (the ones worth potentially up to a thousand dollars or more), which is typically used by "sharks" to try to scam hats off of newbies.

Huh. Interesting. Thanks for the quick response, man.

Here's what I have...the dudes want my Bill's Hat. I figure it's worth at least a game or some cash. But they just wanna dump other hats for it. They play coy and ask if I still play the game as if that means I won't want the hats. :)

I Google'd it and found a wiki page (http://tf2wiki.net/wiki/Bill's_hat) - but is there a place to find out the value?

You should be able to get a decent priced game for all those hats. I don't know the exact value off the top of my head though.

There are a few sites I use:

TF2 Price Check - a forum for discussing the value of every type of Unusual hat
TF2 Unusual - this site sort of "catalogs" the higher valued hats that are owned globally
TF2 Outpost - this is the primary TF2-related trade site

The Bill's Hat (typically just referred to as "Bills" by traders) is sort an entry level hardcore trading hat (the regular, yellow hats are worthless for the most part with the exception of Bills and Earbuds). Those are typically traded up for the Earbuds item (a Mac OS TF2 promo item), which are then traded up to the most valuable items -- the Unusual variant hats.

Thanks guys. Those sites are strange to me...but I totally get it. If I were nuts over TF2 I am sure I'd be in there, too. Battlefield 4 will have to implement a similar system...I'd be all over it. ;)

I see that Arkham City is $15.00 on Impulse. Is it bad that I don't wanna support gamestop but that price is mighty tempting. I'd really really REALLY prefer to pick it up on Steam, as I'm trying to keep my DD on just 3 "services", Steam, GOG, Origin. Anyone have any insight to when/if AC might be going on sale on one of those services? I already have it on 360 so I'm in no rush, it's just I put in a GTX 680 and wanna replay AC at a good framerate/resolution.

Serious Sam is a wicked gahbidge series for chowdaheads.

It will definitely be on sale on Steam within a few months.

I love, really LOVE The Witcher 2 is my GOTY of 2011, but FUCK the download system of this game(on Steam)..I dont lie, i downloaded since the release like 70 or more GB...and for my third world conexion(120 kb/s) is like a torture...(remember the massive updates of steam?? in the first months of lunch?)

Why of my comment? i was like 10 GB for the last update, i pause, i close steam and I went to work, i back..and is 0% again! i restart Steam...and nothing...is the same..

Fuck this shit...GOG here I go..

Quantum Conundrum was added to the registry along with a demo and two pieces of dlc.

It would be awesome if the game was released the same day as the Portal 2 DLC. Wikipedia says during summer though, which is not such a long wait.

Nobody has claimed the Hostage Killing Before They Get To The Garage Yet Beta.

Still up for grabs.

I have a friend that would love it. But I understand if you'd prefer to pass it on to a gaffer. Maybe try in the official beta thread? There is also a thread for key begging that has kind of died out.

Any specific reason you're playing Warlords? Unless you're playing the scenarios, you should only be playing Beyond the Sword.
