Judging by the name this may be an alternate dimension version of D1. I don't see any characters from later games so that's my best guess barring it just being a PS3 remake of the first game.

So, I'm the only one who would like this to be a rift on "2D" in the title, leading to this being a 2D perspective action game, like the Fanmade Demo of "Prinny: NetherWorld Take down!",, but with pro developent and a bunch of money behind it, eh?

Oh well, wouldn't complain about ANOTHER Strat game, either. Though I'd love to see them try something more Shining Force II or such, someday... spread those high-resolution sprites to some more varied genres or styles!

I think it's new since on the countdown site you can see the silhouette of Lahar, Etna and Flonne but they look different. Laharl pants look longer and Etna's boots look different (but looks like she has the prinny pockets from Disgaea 2), also it's fallen angel Flonne and not her angel form making me doubt a remake of Disgaea 1.

I'm pretty sure is a sequel of Disgaea 1 which I'm really exited since Laharl hasn't taken a main role on the sequels like Etna on Disgaea 2 and Flonne on Disgaea 4.

NIS kinda hinted about this in their summer greeting card where Laharl, Flonne and Etna appeared with new clothes.

Apparently it's a sequel of the first disgaea, so most likely it will be SRPG, Dengeki also put up an article about this: http://news.dengeki.com/elem/000/000/547/547590/

The first Disgaea is the best one and my favorite too so I'm really happy about this, can't wait for November 1st to see more of it.

I approve for Flonne alone couldnt care less about laharl or etna.

I still can't tell if this is a new game or a remake. It looks like it is a more direct sequel to Disgaea 1, since it is showing the characters from the first but has Fallen Angel Flonne.

I'd be down for a more fleshed out sequel to the original game. The other games in the series improved the battles and stuff, but they all felt a bit slapped together. And ease up on the weak nickel and dime DLC fights. It really bugged me in 3 and 4. They could at least make ones like Priere and Majorly a part of the main game again.
