I really hate asking for favors but..

U4ix just landed in LA (he's working the MLG event in Anaheim), is there any possible way for him to get into E3 to try Halo 4? Not sure how the producers work for E3. He's willing to take a cab.

Probably not. When Halo 4 releases it will be Halo 4 OTs until the next game.

The general Halo |OT| was just because of the Anniversary/Reach overlap.

Here's the conversation I had with a mod when I asked about making general Halo OTs.

Me said:
The current Reach OT thread in Community - the 7th - is nearing the thread cap of 20,000 posts.

Over the course of the year, discussion in the thread has expanded beyond a focus on Reach as other Halo content has been released. New novels, the CEA release, Halo 4 rumors/speculation, etc. have all become a large share of the threads. That's led to a lot of discussion about whether the next OT should be titled for Reach, or to be something along the lines of a broader Halo Universe thread.

Going with that framing for the thread would be less about changing the purpose of the OT and more about acknowledging the ongoing scope of discussion. My thought is the Reach OT's could be rebranded Halo Universe discussions until the release of Halo 4 (at which point we'd have a Halo 4 OT).

The intent wouldn't be to replace ongoing or future Halo threads, but rather to make it clear that discussion of all things Halo is okay in the thread.

That sounds pretty much in-line with how we view the evolving function of the Community forum. As fans of specific franchises get together and discuss about something over a long period of time, the scope of the discussions tend to expand. To prevent such discussions (which are totally valid, but simply off topic in many threads) from derailing actual news threads about new products in such a franchise, we have started encouraging Community Franchise threads for most of the bigger (and smaller but with a strong niche) game franchises.

So what you are suggesting is certainly welcome, and would definitely be consistent with what is expected of discussions which take place in the Community forum anyway. Feel free. :)

I definately prefer having one active Halo Community thread, so I'll probably go with the series of Halo 4 OT's, perhaps transitioning to just Halo again down the road.

In the podcast Dani seemed pretty down on a beta simply because the reach beta didn't do much for the game in terms of balance.

I disagree but for the sake of discussion, even if bungie didn't do any balance stuff based off the beta
That's mosty because of bungies design mentality right, the data to work from is there and that's the main thing, I still think a beta would have been hugely beneficial considering 343 seems more open to changing and reacting to community feedback.

I also think a beta is required to dodge bugs and refine netcode and that stuff. Would have been nice to have a large scale beta .

Still wondering who these blue Prometheans are, the orange ones are obviously under the Didacts influence and like I said in the last thread these ones might be under the control of the Librarian or maybe the now Rampant Cortana has something to do with it?

*shakes finger*

It has not all been positive Louis Wu... and you know it!
Hasn't all been negative or neutral, which means there's positivity. I'm happy to see it. :)

Everybody's waving their finger at me - I feel like I'm 5 and stole a cookie again!

I think they are different ranks withing the ''Promethean army''. Like how you had blue, red and gold elites in the previous halo games.

I've got an outline of a speculative article on the fiction/gameplay - look out for this weekend. I don't think I've seen anyone else even notice the colours. It's a big clue methinks. :D

Jelly is the color of playing the game at E3

My guess was that they were just different colored enemies without no real purpose as to why they are blue :lol

By the way, I like the blue colors more than the orange. Feels more "Halo-ey".
