Is there any compelling/exclusive reason to get Sonic & Sega All-Star Racing Transformed for Wii U at this point? The first All-Star Racing was mediocre at best in my book. Will the gameplay be better on the U? ... cool use of tablet? nintendo fanservice?

This game has sort of been off my radar, but a good replayable racing game might be a good purchase if it actually is looking good.

Reportedly Wii U version is going to run smoothly and to have some exclusive features, as GamePad being used to display tracks' maps or for a rear mirror view.

BTW I think we should wait until first reviews spring out for some insight.

Oh sad day. I really want some major JRPGs announced for the Wii U stat. This generation has been pretty minuscule with JRPGs in the West and I'm starved for some....And what do they mean by less stress? Are they saying using the Gamepad will tire your arms after too long a use? Is this the wii all over again?

It makes a whole lot of sense. Tethering the GamePad to the system with a USB cable would mean you'd have to buy a very long cable or couldn't play while charging. With a separate AC, you can plug it in close to where you're sitting (wherever that may be) and keep playing while it charges. It also makes sense as it doesn't draw additional power from the console hardware unit.

Exactly. Nintendo expect this thing to be moved around a little so it needs charging capability away from console.

As I get closer to launch my title wants for Day 1 have expanded greatly. The newegg sale returning has helped my decision.

I can't believe how much hyPe I have for launch and the expectations I have as well. With what I've got lined up for launch... May just be my best launch experience ever and that says a lot. Impressive. Most impressive.

I'm actually in a holding pattern on a lot of multiplats because off screen play would be a lovely convenience. Most wanted and RE6 come to mind first of all. I really hope we get some firm confirmations of what is coming when, if at all. The rumors of both those games hitting the Wii U haven't gone away yet.

I've played the WiiU on the weekend and I've really lost interest in off-tv features. The screen is much smaller than I've imagined and the picture isn't too exciting compared to an HD image. On the same note, I really hope the delay for Rayman means they reduce the gamepad-only parts. Game looks absolutely amazing on the TV, yet really underwhelming when you have to do the gamepad parts. Not to mention that the gameplay simply isn't as exciting as proper platforming the other player does (as expected).
Mario also looked really good, the art style actually shines in HD. Pikmin was quite underwhelming in that regard though, it actually looks worse than on screens, etc.

However I was surprised that I really didn't spot any crazy distracting blots on both black controllers - I don't get the hate. (Preordered the premium pack today)
Neither do I get the complaints about the pads weight that was supposed to feel too cheap. It's just as heavy as you'd expect. Obviously, it's no brick but it's still the heaviest standard controller you could imagine, even the 3DS is lighter.
(I also played Nintendoland, definitely selling that crap - it's just as boring as watching the E3 vids)

I don't really see the need for a Pro Controller right now. But I guess i'll make the final decision on that once I see what the GamePad feels like. Right now it seems like games will be just fine with the GamePad.

With games like Rayman Legends, there's a very good constant indicator of where the support character is and you have the ability to use the TV as your primary view when doing touch screen gameplay alot of the time. It's actually quite fun to do and adds some neat challenge.

And Nintendo Land will have more depth than you might think. Did you play any DK Crash Course? That is some fun and addictive stuff right there

I've also got the added complication of Wii games. Having never owned a Wii, there's a pretty comprehensive list of games I want to play, but might just start with Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Brothers to keep things simple and go from there.

Should be a fairly solid two titles to start with. However, if you've never owned a Wii, you'll need to buy a nunchuck and a Wiimote, since they're not included with the Wii U itself. (No idea if you'd need a CC Pro for Smash or whether the Wii U pad would act like one...)

That quote seems like a poor rationale. How exactly would making the game on the Wii U cause more stress on the players' part? I mean, any relevant difference in the controller is completely optional.

Or was this person not saying what I interpreted the quote as?

I've played Luigis Mansion mostly. I wanted to play DK, but there were constant swarms of kids grabbing the Wiimotes for more Luigis Mansion, lol.

The music stage in Rayman as the support character wasn't bad, but the ordinary gameplay was way superior imo. In that part, it's also hardly possible to look at the TV.

Aye, going to pick up at least a Wii Motion + and a Nunchuck along with any Wii games. Wii remotes are bloody expensive though brand new.

I hope you're not saying that just because they label it as a rumor and say it might not be real makes it ok to post. Thats a cheap way of getting out of posting certain things ('well we did say it was a rumor...........) They should have enough common sense not to post stuff like that. Eminen and Nintendo really? And it makes it worse because the crap they post sometimes spreads to other sites.

I never trusted that eminem thing, dont care about him or that weird game that never happened, but it makes them look bad that they are willing to post anything.......
