Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD didn't look like those Dolphin shots.

Tri and Tri G look better than Portable 3rd to begin with, though.

Portable 3rd was a quickie PSP port that didn't even both to re-do the UI. We know they're redoing the UI for this, so it isn't farfetched they'll at least do the baseline of making what's already there look nice.

(That said, I doubt Ultimate will be 1080p like those shots, probably 720p.)

What about the fps?Didn't 3G have unlocked frame rate so it run from 30-60 or something like that? Can we realistically expect 60fps locked on the WiiU version?

Why hasn't there been any screen shots/video of the Wii U version. I'm starting to think this well be a pretty shitt port.

I don't think it will be a shit port. It sounds like Capcom decided to do a quick Wii U port some time before July 2012. In an inteview in July, Iwata said he knew there were some new Wii U third-party games that would be planned for announcement at Nintendo's Sept. 13th conference. Obviously, he was refering to Bayonetta 2 and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. It's a strange decision for Capcom to just not include online play for MH3U on 3DS overseas as it basically cripples the game's chance for succcess. Then in Japan, you've got MH3U coming out on Wii U in the same month as MH 4.

For the record, Capcom's done rush job ports for around launch before like with Street Fighter IV for 3DS. The development team took 8 months to do it.

MH3U is a launch title for Japan. MH4 launches in Spring 2013 for Japan. MH3U launches in Spring 2013 for the west.

Who knows when MH3U was decided on Wii U. Iwata and Nintendo stated numerous times at E3 that they didn't anounce all 3rd party titles. In particular they mentioned they hadn't outlined Japanese 3rd party titles. MH3G for 3DS was decided in December 2010 but wasn't anounced until September 2011, 3 months prior to launch.

My bad. I forgot MH3U is a launch title for Japan.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate confirmed for NY Comic Con :D

http://www.capcom-unity.com/dubindo...ter-3-ultimate-playable-at-new-york-comic-con

Got your New York Comic Con tickets yet? You might want to rush and get the last few Friday tickets before they run out, because Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (3DS) will be playable there!

What - you're not a big fan of playing games in the show-floor? ... I can understand that - and that's why we have a separate room! So aside from the show-floor units, we'll bring some for you to try out in a more chill environment. Plus, we'll have tables and power strips so you can bring your favorite portable Monster Hunter games and just hunt and make new local hunting buddies.

One more thing: we're planning some competition with some great prizes to spice things up... so start looking up old videos of competition that happened in Japan a while back; that's what I used for inspiration. =)

Look out for another post in the coming days with more details of the schedule and prizes. But all in all, this is a great chance to get some hands-on time with the 3DS version of the game!

I'll be at NY Comic Con too, so please say hi if you spot me :D

And even i am moderately surprised

not just for this game but i think some people would be surprised just how far in advance these decissions are made. Not specific to MH - just in general.

How was the MHP3GHDPS3 version? Was the upres good?

MH3rdP HD was a bug ridden nightmare for the most part, the UI was not rescaled and bitmap assets on the field looked awful. The 3D support however was nice and the actual game itself looked good. The issue with the game wasn't the graphics though - it was the crashes. :/

Nah I am guessing the game will be getting a Japanese blowout soon, probably in Famitsu.

There are tons of collaboration weapons/armors in MH3G and I wonder how many will they remove in the NA version?
Really? I know Tri had some but nothing substantial from what I remember. if it's a bunch of lame pants and shirt outfits I won't really care.

Famitsu news:

Monster Hunter 3G HD Ver. will launch with the WiiU on December 8th. Features include full 1080p display, 5.1 LPCM surround sound, a WiiU pad display based on the 3DS display, and internet multiplay. Local play works with up to three 3DSes, and a free eShop app will handle moving save data between the two.

Milestone is developing WRC 3 FIFA World Rally Championship. The game, to be published on PS3 and PSV by CyberFront, will release January 17th for ¥7,140

1080p isn't surprising, am not sure why off those screens anyone doubted it :p
WiiU/3DS thing is a nice touch; makes me wonder if we'll be seeing more cross-platform between the both from Capcom.

That's cool news even if it isn't that surprising about the resolution. Quite frankly, all that matters is that we're getting monster hunter!

Is it 60fps?

It will be am sure. The game isn't going to get some huge jump, the WiiU will mostly be yawning and with the other hand while this thing runs.

Aren't most MH games in 60? Capcom would give up any visual stuff just to hit 60; it would be jarring going from 60 on 3DS to 30 on WiiU, especially when you'll be playing both together.

Holly crap, MH3G Wii U version first scan is out, it's like MH3 running on Dolphin with proper character shadow D;
Even it's a blurry pic, you can notice higher image quality from MH3.

I apologize if I missed this, but has there been any confirmation of off TV play?

Not yet. Me too I'm waiting for this news.
Honestly, this will be day one in any case, but it would be a nice addition.

(anyone else is evaluating the possibility of a double purchase, Wii U + 3DS version? I know, I'm fool...)

Compelling textures, you say?

Compelling textures? On Wii U? Shit son, we got us a fight now.

I'd be down for buying both and taking advantage of transfaaring. Grinding stuff on 3DS while away from home sounds good. If they do some sort of slightly discounted bundle, I'd probably jump.
