Halo |OT10| The Calm Before The Storm

jesus f'ing christ. playing multiteam (for the jackpot) with randoms is like the worst thing ever. why do i do this to myself for credits that dont even matter?

I tried playing it yesterday and it sucks.

But I'm playing Team Slayer right now and I could join you for Multiteam? I'm not the greatest player ever but if you want to, that's fine. If not I don't mind.

My gamertag is FUBAR McDangles

Just found this:

Please.

Could someone make an Halo themed avatar out of this beautiful elegant lady?

beatrix.jpg

Can someone photoshop Bill Clinton with the propipe for me? Because that one at least makes sense.

But forreal, I'd be really appreciative.

Ok you talented peoples, I come to you with a proposal. Would it be possible to shop, chop or do anything so I can get a pic of Michael D. Higgins' face on any of the Prophets from Halo?

Something like

If I could have the result in avatar form, that'd be awesome. Cheers!

Consolidating these. Political Halo Gaf.

After playing through Halo 2 again this past week, I had forgotten what a beautiful and haunting piece the Delta Halo Suite is once it hits the 8:41 mark.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQR-n6Z7Kxk&feature=player_detailpage#t=519s

Chief is sinking into the darkness of the lake after just assassinating Regret, and nearly getting blasted by a Cruiser. The Chief is suddenly pulled in by the Gravemind's tentacles. "This is not your grave, but you are welcome in it." I still remember being like, "what in the hell is that!?" One of my favorite examples of the music and visuals being used synergistically. I love Halo 2!!!

Thanks for posting this it got me listening to that soundtrack. The Halo 2 soundtrack and storytelling were the best in the series. It is a shame that Halo 3 did not live up to that.

Did anyone ever mention what the Peter Jackson project was? Was that consolidated into odst or am I imagining that?

I was actually thinking about posting something about this today. I believe it was supposed to be a episodic thing about Chief. I think it was supposed to be less game more interactive movie. From what I remember, the team that was set to begin work on it ended up making ODST after the movie fell off the table.

Surprisingly, everything around that project remained hush hush and never saw the light of day.. it really would be interesting to read a synopsis or see some concept art.

Halo: Chronicles

You know the Spartan Ops episodic model, imagine a game based around that concept (and a much different setting and story of course), worked on by the Wingnut (Peter Jackson's guys) and Bungie guys. When the project was dropped, the Bungie guys went ahead and made ODST.

"There's a reference to an inflexible teacher, I believe. A dictator, in the literal sense. A didact. There's also a warning not to do something regarding that person – or rank of persons."

So, at this point, I'm going to assume the following:
If that huge silver sphere we saw in the E3 trailer was, indeed, the Didact's cryptum, I'm guessing the glyphs on the wall Phillips and damaged-BB are looking at are talking about Didact's cryptum Requiem and saying not to disturb it. That, or it's talking about the other Didact's cryptum on Earth more than 100,000 years ago, but seeing as how TTW deals more with current events, I'm going to assume it's his newer cryptum.

Looks like you haven't finished the book yet. By the end of the book it pretty much spells out the basic premise of Halo 4. Multiple times. It's not even trying to be subtle about it either.

So yes, everything you said is true and the sphere is the latest, newer model. ;)

Nah, I haven't finished the book, so I'm just posting my thoughts as I read along – premature as they may be. Thanks for the confirmation! At this point I'm also going to assume this:
Damaged-BB and Phillips find the coordinates to Requiem in this Forerunner structure they're in.

Edit: Also going to guess
that the religious Covenant we see in Halo 4 are part of Tel'cam's forces.

You'll just have to read on and find out. :)

I thought halo going into space was sort of contrived. The dude fights aleins and doesnt afraid of anything, that's not what halo's essence is about. he should be on erf, otherwose who's gonna protect if from the aleins? pretty weird that arbiter alein halo just spent the book NOT in spaec, doing interior design. Such a flawed novel. I wish William C. Dietz came back to the halo series.
EDIT: given tags as per domino's request

I know. Halo is such a shitty character.

Chief always wanted to be an interior designer and when Arbiter thought he was dead, he embraced his bro's lifelong dream.
