There was a 5 second trailer of a sword and a shoe, safe to say that it won't be out for a while.

Can't wait to see some gameplay. I hope the games character stays intact.

It was short in the interest of time, and was literally the same as the original Bayo reveal trailer.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was far along given all the rumours prior to this that Bayonetta 2 was in development but canned by SEGA.

Heck maybe Nintendo saved it.

O!M!G!

I thought I had quit Nintendo after the Game Cube...

I thought I would never get the sequel to my all time favourite smack-em-up...

I thought that the wait for a proper next gen sequel would be the only thing getting me to invest in a next gen console on release day...

Seems I was wrong, oh so wrong... people, we are getting Bayonetta 2!!!

Time to retire the 360 and PS3! I don't care if Bayonetta runs on a teeth-controlled-motion-controlled-ass-cheek-presser, Bayonetta 2 is here!

DISCLAIMER: Yes I mighty be crazy psyched, but forgive me going ape-shit-crazy for the sequel to one of the all time best games ever. EVER!1!!

RE 4 was published by Capcom in Japan and America.

I'm glad it is being made.

But they haven't gained some kind of killer app for the console. Bayo 1 didn't sell very well if my memory serves.

True, but most of us don't really care about sales. We just want to play Bayonetta 2.

So there are two possible narratives here:

1) Bayonetta was going to be on all platforms, then Nintendo "moneyhatted" the game and made it an exclusive.

2) Bayonetta was dead, and Nintendo revived it to publish it as an exclusive.

Based on what we know so far, the second explanation seems far more likely, but we'll likely never know for sure.

If Nintendo is publishing it then chances are that Sega wasn't going to do it. In other words, the game wouldn't exist without Nintendo.

THIS, Fucking this, people need to understand and stop port begging.
I'm very excited for this game but I won't be buying a Wii U on launch but the fact that it's being made (maybe thanks to Nintendo) is enough for me, I'll buy it someday.

Anyway, BAYONETTA 2 FINALLY!!! I CAN'T WAIT.

to all the people bitching about betrayal:

it was probably nintendo fund and publish bayonetta 2 or the game doesn't happen at all.

You guys realize Nintendo is probably the only reason this is getting made, right?

Wasn't the rumor that Bayonetta 2 was canceled?

Nintendo published?

Does this mean Bayonetta in the next Smash Bros?

Maaaan, I had no interest in the Wii U, and I'm so happy this happened. I was worried Bayonetta 2 might never see the light of day.

Buying a Wii U is a small price to pay to continue the legacy of Bayonetta.

What world is this!?
Nintendo saves Bayo II!?
Wii-U and 3DS upgrades of MonHun3?

Pretty clear that Nintendo's all about these more intimate affairs now and done with E3 blow-outs.

Wow that's surprise that Sega won't do it, Ouch for 360 Bayonetta fans.

I haven't play the first one - cos only got PC/PS3.

The first one is perfectly playable on PS3. It's not as good as the 360 version, but post-patch it's more or less fine. It's no Skyrim PS3 situation we're talking here :p

The second is far less likely than the first.

While it would be nice to be able to get this on PS3/360, why are some folks disappointed in this? Are exclusives not the reason we buy and love to own more than one console? While multiplats are convenient, I still want more exclusives that are able to be developed around each consoles particular strengths. Beyond that, it is just fun to have that variety and have more of a reason to own more than one anyway. I am hoping Nintendo keeps dropping bombs like this with the Wii U, as I have been waiting for Nintendo win me back. All I can say is that this is definitely the way to do it.

Who owns the Bayonetta IP? Sega or Platinum?

If Sega, does this mean it is co-published or perhaps Nintendo bought the IP?!

I knew there would be meltdowns this morning, but never in my wildest dreams did I expect they would be from the people who weren't interested in Wii U.

Insanity.

Holy shit! I guess Nintendo really is serious about getting the small niche hardcore demographic. So far the only game I'm interested in on Wii U though.

It's a joke. The original post was made by an enraged GAFfer when FF XIII was revealed as coming to Xbox 360. From there on said post took on a life of its own and often gets posted (with alterations to make it fit) whenever a 'betrayalton' happens.

It's so funny when people bite on the I'm an expert clone posts. XD
