So about that second disc....limited edition content? FUD? Or just campaign and multiplayer split onto two discs?

I wouldn't mind the second disc for multiplayer as long as we can install and play off the first similar to Forza 3 and 4. However, I would love some limited edition on disc stuff.

Disc 2: Behind the scenes look at the packing of the LE.

Jetpack and Shotgun as a primary weapon.

How many people are going to post this sentiment?

It's a custom loadout. (Look at the damn name, fergoshsakes.) Did you never play Shotty CTF on Battle Creek?

You will not see this loadout in standard matchmaking.
Can we all stop freaking out over stupid stuff?

But being stupid is so much easier!

Actually... that's not entirely true...

You're right in that, barring some crazy playlist, you will not see shotgun as a loadout in standard matchmaking.

However, if I recall, custom loadouts are suppose to be a big thing in Halo 4. You unlock weapons and other abilities to put them in your loadout. Custom tailoring it your playstyle. You can use your own loadout in Halo 4... but there are playlists that will restrict things, apparently.

You can't be serious

Think about it.

Because Firepower exists, one can assume that secondary weapons are exactly that. Side arms and other small weapons.

Now, that can mean that shotgun is either too powerful to be a primary (and subsequently a secondary) weapon or it has been nerfed to the point that it's on par with the other secondaries.

The latter feels extremely unlikely to me as I'm sure it does to many. Who knows? I don't. Over doesn't. No one does.

Yeah, it's pretty stupid when just earlier that day, David Ellis posted that the shotgun isn't a starting weapon some people still freak out about an old beta image.

You expect too much of too little.

Sorry, I didn't read every single post.

But if I'm correct, I even posted on the page before that image was posted that David said the shotgun isn't a starting weapon. I don't expect people to read every page but if you can quote the image, you can also read the posts on the same page that stated the shotgun wasn't a starting weapon.

It would almost have to be the MP on the second disc.

- it's an Xbox disc
- MP requires a hard drive
- the required space for 4 multiplayer is a bit over the space you have available on a 360 DVD9 (it's not the full capacity of DVD9 due to the security sector) which is now roughly 7.5-7.8GB

You probably put in Halo 4, and if it detects no MP maps it'll prompt you to insert the second disc so it can install them. Maybe. Who knows.

Completely and utterly baseless speculation and pipedreaming: the initial Halo 4 MP disc won't actually have 8GB of install, but having the 8GB minimum requirement leaves the door open for doing a Halo 4 Mythic Map Disc where every MP map after all 3 are out is on the DVD and it installs all of them. Since you've already required 8GB of free space to be available, users won't get confused as to why they were able to install the base disc but not H4Mythic.

Completely and utterly baseless speculation Turbo Alpha HD: You cannot have a single content package on 360 be over 2GB (hardware limitation). The initial Halo 4 install will be 2GB. This leaves them the maximum potential filesize for a worst-case scenario of 2GB for each map pack. (3x2GB = 6GB + 2GB from the install = 8GB). Perfect safety net even though I wouldn't expect any single pack to break the 1GB mark. Anniversary had 7 maps on it and it only got up to 1.1GB, 3 map packs would have to try real hard to get up there. The lone anomaly is Defiant which went from something like around 300MB in the early code giveaway period to 600MB when it went public because they had to do something to it for some reason (I think Frankie might have explained why in the thread)

edit: everyone's posts look like longposts in 800x600.

Or you need the 8GB for the whole Spartan Ops Season which sounds as the reason for the 8GB required. (For me because Spartan Ops is completely digital, right?)

Hope this and hope we'll get FUD EE on the second disc. Waypoint app video player is crap.

FuD? I'm pretty sure it's confirmed that it's download only. Plus isn't it going to be on the Machinima Youtube channel or something? (Which is better than Waypoint, obviously)

The Director's cut won't be on Machinima Prime channel because it is exclusive to the Limited Edition. It will be watchable via HaloWaypoint (console) app.

If I recall correctly, Frankie already said FUD won't be on the disc.
Yeah... I just wish it would be.

Standard version, yes. But while Youtube is better than Waypoint, it doesn't have particularly better quality...

Unless they make the video player better, i guess i'll leave the thing unwatched.
Too bad.
At very least they should provide HD download...

I may be way off base understanding what you're saying here but why wont we see this loadout in Standard Matchmaking. Players can independently name loadouts, id imagine since that shot is from beta the "banned" words list is not implemented but still.

You can also pick starting weapons and the firepower perk allows for 2 Primary weapons to be used, the only way we wont be able to get loadouts like this in matchmaking is if the shotgun is changed from a spawn weapon as it was in the beta to a loadout weapon, which seems pointless thanks to the addition of the scattershot, which is essentially Shotgun 2.0. Shotgun as loadout makes sense when looking at the sandbox (gameplay aside)

It would almost have to be the MP on the second disc.

Wait didnt the new disk's cut the security sector down to a a few hundred MB's

You cannot have a single content package on 360 be over 2GB (hardware limitation)..

Iv never heard of this before, got an explanation or source?
How do GoD games work?
I know XBLA games are limited to 2GB but i do not know why.

This reminds me - can you still watch the waypoint commentary for Reach that came with the Legendary Edition? If so, I could really use a map to help me find it.

...actually, never mind. My Gold expired a few days ago, so now I only have access to five preview items. This is actually pretty funny, in its monumentally shitty way! Exclusive bonus content! Pre-order now! Also, be sure to resubscribe to Gold in order to watch a freaking streaming video that you kinda-sorta paid for.
