If I buy Everybody's Golf on PSN will my save from the retail-version work?

It seems to have worked on mine. My high scores, videos and other useless stats have carried over. I haven't tested the dailies yet but I don't think that'll be an issue.

The only thing I did was ensure Everybody's Golf wasn't in the Vita before I bought the game on PSN. I also backed up the save to my PC but I haven't had to use that. If all works OK, it should install in the same bubble where your EG save is right now.

Just how many times does he say "hi-def graphics" in that video? I had to stop watching because that began to annoy me pretty fast.

Bought a Vita last weekend and been playing a ton of Wipeout 2048. The load times are pretty bad as we all know, but I've been enjoying it almost more than I enjoyed Wipeout HD. Maybe that's because it feels so much easier for some reason. Also been playing a bit of Rayman Origins and it looks just gorgeous. Really looking forward to playing Persona 4 for the first time on the Vita and also going to grab Lumines and Gravity Rush when I got time.

2048 probably feels easier because the tracks are wider. It's pretty evident when you disable pilot assist. I recall it being much more difficult to finish a course sans pilot assist in Wipeout HD. I do really like the courses in this version, though that inclination might be the result of playing too much on the PS3.

As someone who has Resistance 3 (but hasn't played it yet), would you think that Burning Skies should be played R3 or it doesn't matter?

I'm interested in picking up Burning Skies but I'll hold off until I've had a chance to start and finish R3 if the Burning Skies story is going to ruin my R3 experience.

Resistance games tend to have their own storyline, so you should be fine. This one takes place wayyy before R3 anyway, when the Chimera first invade America.

People are facing the same problem I faced and stated before: http://www.errolgames.com/2012/05/if-i-could-change-one-thing-about-ps.html

It is really a bad move from Sony. Where can I contact them about those issues so they can take considerations about them when they manufacture their next version?

I disagree with the last part about having the headphone jack on top. Won't the cable hang over the screen while you're watching movies/playing games? Sounds like a pain.

Well do you want to see the beginning of the American invasion first or what happened after America lost?

Well, considering his complaints about the headphone jack location revolve around "I shouldn't have to hold it" with a portable, we can safely strike it out as a valid complaint. Seriously, hardware design for a portable console is going to put the system in your hands over the system on your desk.

Exactly. I hold my system in my hands, so the headphone jack on the bottom is really the only place for it. I guess people wanted them to put two headphone jacks!

How good is The Red Star?

I want some fun action games to play on the Vita. Currently, I only have Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles (mostly for SOTN) FF Dissidia, GTA: Chinatown Wars, Kengi Bancho and Monster Hunter.

I have a bunch of RPGs on the system, and a bunch of Vita titles. But I'm in the mood for some PSP action and adventure games, but I don't know which ones to get. The Red Star looks cool, but I couldn't find much about it.

Sterling gets more hits, lol.

They also had someone other than Dale review Tactics Ogre. 5/10. Didn't go over so well.

If it's a Japanese game and Dale isn't reviewing it, then I usually ignore it. That being said, I like Jim Sterling.

Well, this guy gave Kid Icarus Uprising a 5 and that game was great, so I guess Gravity Rush will be amazing.

Ehhhhhh. Ehhhhhhhh. I really really want to love Kid Icarus but it wears thin very quickly for me. I'm slowly working on finishing it, but I have very little motivation to finish. Right now my biggest issues with the game are the bad movement controls (hate the flick/run and stamina system), lack of weapon progression (I crafted two really good weapons that I've played 90% of the game with), and the length of the stages being twice what they should be for a portable game.

It is hard to say it isn't a quality game, but I don't really find it captivating. Didn't read his review but maybe he was having the same issues I was. I can definitely see Gravity Rush not having mass appeal. I'm stoked for it but I am worried about its sales numbers in the States.

Icarus is an outstanding game. Too bad you don't feel the same.

But yeah, lol at Destructoid's reviews. I'm sure Gravity Daze is a great game, and I'll be definitely getting it day one.

All four Metal Gear Solid games hold up incredibly well and they're still fun to play today. Hopefully Sony will add PS1 support soon so you can play the series in its intended order.

While I agree with most of what you're saying, IMHO the Raiden portions of MGS2 are not nearly as fun as the few parts in which you get to play as Snake. I recently made an honest effort to start replaying the Solid series, but I was only able to put up with the Raiden gameplay for a short time before I decided to bypass the rest of the game and move on to the next in the series. I'm sure people will strongly disagree with me, but I still feel that forcing Raiden on the player in MGS2 was the series' biggest mistake.

Is he a bad character, or is his play style drastically different from Snake's?

Just copped mortal kombat. Love it so far.
Next to uncharted and stardust HD only games worth having in my opinion.

The OS needs lots more work.
Installing games is slow
Deleting also
Connecting online is slow
Webbrowser is fast but is developed for 1995 hardware
No flash
No youtube
No way of sorting the apps/ games on the home screen in a decent way

In PSN , games you allready installed arent marked so its confusing and you end up often downlaiding it twice
Psp games arent documented with pics or movies in psn.
Would it kill you sony to put some mandatory pics and movies about the games you TRY to sell?

Whishlist :

Dlna
Divx and other codecs support
Optimised webbrowser with flash

I'm just wondering what the hell is up with SoundShapes. It's the one title I've been waiting for to justify buying a Vita, but it seems to be stuck in eternal development hell. I hope E3 will bring word of a firm release date for the game.

Also, I really, REALLY hope that new DJ MAX game for the Vita gets brought to the US as well. That, too, is a game that would get me to finally buy a Vita...

The Red Star is a great sleeper title to pick up. The combat is very satisfying. You have different guns which can be switched on the fly and an arsenal of melee combos for when enemies get too close. Certain sections of the stages have you dodging bullets shmup style. You can upgrade your guns and buy abilities/combos after each level with points you earned in the stages. There are three playable characters.

they just put out news about corrobation.

and DJ max is coming out to US as well (along with JP and KR). LE is coming but the details for that haven't been finalized.

The recent news about Sound Shapes was sony's gentle way of letting us know it's not coming till the end of the summer. As far as I know there's no official date, but that's what it's looking like.

It was only announced last E3 and we've had quite a few updates in the last few months.

How does that constitute "development hell"?

Hi GAF
Lost me Vita adaptor/USB cable :(
Anywhere I can import one at an affordable price? I'm in the UK and it's not released here apparently (the fuck?) And the other brands can be a bit hit or miss

As far as I know, there have only been a scant few updates over the past year, with a lot of radio silence in between. It was supposed to be a "launch period" title for the Vita, so when that period came and went with no news of a release date after already having relatively few updates on the game, "development hell" seemed like a likely scenario.

Don't misunderstand me, though. I'm looking forward to the game as much as anyone, and I'm definitely not talking crap about it -- as I said, it's the only Vita title I've played so far that I liked enough to make me want to buy a Vita. It's just taken a long time to get here is all, and things have been relatively quiet on the development front. If I missed an update or two, though, I'm totally fine with being wrong.

Good to know about DJ MAX -- I wasn't aware that there had been an official US confirmation (last I heard it was just a "possibility"). I'm definitely excited for it -- the Vita is a perfect fit for Technika's gameplay.

Sounds good. I've just been itching for some kind of action game. I have too many RPGs on my system, and not enough time to really play them. But I loves da RPGS!

Thanks for the info!

It would be insane to have the headphone port on the top, or even the side. And the official Sony case doubles up as a stand, which would fix his watching on his table issue.

As for the cart port being hard to open, I'm surprised he's into video games in the first place if he was born with club hands.

I don't know, the cart port is kind of stupid. It looks nice, though.

Licorice-flavoured booze?
Just picked up WipEout 2048 secondhand (poor person atm), luckily an unused online pass was included, love the 'autolog' type system competing on friends leaders boards is really addictive, also grabbed Uncharted, looking forward to getting into that later.

I'm so glad they changed their minds and are bringing it to vita as well!

JET SET RADIO

--also gravity rush, I heard the story was short (10hr - no side quests only challenges), unrevealing/unsatisfying story at the end ( next title ) and generally cheesy. Gameplay looks fun so I am keeping my preorder but not expecting a complete package (AAA game) really.

Most of the reviews for Gravity Rush are glowing. Also, while the game is not particularly long, it's not a mere 10 hours. One reviewer actually mentioned a collecting element that is pretty engaging since the game focuses on fun traversal.
