Shows how much you know, the controls are completely different. Tank controls are gone and the melee/shooting/traversal system is all new.

Completely? They seem a step backwards from the backwardsness that is RE5. People take RE more seriously than the games do themselves. The melee system is complete shit by the way, and the fact that some of the more important controls are revealed on loading screens but not in any manuals leads me to believe that yes the series has a long way to go.

Japanese games are still very popular in continental Europe, especially in France, how do you conquer Europe without Japanese games ?

Japanese games will come because they have unit sales in the rest of the world. They just don't need to waste money on the system in Japan. No money wasted on advertising, etc. Sega kept supporting Master System games even though they only sold in Europe. IMO all Japanese games will have the WiiU as the main platform so up ports to the new MS system will be easy.

nope.

PSP was also released at the height of Sony's power in the industry. People had good reason to believe it would completely dominate the handheld market and if it wasn't quite going to be the PS2 for the scene it would at least be the original Playstation in terms of market penetration and sales.

360 selling as much as the PS4......oh man. And Vita has begun it's descent to oblivion. There's nothing coming to stop the decline, and honestly the holidays are going to be brutal with everything else having a much better lineup and a new system launch. I don't think there's much chance of 360 outselling Vita until Sony pulls it from the shelves. RE6 is one of the last big Japanese multiplats that will do as well.

But, but, SOUL SACRIFICE! A port of the soon to be classic PSP game God Eater 2! Other Mon Hun clones that will draw away that fanbase with superior qHD graphics, OLED screen and twin sticks! Full NEAR integration!

You have no idea what you're talking about.

It'll be interesting to see how quick Sony stops even mentioning Vita when the PS4 is revealed.

You bleed out Japanese developers by locking them into exclusive projects that never find an audience anywhere.

Have Black 2 / White 2 already outsold Platinum? Wiki quotes 2.12 mil as the last known Japanese sales.

Platinum was the fastest selling entry at the time, too, although that was for 1 mil in three days... don't know how B2W2 compares.

I think Microsoft has a good chance to improve their sales in Japan, if Sony and Nintendo go 3rd party and Microsoft sells a Durango to every person in Europe and the US.
On the back of what? Who will make Japanese exclusives for them again? You think there'll be another Lost Planet 1 from Capcom, another *cough* Bullet Witch from Cavia, another The Last Remnant from Squenix, another Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey from Mistwalker, another Trusty Bell, Infinite Undiscovery, Star Ocean 4 from Tri-Ace, another dozen Cave shooters etc? You think Microsoft will be able to bamboozle all these companies, as far as they still exist today, all over again? After what happened this gen? Seriously?

Not even then

Seems like Game Freak made the right choice, then.

I wonder if the third version is dead.

Probably. Making the sequel is actually proving to be more remunerative than just the classic third version, so why to continue doing like in the past?

Third versions probably take less time, though. So it's a question of priorities I suppose.

I don't know how to respond to that.

We don't have "get out of jail free" cards, but if we did, she'd have one.

"Nintendo going 3rd party" should really have tipped you off, but I'll indulge you.

If next gen continues the trend happening right now, Japanese companies who want to sell their console games to a significant audience overseas—particularly in the US—will make a Durango version. That version may never be released in Japan, but it will exist.

Microsoft seems to have given up engaging Japan on a deeper level than that, at least for now.

That was the exact idea early during this gen. The "or wither and die" meme is not new.

You can't engage the Japan unwilling. The test results came back and none of the early Japanese Xbox 360 support ended up being worth it for anyone involved.

This guy doesnt play the game yet I can tell. With million complains about RE6. Control and meelee system is not one of them. Its even the best in series.

Just shows you name alone can sell awful games like RE6, oh well at least it did relatively poorly in the UK.

What doesn't do poorly down there compared to japan or the states? The only promised saler is soccor games, not even mario name is as powerful there. Either way RE6 did about as well as ME3 did so thats good enough for the U.K.

It's really a little unfair to say RE6 underperformed because it sold less than FIFA. I mean FIFA sells pretty much COD numbers in Europe and RE6 had the 4th best debut in the UK this year.

Inside's article says eShop release will be sold alongside retail release (first 3rd party eShop title in Japan). No mention of free e copy. Pretty sure this is a mistranslation.

Figures. Thanks for clearing that up!

Sounds like the worst idea ever. Why would a publisher do that? Especially in Japan where it's common practice to just sell a game when you don't need it anymore.

Are we sure that's not a mistranslation?

It is a mistranslation. It actually just says that a download version will go on sale along with the retail version and that Kadokawa is the first publisher other than Nintendo to do this.

Edit: Beaten. -_-

Hope so. Hungry for the next set of 3DS titles. Hoping to hear about more Capcom, Square, etc. support for 2013.

Capcom is already there: MH4 and AA5 :p
Level 5 too, with Layton 6 ( and then who knows)
But we need some new Square annoucements ( not that I don't think we'll never see them, but knowing at least about one brand new game from Square would be nice ).

RE6 outselling revelations is a bummer.

also, vita fell hard and there's nothing in the pipeline for quite a while to bring it back up. not good.
