Easiest way is to probably call your ISP. You could try the port forwarding link from a couple posts up if you don't want to call them and see if that fixes your issue, but if your ISP is restricting it, port forwarding won't do a whole lot.

I did port forwarding with the help of Xbox Live Tech Support (via Twitter) a few months ago. It stuck for a week, and that was the last solution in a long line of them. I'll call Comcast (barf) when I get back from camping.

3 months till we never have to play Reach again!

Worst upcoming 3 months of my life!

Comcast (barf)

Well there's your problem! I hate dealing with Comcast customer support... did you turn off the modem and turn it back on... can you do that again.... oh its not us, it must be on your end.....

I just get angry right away and demand to speak with a supervisor. It normally gets the job done.

Watching Iowa football players recover our fumbles since 2009?

Nebraska/Iowa rivalry is so vanilla and will be about as exciting as the Nebraska/Colorado one.

Iowa State recovering those fumbles. Still one of my all time favorite ISU games. Nebraska had what, 9 turnovers in Lincoln? :p

Enjoy the Big 10.

By the end of that one it stopped being sad and turned into a hilarious show. We were actually rooting for Iowa State to break 10 at that point :p

Butterfingers, all of you

edit: OH GOD I JUST REMEMBERED HOW MANY OF THOSE WERE NEXT TO THE ENDZONE

edit2: speaking of football, something the Canadians get right. We should have this rule.

What kind of router do you have Ghal?

Having used the same Comcast line as yourself, I've had nary an issue in the past.

I've recently went back and played a bunch of games of Halo 3 and realized how dated it feels. The movement speed is so slow it feels like I'm playing the game in slow motion much of the time. The jump is also wonky and is too floaty. The BR is very inconsistent. When your shots land it is satisfying though.

The sniper is not as satisfying as the Reach snipe as well. Might just be the sound of it but can't put my finger on it. The slow movement speed also makes sniping easier in some ways but headshots are harder I think.

Purely game mechanics wise I definitely think that Reach MLG > H3. Too bad there are only like 5 maps in matchmaking and half of them are forged.

The IP address assigned to your Xbox might have changed. You can setup your 360 to always have the same IP address. You might want to check to make sure the ports you forwarded are still going to the IP address that is given to your 360 by your router.

I like me some Halo 2 over Xbox Live... oh wait....

Xbox Connect?

I use it, but as FyreWulff said... joining games is asking for modders, and my connection is spotty when hosting... I'm fighting with comcast over my upload speed which is severely hampering my ability to host quality games.

Xlink Kai?
XBSlink?

How is that any different than XBL? lol

At least on xbc you can boot them.

I use Xlink Kai but only South Americans play Halo 2. The only problem with it is that there really isn't a variety of maps people play on. Its either Lockout or Beaver Creek.

In my Xbox Connect experience, its been, shitty connections everywhere, no one playing, douchebags playing wrong. If you are getting lucky good for you.

Select got removed because the creator of the map pissed off the wrong people. Its removal has nothing to do with the map itself.

lol whut? Uncaged a map which is pure shit is in, but a map that was at least decent got removed just because he pissed of CCs? (or whom?)
The CCs were generally against its removal until the reasons were revealed.

"Don't poke the bear that feeds you", is how i would put it.

Also, Burnie Burns gives great hugs.

(just got back from holiday in Toronto)
RvBTO? (Why would anyone else from a gaming forum holiday there?)

I disagree, I think the Reach sniper isn't satisfying to use. It's too easy

Enjoy your modders

It's needs some organization.

Yo Cyren and other THC nerds. Pick a day out of the week, or once every 2 weeks and make that Halo 2 XBC day. Spread the word and get people used to having a certain day set aside for Halo 2. Let's say it's Tuesdays. Every Tuesday people will have other people to play H2 with. Done and done.

True. If i can get 2 Perfections in BTB with (mostly) the Sniper in the same week, in close evenly matched games with full teams, there is definitely something wrong with it.

At my best i know i am not worthy of a Perfection Medal.

Or you could play halo 2 vista. I know we have a 1v1 vista tourney going right now.

Thanks for the birthday wishes people :D

Hah - didn't even realize I was there during RvBTO. Actually chose Toronto for a variety of reasons. It was on a loop we wanted to drive, it had been over 10 years since I passed through the city, and it's great multicultural place with outstanding food and architecture. Also it was a superb place to see a Sigur Ros concert as it wasn't a music festival. They were brilliant by the way.

All valid points, but the problem then isn't the ranks. It's matching the skill level when you go into matchmaking. So if ranks are hidden but you get the same result of getting matched with people of equal skill, wouldn't all the rest of what you said still apply? I personally wouldn't mind either way if ranks are visible or not. I try to play my best every time regardless of my rank being shown to me or not. But, hey if people want a number by there name, then have your numbers.

A lot of people need carrots, hence numbers, credits, vanity crap. Personally I don't but whatever.

Do these. Also, if your router is DD-WRT compatible (or Tomato compatible) you might consider putting that firmware on your router. I used to have all manner of problems using standard routers on DSL. Now I use DD-WRT routers, one acting as a wireless bridge, and my original 120GB Black Elite model 360 has no problem with NAT or connections.

But as they said, and linked, first do the port forwarding - that might be the quick and simple fix.

Seriously, this. GET A DD-WRT ROUTER. Some may cost a little more, but it's worth the investment to use your connection and network however you wish with minimal hassle and no arbitrary issues because manufacturer firmware is terrible (especially belkin/netgear). With the opensource firmware solution, there is a potential for the latency to actually decrease as well, because you are only running the router functions that you want.

Granted it may take some technical know-how, but the rewards are about as good as you are going to get save from getting an industrial-purposed device.

You can actually just buy the Cisco Linksys E1000 as a refurb on amazon for $19.99. It's fairly straight forward to put DD-WRT on it if you're patient enough to follow directions exactly as they're written. It might not be the easiest for everyone to do, but it will give you an absolutely rock solid router for $20 + 30 minutes of work.
