My first thought, too. I don't get why console designers ever choose glossy over matte, especially with black.

With that said: I'm jelly.

Why does anyone ever choose glossy for anything other than lip gloss?

Some of them do, have you seen the thread "Show us your gaming setup" Their gaming setup almost look like them Ikea demo rooms.
