I came into this thread to try and craft a well worded post to convey my excitement, and all I can think of is spelling out me screaming like a school girl... guess what a school girl screaming sounds like?

WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!

Dang nabbit. From Day Never club to Day 1 club.

Get this thing to me now. I mean right now.

Also, if Baynetta shows up in Smash ... jeez .. nintendo you old dogs, you've done it again.

Nintendo have made me the happiest man on earth. This is fantastic news.

I wonder what Kamiya's twitter inbox looks like though

So, so excited. Bayonetta was the nearest thing to Ninja Gaiden in terms of environments and atmosphere. The combat was every bit as fun too.

After the epic fail of Ninja Gaiden 3, this news couldn't be more welcome. Part of me wonders what a next-gen (720/PS4) Bayonetta would have looked like though, and now we may never know. But this is 1,000,000x better than no Bayonetta 2, which would likely have been the alternative if Nintendo hadn't have stepped in.

What makes you think that? You think Nintendo paid enough money to offset the loss of the other two versions?

The really significant point is that we know Sega dropped the game.

This doesn't suggest the game was experiencing some major bidding war, and Nintendo won the bidding. It suggests the game had been dropped, and Nintendo saved it.

If web01 has other evidence I don't know about, he's free to bring that forward. Regardless, I don't care about this game!

Very bold move by Nintendo here.

To ignore the 130 million 360/PS3 owners out there, they must have made Platinum a very sweetheart deal.

I just beat Bayonetta a few days ago and it was such an awesome game. I didn't even know a second one was being planned so this is awesome news. Will definitely look into getting a WiiU.

Are you serious here? Don't play with me, I loved Ninja Gaiden Black and liked NG2, is Bayonetta really that good in terms of combat / speed / difficulty?

I may have to try it out on the 360 now.

This genuinely blindsided me.

I was directly told this game was shot in the head.

They know you're on Gaf man, they know you've been spilling the beans. Take whatever you can and get outta there, the Ninjas are coming for you!

I think the reason why Nintendo's got it exclusive is because Sega's not willing to front the money for advertising and are looking to hand Platinum off since it doesn't jive with their all online plan and had lackluster success (due in part because Sega didn't do shit for advertising). Nintendo has the money and needs killer apps to make the Wii U a success with the hardcore. If all goes well and Bayonetta becomes profitable Nintendo acquires Platinum. /fanfic

They aren't ignoring anything. Rumors suggested that Sega canned Bayonetta 2. So the most likely scenario is that Nintendo swooped in and saved the project. As a result it's now exclusive to the Wii U.

I don't know about difficulty since I played it on easy or whatever, but combat speed and fluidity is fukken ace. Go play it.

Well I doubt it was Platinum that needed seducing, it'd be Sega, and they have no reason not to really, unless all three first parties courted it. Sony probably wouldn't because of GoW, but MS might have.

The second is far less likely than the first.

On the contrary, the second is far more likely considering Sega's current financial situation and publishing philosophy. Sega outwardly announced that they were going to pass on global retail releases not named Sonic, Aliens, Total War, and Football Manager.

Pretty damn awesome. I never did finish the first one for some reason but I played enough to know this is great news

Still the first Nintendo console I probably won't be getting on launch day... But I'll 100% be getting one in due time

Of all the third party franchises they could have chosen for an exclusive, they picked this one?

Was the first game even popular? I never played it or followed its success.
