Halo |OT4| Trust's a Tough Thing to Come by These Days

I just looked through all the stuff I got with Halseys journal with the Reach legendary edition. I hope we'll get as much cool stuff in that UNSC infinity thing as we did then.

Yeah, that thing is seriously amazing, so much attention to detail. Maybe they will manage to deliver something as cool as that.. I at least hope so.

Anyways, not long til e3. =)

I completely despise SR3, it started out fine but became a horrible cluster fuck of boring gameplay stupid humour and cheese.

It went past being ironically bad and just to plain bad bad

I feel bad for the other movies that have to pretend like they'll be as good as Prometheus and The Dark Knight Rises.

I'm more hyped for Prometheus which is kinda weird. I already know Batman and that it's going to be awesome. Prometheus just intrigues me so fuckin much. Also, Fassbender >

Huh? August is not soon...
It's opening early next month for us lucky ones. :)

Goes into Firefight, people vote for Arcadefight every time. SMH
It's pretty terrible. Why the NEP gametypes aren't ALWAYS at the top of the list now is beyond me. You don't want to try the Limited this week anyway unless you go in with a group of 3 or more; the two times I've played it recently have me being the last man standing in the first round with all Elites because everyone else is a moron.

I'm probably going to splooge all over the IMAX screen, but I just wish they hadn't put so much into the trailers and TV spots that are nigh unavoidable. What a great fucking year for movies though.

The real lucky ones get it on the 30th of this month. >=(

Shiiiiit I'm seeing Prometheus avatars popping up now. We're so close.
Awww yeah! I think it's awesome that Prometheus opens right after E3 ends. It's like you don't have to be totally bummed that all the cool stuff ended. June 8.. just around the corner. June 4, even closer.

I watched Alien for the first time last night. It's cool considering when it was made, and I liked what they were going for, but there was practically no story developed. Maybe it's in the sequel/s?

You are talking about lucky ones and us. But I belong to the lucky one group but not in the us group. Shit. Fuck soccer.
If it makes you feel any better, I might wait until the end of June to see it for the first time with some friends that are coming to town for a visit. It'll be a tough wait.

I have purposely stayed away from watching anything else after I saw the trailer with The Avengers. That was more than enough for me, and I'm getting rather tired of trailers that needlessly oversell a movie.

Like I said, I've just watched the first Alien for the first time.

Alien spoilers:

You see a space jockey, and they investigate it for 2 seconds before moving on. The rest of the movie was them moving through some dark lit scifi coridors chasing after a cat and the alien. They didn't develop any characters or background. What's the space jockey, who is the corporation that's hired them and how are they so incompetent to allow the crew to detonate the ship, what's the deal with mother and why did the corporation allow ripley to see the mission objectives through the computer, Wait, that guy is an android? wtf? And seriously, WTF are alien eggs doing out there in the first place and why/how does the corporation know about them.

It poses a lot of questions, it's intriguing and I will watch the seqeals, which I assume will actually answer some questions, but the first movie has so far been about some random folks on a ship chasing something around a ship. Not a lot of the story was developed of fleshed out.

Imagine you were Ripley, and all that shit happened to you last night. Now, would you have a story to tell or not? I can't help but think you would come into the forum and say, "Hay guys, I lost my cat last night but it finally showed up in my lcoker of all places."

Try Doubles. I've gotten a few Limited games in lately there.

The chest burster scene takes place over halfway through the film, after a great deal of plot has developed; the characters are actually knocked off pretty rapidly after. It's a methodicaly paced film, but if you stop and think about what actually happens, the backstory of the alien ship and the situation with the crew (Ash's orders), there's a lot going on. Some left to the imagination, some merely implied. Not to mention creepy sexual and rapey overtones to the entire film adding an usettling level to everthing, on top of Giger's designs and Scott's stunning photography and direction.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the movie. I was hoping for them to reveal more about the background story as I posted above in spoilers. Ripley had all of what, 8 lines in the movie? " "Don't open the air lock"

I know I am missing a lot by not having seen the sequels, which, again, I am about to watch.

Actually, if I were you, I wouldn't. I think seeing 1, and then Prometheus is perfect. Aliens is a great film but doesn't even need to be Aliens. It could be werewolves and it wouldn't make a lick of difference. The other two movies are rough-to-questionable. In terms of lore, 1 and Prometheus have the most direct connective tissue.

You know, I think you are going to enjoy the shit out of SpOps.

I hope so. It sounds great. I'm hoping to see how it looks/plays/is structured soon. Really hoping for flexibility in custom options, but at the very least, a rock-solid core to the combat.

Reach's Firefight is deeply flawed and is still fun as hell thanks to a great combat feedback loop.

Watching Alien while knowing the theories about that take the movie to new levels of tension and fear. Shudders

It would be a mistake to think of it as a literal replacement for FF - it has more differences than similarities, but the scope is VERY different. It will scratch that itch for sure, but it's pretty different.
