Seems like the page Apple uses to confirm you have a connection is down.

http://www.apple.com/library/test/success.html

Copied from macrumors and it makes sense:

Here is what is going on. Ever since iOS 4(?) there has been a feature where if you connect to a WiFi network it will try to ping this site:http://www.apple.com/library/test/success.html

If it is a success then it lets you connect, if it is not a success the phone trys to bring up what would be a Login page for corporate wifi networks. Example, public access points that have a login page, etc.

It seems that some moron at Apple deleted the file located at http://www.apple.com/library/test/success.html and that is why it is not working.

This is not an iOS 6 issue but rather a problem with Apple's website.

Still unacceptable . . .
This is probably it. It looks like the Wi-Fi thing is hitting at around the same time for everyone and it was working fine for me at the office, then at home until some minutes ago.

Same wifi problem here - asking me to login. What the fuck. Also the new maps is horrific. Hopefully not long until Google release their own.

iOS 6 is a disaster.

Well, that's the nail in coffin. I'm waiting for the next update. My 4S is perfect right now (rockin iOS. 5.0.1) and I'm not fucking it up with a shitty update. Apple already screwed up my iPad 1 and I'm not taking any chances.

I was really looking forward to this update too.

Ridiculous. Just because some part of Apples site is down everyones wifi is now broken? What moron thought this is a good idea?

Not sure - maybe someone running an older version of iOS could disconnect from their network and try reconnecting to see if they run into the same problem now haha
Just did it on an iPad 2 with iOS 5 and it's connecting normally. Maybe something changed on iOS 6 regarding the way it confirms with the site.

So if ONE webpage breaks on Apple's backend that means no wifi connectivity for device users?

I was able to get past the set-up, but barely. The popup kept coming up whenever I tried to re-connect to my network.

Rebooting your phone will not help, nothing will help until Apple fixes the problem on their end.

At least i'm not the only one with the Wi-Fi problem
Apple need to fix this shit ASAP, now i'm unable to do anything with my iPad

Was just coming in here to see if there was a wifi issue with iPad 3. Glad to see someone else. I try to connect and it pops up a screen to log in, but it just goes to a page not found apple.com page.

Ugh.

I always hold off updating for a week or so. Bugs and all that.

Funny enough, i still have an iTunes bug all the way from iOS 5. Yay Apple.

Good thing they released iOS6 before the new iPhones come in. Imagine this happening with every new iPhone 5 on Friday.

Still doesn't explain why my Wi-Fi doesn't work (because I don't even get as far as that login screen). And I had this problem two days ago when I tried the GM.

this is some fucking C tier mistake, that takes everyone's internet out. The is probably the only time where i would want root power over the OS and fucking edit out the script to ping apple. So fucking dumb

My home wifi on the GM was fine last night and this morning. Just now started to act up.

god damnit apple, my wifi stopped too.

The tech sites better explode on this, tired of apple getting all the love despite pulling amateur shit like this.

Wow, the new store layout is complete shit on touch. Guess i'll just use my PC to get those free apps now.

The new search however with the preview is much better.
