RE6 is a lock in my top 10. Maybe top 5? A good game overall, though right now I couldn't tell whether it is a 4/5 or 5/5 (I have to return to it). It is facing some fierce competition, I have like 15+ games that I could all see being in my top 10 and some decent games like Dishonored likely won't be in my runners-up because of it. Despite it being a harder list to make than last year, no game so far cleanly beats out what I had in top 4~ last year. No game as great as Serious Sam 3 or Hard Corps: Uprising, but a lot of good games nevertheless.

Finished Jake chapter 2. Please tell me the rest of his campaign is at least this good. It's far from perfect, much like the rest of the game, but it's easily the most fun I've had with this game yet.
My favorite campaign was Chris, followed by Leon, but I agree Jake's campaign is good fun, and if you liked Ch. 2 (despite the snowstorm), it only gets better from there, with Jake Ch. 3 being one of the best chapters in the game, imo. A crying shame its central location isn't a Mercs map (I'm talking the
Chinese mansion
). :)

Also, let's hear some love for Ustanak! I know he wasn't quite the "show up out of nowhere unexpectedly" Nemesis-style encounter we were hoping for, but I love the big lug -- his design reminds me of something you'd see in a Guillermo del Toro film. (As a matter of fact, Ustanak strongly resembles the troll Wink from Hellboy 2, right down to the chain-link hand!)

So the scoring system in Reunion is the same as in RE6?

Yeah. Also, I discovered that it is not neccessary to delay SECRET boss kill for huge bonus. Regular boss also works. But Whooper on Urban Chaos is more dangerous than Napad and he can kill other enemies with his running attack, so it's much easier to delay Napad instead. Steel Beast, Mining the Depths, Rail Yard, and High Seas Fortress has no bosses at all (basically the only way to get best score there is Secret Boss, so Urban Chaos and Catacombs are the only maps with regular bosses)

I wouldn't blame this on the RE modding community. The RE modding community isn't that big, and there's not many people focussing on cheating (if any). However, there is a gigantic xbox hacking community, and it's probably from there we got the cheaters.

You probably right. I remember back in 2009 there was some hackers on x360 that messaged players with offers to make their scores on top of LB's for money.

The Jake campaign is easily the best part of the whole game and it just gets better really. I found RE6 to be one of the worst games I've played in years before I started Jake's game.

Jake has its advantages, I think they all do, but I don't understand how you can go from thinking RE6 is one of the worst games you've ever played to quite liking it when all the campaigns work with the same systems (hell, they even share scenarios thanks to campaign intersection). You are not making that judgment based on the combat system I suppose?

I'm an expert

Formerly worldrevolution. The only reason I am nice to anyone else is to avoid being banned.
Just started the game with my friend, ran through Jake chapter 1 to start. No. fuckin. clue. what's going on but it was a pretty balls out chapter. It's crazy how the speed of the game feels double that of RE5. We're just constantly running everywhere. As for the controls, while I knew all the advanced stuff going into it, I never once had to use any of the slides or rolls throughout the entire chapter. In fact I played Jake and just meleed the shit out of everyone, on professional as well. Anyway, prolly gonna try Chris or Leon next.

RE6 has been a lot of fun but its nowhere near my GOTY. To be honest though, I doubt many games could even stand up to Kid Icarus: Uprising. That game could be an all-time fave for me.

RE6 could be in my top five though. I've had a lot of fun with the game and I still want more.

I have issues with everything including the combat. Jake's campaign is just designed in a way to where most of the games issues are minimized. His game is also the only one where all the new moves are actually useful and feel natural to implement. There really is no reason to use them in the other campaigns aside from desperately trying to make the game fun to play.

To me Jake's campaign felt like the devs realized how dodgy and unpolished the rest of the game was and made a concentrated effort to make Jake's game. That probably didn't happen but it feels that way. It's also the only way I can rationalize how much better Jake's campaign turned out.

Definitely my GOTY, edging out RE: Revelations, Kid Icarus Uprising, TTT2 and Dragon's Dogma.

All incredible games, but RE6 tops them easily. Thank you, Capcom.

What's the deal with RE6 on PSN, should I buy it? Because I heard there are problems with it!

No problems so far (over 100 hours played)
Ther was a problem when game was just released and became incompatible with disc version players due to the patch + some launch issue.
All fine now.

Just beat Jake 4 on Pro, and it just reinforces my belief that Jake has the best campaign. However, the most annoying part of Jake's campaign is in this chapter, which also happens to be the section from the public demo. Capcom, next time you make a demo PUT THE GOOD BITS IN.

Anyway I only have Jake 5 to beat on Pro before I move onto Ada's campaign. But ugh, Rasklapanje... Don't wanna deal with that again.

Run + quickshot pipebomb arrow.

I'm actually dreading the last part of
the sub...

I have to say, I wasn't really feeling Resident Evil 5 but after playing the demo the other day with low expectations I really interested in RE6.

Surprised about the bad reviews, plays really solid and is a lot of fun.

God the Chris fight vs the
two giganotosaurs
on solo professional is some frustrating shit man... it's really pissing me off.

Mercs is so godly in RE6. And sprinting as Sherry's alt looks so cool -- she's so leggy in the track shorts that it heightens the sense of speed as she zips all over the stage. I just had some amazing moments in Steel Beast, countering the charging Napads and sliding under an incoming rocket while simultaneously pumping shotty lead into the J'avo's face. Goddamn. This game has one of the most incredible combat engines EVER.

Hey Sectus, did you try testing to see if the Mesets would work in Mercs? :)

I tried it now and they caused the game to crash. Also tried well dressed j'avo and they didn't work. Also tried lost planet j'avo (the ones in the fancy black outfits) and they do work. I suspect those might be the enemies for Liquid Fire.

Is it possible that when the new Mercs maps are made available, they will include some extra coding to enable those enemies (Mesets, etc)?

Also, in what timeframe do you think Capcom will start releasing DLC?

You know who I really want in mercs and is already in RE6? The awesome looking BSAA soldiers.

Honestly, I kinda think Agent looks shitty... but the generic BSAA guys that roll with Chris and Piers during chapter 2 and 3 look cool as hell. Gimme.

Jake's campaign is damn short... felt like half the length of Leons. No chapter was really over an hour in length. Fun though... didn't use a gun unless absolutely necessary.

On to the final campaign now. I actually hope it is very short. I just want to start playing online with all options enabled and higher difficulty.

It certainly is possible, but it seems so specific which enemies are allowed and not that I would be surprised.

I really have no idea when they'll start releasing DLC. To be honest, I'm surprised they haven't started already. I can remember with RE5, we got versus mode only a month after release.

Just finished Jake's campaign on Professional. Fantastic. Phenomenal. If the entire game were like this campaign I would give the game a 12/10. The final scene is great, especially with the voice acting, the facial animation, and the music.

Now I just have to do Ada's campaign on Pro, and I reaaaaally don't want to. I will probably wait until they patch in co-op since I have zero interest in playing through her campaign again, especially on Professional.

Get unlimited crossbow and maybe machine pistol, you'll be set. Aside from the
helicopter parts
it's a breeze.

Yeah I was considering that. I guess unlimited pipebombs would make it easier.
I didn't get the machine pistol but I used only the pipebomb arrows lol. It was pretty easy, especially with quickshots. I would also usually side dodge after I shot an arrow normally.

I'm going through Leon 2 and it's already been said, but
the "titty monster" (Lepotista?) is one of the creepiest monsters from the game. I'm still unnerved by it. Also, I frowned when I heard the guy say his son Marco with the BSAA would get to the cathedral and save him. ;_;

Whaaa?! I didn't see this either -- where is this? How did I miss so many cool details in this game??

It's kind of easy to miss because the textures on it are so bad that it just looks like a pile of garbage. I'm wondering about it because
none of the characters actually fight that Lepotista so either the civilians managed to kill it, BSAA soldiers killed it, or it died from falling out of the plane but not before releasing the poison creating more zombies.

That's an awesome detail, though. Where is it located, exactly?

It's in the demo area for Jake... where the J'avo rush you when you approach the gate/door. There's like two waves of them, they jump over the wall by the door.

Hard to explain haha

http://www.gamefaqs.com/xbox360/605604-resident-evil-6/faqs/65111

That guide has a bunch of details about the mercs mode.

RE5 had this weird system with the combo bonuses where they would actually give no extra points if your combo was already high. According to this guide, the system is similar. Meaning that if the combo is over 9, there's actually no point in ever getting combo bonuses.

I tested this ingame, and it seems to work that way. I never understood why they had this system, but oh well. It's something to keep in mind. If your combo is 10 or higher: never take combo bonuses.

Could that be the reason why you fight zombies when you do that level as
Ada
?

Been a while since I've played that chapter, so I can't remember if there was any other explanation about there being zombies there.

I kept wondering about that. I was thinking "isn't it possible this could have some bad side effects?" Never made the connection though.

Also got 109 hours in RE6. Lol.
