Wreck-It Ralph first pics (Disney movie based on video games)

looks great except Zangief was pulling a maaaajor Dreamworks-face, complete with accompanying hand-jive. I wish I never had to see that expression in a 3d animated film ever again.

But I'm definitely watching this one!

edit: hungry Q-bert and friends makes me sad ;_;

Hail, peons, for I have come as ambassador from the great and bountiful Blueberry Butt Explosion
That support group was so fantastic. That in itself sold me on the movie.

I was kind of hoping Bison had said something, though. Hopefully he does in the full movie.

I was surprised Eggman didn't talk either. Hopefully in the full movie. Wonder if their VAs will be the same.

read it as : Disney 'movie based' video game
saw the screens
told: holy christ, next gen is hre... and couldn't believe it...

looks really beautiful nonetheless, can't get enough pixar and disney cartoons

Well I think Mike Pollock actually said something about being involved (before he should have, IIRC), and that scene will be more than what was in the trailer, so I'd say there's a good chance

How the hell did you get Seth mcfarlane out of this trailer?

Because they're simple references. There's nothing deeper to it. It is not really any different from this twenty years ago

Except now it's a Disney movie and has John C. Reily in it.

Writing video game humor is hard. You can't make it too esoteric, but making it too broad dilutes the point. The easiest route to go is just pandering. You know who no one ever sees anymore? Q-Bert! So let's represent him as abandoned and in need of food. That's easy to do and people will get it. Why is Zangief in a villain meeting? Because he has a Russian accent. Simple.

I'll see it, and will be happy to admit I'm wrong, but at every junction I have seen this movie since it was rebooted, I have been pretty unimpressed. Like I said, writing video game humor is hard. The easiest path doesn't impress me.

I was hoping for Who Framed Roger Rabbit for video games. That movie was more than drawings representing Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny in the same scene. It was Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny, the characters, in the same scene.

Clockwise from Ralph:

- Generic devil/demon
- Smoke... or maybe just generic ninja
- Bowser
- Zangief
- Robotnik
- Bison
- Pac-man ghost
- Generic killer robot?
- Generic sexy dark elf?
- Purple rhino. What?
- Generic alien
- Kano
- Generic zombie

Where's Dr. Wily? I saw him in early leaked shots of this scene, where Smoke is sitting.

I bet it was Capcom's doing. :(

Yeah, it's just cameos. How else would you handle it really? Getting these characters in there is awesome.

Yeah. It looks like it's taking the same approach to games as Toy Story and Roger Rabbit took to toys and cartoons, which is exactly what I hoped for. They're there, but the jokes don't seem to be, "HEY, REMEMBER THIS GUY?"

This movie looks delightful. I'm actually really curious to see where they take the story. It's not the typical Disney fare of saving the princess or the world. It's about a guy who's unhappy with his place in life and is trying to turn it around. And isn't that something we can all kinda relate to?

Looks like that's EXACTLY what they're doing. Q*Bert says "!(#*" Get it? Huh? Zangief has a russian accent. Haha. Hilarious. That ghost just turned blue. See, cause the ghosts turn blue when they're scared. Remember? That's what they do. It's referencing things, remember? You like video games, you like movie. Go see movie referencing things you liked as a kid. But seriously, when have games gotten so violent? Isn't that so true? So true.

The dark elf reminds me of an MMO character. Like from Wizard101 but it wasn't that villainess.

This movie has references to video games; therefore I should like it, right?
Yeah gamers these days are jaded so when videogames are referenced you should be jaded.

Purple Rhino is wearing some armor, so he's probably a bad guy in a Golden Axe-style beat em up.

trailer looked amazing, even though the music was awful. but damn, seeing all those guys at the support meeting was amazing

i think the green thing is supposed to be a beholder. and the purple rhino is the final boss from altered beast

Ralph doesn't really look like a villain. Should have gone with a more menacing look, like the original Shrek movie had, or at least, a less dumb look, like the original donkey kong had, where you knew he was having fun kidnapping Pauline.

But nope, this is Disney, so the giant guy has to look dumb and nice.

He truly looks out of place in the villain meeting.

Trailer was meh, but I guess that when Felix speaks Q-bertese is funny.

Oh yeah, the rhino does look like the final boss from Altered Beast. The armor seems to be the same or very similar.

Donkey Kong was once a villain.

Nice. Was already interested, by the screens. But trailer looked good. Unless it gets slammed on release, think I'll be checking this one out.

Not surprised that the trailer is already posted here after I saw it about 10 minutes ago.

Really love how they got the actual characters in here, and I wonder if there will be a lot more cameos, or just these here and a couple more.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
I want to see this.
