Honestly I don't even know why I typed that lol. I definitely thought it would do around 100k and I thought the 3DS sold less than 100k in May.
Edit: Yeah the 3DS revision news likely had very little impact on 3DS sales. To be honest, isn't their some lowered expecations to be celebrating 155k?
Announced online the last week of the month. If it's going to have an impact, it'll more likely be in July's numbers.

I'm happy to admit that I underestimated Nintendo sales. It's not bad to be wrong. There were factors that I either didn't consider enough or that I totally spaced on. We learn, though, and try to do better moving forward.

With the Xbox numbers I just realized that this was a 5 weeks month, I made my prediction based on a 4 weeks month.......LOL :/

I think this month could confirm something I started thinking some time ago: in this times of crisis, people spend money when they have it, literally. Concentration of purchases when there are some occasions ( beginning of Summer, Black Friday sales, Holiday, salaries ) and pretty big drops compared to the same months of other years when these don't happen.

Wonder what caused the sudden "spike" in 360 sales. Guessing it has something to do with it being summer holidays in the US.
Wow. ~12K/week or 30% increase over May. Pretty good.
Though a 49.3% decrease over Microsoft's ultra bizarre 507K performance last year.

Damn, my initial predictions were closer before I revised after the general doom and gloom sentiment...
Also, for PSP the average weekly sales have been around the 6K mark for Feb and Mar based on Nintendo charts. Not sure if they'd be lower now.
That would mean around 70K for PSV if it held through until June though.

Btw not really, 3DS is not doing the numbers it should do to be considered truly successful, even Iwata/Nintendo acknowledged it, and let's be honest, everything under 200k monthly in the US is kinda weak.
At this point the only products doing relatively well are the 360 and PS3 and both are down yoy.

Yeah MS running the free 360 thing is the likely cause of the big spike.
It would be pretty terrible if the 3DS wasn't number 1 in August with a 2d Mario release and the XL. Those are basically what Nintendo is betting their 3DS FY on.

I could be way off, which is why I added the qualifier. You didnt listen to what iwata said, 3ds sales are normal in the west ( momentum is different) and higher than what the ds was doing and that needed 2+ years to stabilize. The sales are fine, for now.......

handheld are not X360 competitors so it won't be an issue for npd numbers
