Losers! My wife has me on lock!
I have 512MB of Rambus DRAM memory in my PC, and I was wondering if I add more memory, does it have to be RDRAM memory???

yes .... and you are ****ed

edit: I don't want to be derogatory but RDRAM price is high (low demand). You upgraded your computer at the worst time. I know my computer at work is using RDRAM and we can't get a ram increase. :(

I really only was looking at getting 256-512 more; I'll probably get a new CPU in the next few years anyways. But is it really expensive for that amount of memory?

how fast is it? The price in RDRAM varies quite a bit because the choices are much more limited. check out www.pricewatch.com for a good comparison.

I'm in the same boat. I have 256 RDRAM in my cpu, so I tried buying memory off ebay, saw the prices, and then I went into shock :lol

For the price to get 1 gig, I could buy a new computer.

Pairs? You mean I would have to have 512 to match the original 512?

if you have just one 512 chip, then yes

my old computer had 2 256 chips. i never did upgrade it, bought a mac mini instead
