About Mirror of Fate? 4chan, CVdungeon forums and that Dutch website. LoS2 on Vita/WiiU? Paul Gale only as far as I'm aware. Original leaker on 4chan even said he knew nothing of that.

I thought this was the first leak:

I think the Splinter Cell rumor says Wii U as well.

I like to go with the outlook of expecting new and fun things from Nintendo and their second party. Expect nothing from 3rd party developers and publishers except empty talk (like all those developer comments they showed in the pass). I only take them at their word when the game is on the store shelves or can be ordered online. This way I'm not disappointed unless Nintendo themselves drops the ball. To go even further I remove certain developers completely from consideration. Those that fall into that category are Bethesda, Konami (especially anything Kojima related), and Epic.

I think you can safely add in the EA Sports annual lineup.

Now I liked Prime 3, but I just thought the fairly straight forward "save the world from an alien threat" storytelling was largely unineresting despite the numerous action scenes. I would have liked to see meaningful character development between Samus and the bounty hunters and Dark Samus not be such a lame one-dimensional villain. I would have liked to have seen some insight into what Samus was thinking while dealing with some of the major plot points.

I love Prime 3, but I did lol at the end credits montage of her thinking about all the 'friends' she had killed. With no real relationships built between them, it seemed more like she was wistfully reminiscing about murdering them rather than thinking of comrades fallen. Seriously, if they'd made her model smile the entire time it would have been hilarious.

I'm not particularly interested in what Samus is thinking, and would certainly prefer she never vocalises her thoughts in-game ever again (Other M), but the first Prime game nailed story telling through Lore much better than the games that followed. Even if you didn't know what Samus was thinking, it made *you* think for her, as a player. You'd think and you'd worry. You'd read Pirate logs about what they were working on, things like the recovery of Ridley, or work on Metroids, infusing them with phazon - and you'd instantly start thinking -- oh shit, something scary is coming up. The amusing entries about space pirates trying to replicate Samus' morphball technology and things like that -- genius! That's what they need to recapture in terms of story telling imo. The X-Parasite stalking Samus in Fusion had a similar effect. Samus does have dialogue in that game, but it really didn't need it.

This perfectly explains why Prime is nothing short of a masterpiece.

The lore was amazing, and sense of immersion and isolation was the best I've seen in a game.

Not yet. We need something huge confirmed for the engine to start rolling.

If all those rumored games are announced then it will be nice.

Also...I think the rumored splinter cell game was on that fake blockbuster list.

Speaking of... where are we on believing Acid Ghost?

Or has that fallen to the wayside completely?

I think it was said to be fake.

Nah, there is a new Splinter Cell rumor going around, it's on the gaming side.

If there even ends up being one, I'd like to call dibs on the next WUST after Conor's. If no one has objections, of coure. :p

Nibs got dibs before that, I believe. Unless he doesn't want it.

…ye gods, I just realized that my earlier plan ("build up hype through to the last week of May then start massively de-hyping in preparation for N-Conf") has actually been going forward despite me forgetting about it.

Random guy comes into IRC, claims to be a Nintendo rep, says Platinum game is coming to Wii U, and people even humour the idea?

You guys. You guys.

*reads part of post* Oh, shit, there's a Platinum game coming to Wii U? REHYPED!

I'm so into my new project of building a geodesic dome that I'll actually need incredibly big news from Nintendo's own hand to actually hype me up

I think it was said to be fake.

Therefore we will only believe it harder.

Haven't we had developers flat out saying they can't talk about a Wii U version. Even in the past week with the Darksiders 2 folks?

THQ interview with Eurogamer just yesterday

There are other interesting things from Danny Bilson interview pertaining to Wii U

Do you want to release Wii U versions of all your multiplatform games going forward?

Danny Bilson: To be determined. Everything with us has to be very specific choices. Look, we have a lot of money but we don't have as much money as the other guys. So we have to be very specific and careful about our choices going forward. We felt Darksiders is a fantastic Wii U title. It echoes - I'm not going to say it echoes classic Nintendo gameplay because I don't know what that means exactly - but we thought it was a great fit for that platform and we wanted to be there with one of our great titles day one for their platform for their launch, and that one seemed the best fit to do a great Wii U game.

Is that because people compare it to Zelda?

Danny Bilson: Perhaps.

You just didn't want to say that.

Danny Bilson: Yeah.

Metro was announced for Wii U at E3 last year.

Danny Bilson: It would be later. That's all I can say.

It's a little relief for the Metro case :)

Third-parties titles & demos brought at E3 2012 are currently burned on Wii U "bluray" or it's already done recently for some.

Guys, it's coming !

Why is this a big deal...? It's either that or run the games off a drive...

This is the speculation thread - every little tidbit is like a nose of cocaine

It's just interesting because they didn't use it last year - I wonder how big those "blu-rays" are

IdeaMan

My source is my ass!
Where you got that info? O:

It's a continuation of an earlier post where i said that studios received the newest dev kit, with separated drives + writers & discs to burn their project on it, they are forced by Nintendo to bring them on bluray (for retail titles). Concretely, if someone play Darksiders 2 on the showfloor, it will be from Wii U discs (or at the very least, the demo was brought on disc).

A tiny hyping tidbit.

Bilson was smart regarding Darksiders on a Nintendo platform. I think Nintendo will let its users know - through digital channels, and through their Future publishing magazines - that its definitely got something of a Zelda flavour, and I think that should help it to do really well on the platform. By making it a day 1 game as well, it stands a much better chance as well. I'll personally be recommending it to every Nintendo fan I know based off my excellent experience with the first game...

Nintendo need to try and make it so that publishers are confident that there is a market for other kinds of games on the platform. I kind of expect an exclusive FPS or well known FPS with exclusive features to be pushed prominently, because its those kind of games and that kind of market that they want to capture better this time around.

Yeah. I don't get why this is such a big deal. We know the Wii U is using bluray media. What else would the games be on if not that or on a hard drive of some kind? What's the point of posting about that?

Safe to say, the Wii U won't actually be using Bluray discs though? Just an identical format, without the movie playing capabilities?

IdeaMan

My source is my ass!

It's not a big deal, it's a little info, and as explained earlier, it could have been different, like their projects being brought on SD cards or by other storage means like at E3 2011, but it's not the case, Nintendo made an obligation to bring their demos on discs, and they are currently or it's already the case, burned.

Imagine the discs in the wallet of people coming at E3 soon. It's a little additional brick building our hype ! :)

Yeah. Nintendo doesn't want to pay the licensing fees.

You are starting to sound like a crazy person. I think this insider position has gone to your head a little bit.

Nintendo once said that was possible to make the Wii to play DVD, it's up to the consumer to pay the licensing fees. this was end up dismiss of cos'. but it will be wonderful in case for Wii U :O :O :O :p
