Bayonetta 2 - WiiU (Director: Yusuke Hashimoto, Pub: Nintendo, Supervision:Kamiya)

Oh yeah! I was thinking Bayonetta 2 might not happen but it seems Nintendo was willing to help. Another step in the direction of hopefully Nintendo buying PlatinumGames.

I haven't read the whole thread, but has the FF XIII/Japanese culture meme showed up yet? If not then you disappoint me gaf.

Platinum just shot themselves in the foot.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about Japanese culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in America where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in Japan, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.

What this means is the japanese public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase Bayonetta 2 for the Wii U, nor will they purchase any of Platinum's games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Platinum has alienated an entire market with this move.

Platinum, publicly apologize and make Bayonetta 2 multiplatform or you can kiss your business goodbye.

I like Opiate's potential future where the WiiU becomes a system for the companies that can't do the NextPS4 route. A little KT, a little Platinum and they're not Japanese but it isn't like THQ will survive till the NextPS4.

And the Wii U is a little better than PS360. I don't care HOW much better it is, but if I'm buying the games anyway I may as well get the best, right?

Of course I've always been platform agnostic so I can understand why people who only roll with one console wouldn't be into this.
It's the delay I don't understand. Of course if you have all three systems, and one version is better, you're going to get the better one, but you're waiting a year, for what? Might have a little bit more AA on it?

EDIT: Okay, let me ask this. If it comes out, and it's actually worse than the 360 version, are you going to buy the 360 version?

I actually am not interested at all in Watch Dogs but would never say "who needs that on their console." It looks objectively good for what it is and I don't recall many people saying the contrary.

Definitely.

I THINK what is happening is people take "I prefer game play innovations, and graphics while nice are a secondary concern to me" (or statements in that vein) and what they actually HEAR is "good graphics don't matter at all, in fact I actually dislike good graphics!" which... I can't imagine anyone EVER actually saying. Personally I think good graphics are a good thing. They're just not my primary focus when I look at a console to buy, games are.

Apparently people can't simply enjoy games. Everyone must pick sides!

"Megatons" like these bring out the worst of NeoGAF. You guys should be ashamed... But experience has told me you think shit like this is acceptable, despite criticizing GameFAQs and /v/ all the time.

Oh, well.

Enjoy games?

Pssh we only like games so we can complain about them.

Where have you been man?

From what I've read in the thread, the HD twins side clearly had the more immature kiddies. All the whining and the "I'm still not buying WiiU"-ing on the first 10+ pages totally started the hilariousness after all. Generally avocating/hating a console based on its image is stupid. Grow up.

What? A rational and well explained viewpoint?! Off with his head!

It won't be the last game of its type either but we haven't seen anything from the other 2 big companies. Right now, it's easy to get excited when all we know about the big 3 is Nintendo stuff at this time. For me, Bayo 2 is not the system seller, it's still the Nintendo games and I'm sure other 3rd party stuff that will come along and may sell me. Best thing right now for me is NSMB2 and MG3G. If I get one it will be income tax but we shall see. If I don't get it at that time then it will be about another year from that time.

It's like that one stupid internet post that pops up all the time, when a company or person does something different then usual, and some people complain about.

"Company A does X and people complain, then Company A does Y and people complain, you can't win herp derp"

Because of course it's all the exact same fuckin' people complaining, like they're all one just a giant computer hating on your favorite company. Skynet has become self-aware, and grrr they don't like the same things you do

I never played Bayonetta, and I'm not sure I'll end up playing 2, but if this is the caliber of game that Nintendo is going after for the WiiU, I might have to actually start paying attention.

Also, this is the first GAF meltdown that I've actually been present for and it's delicious.

Is it weird that I find you posting in Gaming Side weird? I guess I just don't see you much

Good graphics are a good thing indeed, but not when they come at the cost of gameplay.

Yep. But I've always been like this with games that are coming out late gen on one console with updates on a new console.

The ports of Tony Hawk on Dreamcast that were from another team were better than the PSX versions as well.

Tony hawk on dreamcast was done by treyarch, interestingly.

How is asking him to prove his argument isn't a strawman, a strawman?

Because he's requesting something that would take an exorbitant amount of time to do for what is a trivial matter and using the fact that he knows nobody is going to search through thousands of posts as a crutch for his argument, thus a strawman.

Nothing like good old fashioned console wars in the morningevening.

If you want to be mad at someone, be mad at Microsoft or Sony...

I knew there was something wrong when they showed pics from ports during E3 and the jaggies were worse than PS3's

Really, so much power and cant even spare some AA? midend PCs have better graphics

Power = not even close to 9000

10 minutes?

How do yall both know it won't have any legs?

The damn thing isn't even out yet and if anything this whole thing shows Nintendo gets it or is trying to get it.

I certainly don't know if that's the case, but I am skeptical based on my experiences with its past 2, arguably 3, consoles. This skepticism coupled with the high price point of the system(personal feeling) and coupled with my love of the game, will make me sour on it.

And I agree that this is a good sign, but I'm skeptical enough that I want to see a little more goodwill from Nintendo before I jump head over heels into this console. If you looked at my past posts, you'd see I'm not coming from a place of rabid fanboyism. Not that I blame you, this thread moves a mile a minute.

I don't see the point in getting a next-gen-power console when I could just upgrade my PC so I don't have that dilemma. PC + Ninty covers all bases.

I have a feeling there are going to be a few more threads like this with next gen looming. I can't even imagine how ugly it's going to get once Sony and Microsoft show their next gen consoles.

It's kind of depressing though. I wish we could be more grown up about it all.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier:

Hah, you'd fit right in with a few folks there including one guy who squealed when BLOPS2 had Wii Pointer controls confirmed. Bayo2 was definitely the one that got the loudest applause.
Hahaha, nice. I wonder if I know that guy.

I got another friend Bayonetta as a present a while back, don't think he ever got around to finishing it. This will probably give him a good reason to.

You've gotta be kidding me!!!! No way I'm getting a WiiU just for one game.

Then don't

Add a Bayonetta 2 tally mark under the Wii-U and wait for more, instead of getting mad.

I'm up to 4 now I think with this, Wonderful 101, Ninja Gaiden Razor edge and Smash

and maybe some Nintendo games since I own the thing who knows.
