Valve starts Team Fortress 2 ARG - [Teaser Comic Unlocked]

That comic was pretty damned amazing. I lost it when he suggests trying to turn gravel into coal to power the pregnancy machine.
A new game mode with three teams could be epic. The strategy of how it would work out is intriguing. From the sound of it, it really will be Mann (co.) versus machine. I would love to see the Escort come back or maybe just an AI Hale fighting bare handed.

Well from the comic Grey seems focused on Saxton.

And people were talking about a horde mode type of thing...

That said, 'protecting saxton' just sounds wrong >.> as long as its in a 'dont let him get mad' type of thing.

"Protect the world from the rage of Saxton Hale while you prevent evil baboons and robots to interrupt his nice relaxing work out routine."

That comic was pretty fucking amazing.

Seriously, I though we weren't getting anything from valve for a while because of the sleeping dogs update, but damn this is...

The "Smother you both" panel killed me for a while.

So I wonder if we're sort of at the TF2 Endgame. Not that the game will stop so to speak (way too much in hat sales to do that), but this is the final part of the "story," with
Redmond and Blutarch dead
, a final uneasy alliance against the robot invasion. I'd hoped they'd do something like that one day, but I figured it would be against the Announcer finally going rogue.

My bet is the machines still work, and will simply bring them back to life in a few moments and they will yell more stupid at grey.

Wait...protect Saxton...3 teams...

Could THIS be the return of VIP escort mode?!?!?

Except this time the VIP is more powerful then both teams combined.

So why hasn't anyone taken this to the next craziest step... Barnabas Hale looked mighty sad when Zephaniah's wife died during child birth. Blutarch and Redmond were two blundering blockheads prone to fighting that could really benefit from a shot of austrailium. Grey was a greedy conniving bastard, much like his greedy conniving bastard father.

Am I painting a obvious enough picture here?

But they were triplets.

The pregnancy machine... it exists D:

This is what they've been training us for. The Headless Horsemann, Monoculus, they've been feeding us the idea of both teams fighting a common threat (while still fighting each other).

What's the story with Hale? I read these comics on and off but why does Gray say that he is the only thing worth fighting over?

I believe it's to do with his company manufacturing weapons. (and rather deadly ones at that)
Not a money making scheme, to put it one way.

Basically Red and Blu fight over what amount to gravel pits, and squander their family's vast wealth to do it. Hale is really the only person out of all of them that makes any money and I'm pretty sure that's how Zephaniah wanted it. Gray wants his daddy's money, all of it.

He could be talking about Mann Co. itself. The brothers have spent 150 years fighting over gravel and territory, while their own father's company makes billions.

Also, someone pointed out the following:

A) Barnabus Hale is more concerned about Bette's death than Zepheniah
B) Bette's maiden name was Bette Darling
C) Saxton Hale's mentor was a man named Charles Darling, who turned on him because of Saxton's obedience to the Administrator

fake edit: Saxton actually uses an eagle to survive the encounter.

I may be reading a bit too into this, but could they be possible hinting at a Wii U version of the game? TF2 has always grabbed me as the perfect game for the system. We would have the option of using the Wii U controller, which by itself offers endless possibilities in regards to the screen, but we would also have the option of using the Wiimote, which is easily the best input device for FPS (as we've seen time and time again).

Not to mention the fact that the Wii U's online component will easily blow any of the current ones out of the water. I truly hope this is the case, because I just can't get into the PC version of the game. The concept seems fun, but the controls and non-user friendly interface pull me away every time. I know I'd be all aboard for a Wii U version :)

Saw something on Reddit about the Game Informer cover that is to be released tomorrow may have something to do with this. Not sure if anyone mentioned it on here or if its even credible.

TF2 merging into the Half-Life universe would be incredible.

But they've barely merged the HL2 and Portal universes!

Tell you what: they find a way to connect the Green Flu as a precursor to the Combine invasion and the Seven Hour War, and we have a deal.

The three points on the maps that the Spy had could be points that Red and Blu have to defend from the robots. Instead of 3 teams, it should consist of the team of robots, and a team of a mix of red and blu.

That can't be Gray, Redmond and Blutarch didn't know they had a third brother at the time, unless they didn't know who he was at the time, and he was just watching...

just watching...
synonym for...
spectating...

He's been spectating the whole time...
By the way, spectators in chat (and score board) show up in grey...

Ohhhhhhh I wanted to see the old farts impregnating. Such a cop out from Valve the way the story unfolded just to the sake of PC. Old people have rights too! If they want to have sweet gravel sex with an impregnating machine, by God and Country, let them!

I want to see how a three-team mode would play out. Will alliances be formed by two team to take out a third? Will it be followed by backstabbing (literal and/or otherwise)?
