Shocker should make an appearance, five minutes max, for comedy.

Then in ASM3, pop up again in the beginning, also for comedy, but later accidentally electrocutes Spider-Man and captures him for a brief scene, a la Ultimate Spider-Man.

Only worthwhile thing involving Electro. But yeah, unless they do some incredibly good writing (based on the first movie, unlikely) that guys C-List at best. I remember getting into a heated debate on the internet over whether or not he could carry a whole movie.

Deborah Ann Woll would be kick ass, she's a total hotty.

But but her work in True Blood isn't enough to convince me acting wise, has she done anything impressive outside of that? I'm cool if MJ isn't a supermodel caliber chick, we had to settle for Dunst after all (she looked ok in the first one). But as long as they cast a pretty face that can act, I'm down.

she had a minor role in ruby sparks (one screen for one scene, for less than five minutes) and it was clear she's not a very good actress. maybe it was the because of the scene, but she lacked any kind of presence and was very hollow in delivery.

Sounds like MJ will be a background character / maybe ending reveal in 2 and then more involved in 3 as the lead up to Gwen's death. I'm ok with that.

I'm also in the camp that completely fucking loved Amazing Spider-Man.

At this point, I'd honestly be surprised if that isn't exactly what happens. They'll set up MJ in this movie so she can take over the love interest role in the third. I have a good feeling Gwen is going to bite it in this sequel.

Who owns the rights to Omega Red? Is he an X-Men villain? Because his appearances in the Ultimate universe are hilarious and I'd love to see them go that route at the beginning of one of these movies (as some have suggested doing with Shocker).

Hmm... yea, personally, I can careless about just having a pretty face, I rather have an actress with a presence.

variety is saying Jamie Foxx in talks to play electro: http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118061562

It looks like Sony's "The Amazing Spiderman 2" is coming together faster than expected as sources tell Variety the studio is in early talks with Jamie Foxx to play the villain in the movie.
Though the studio would not comment on the character sources have also told Variety that Foxx would play Electro in the pic.

Electro, is the namesake of Max Dillon, an enemy of Spider-Man who gains the ability to control electricity after being struck by lightning. Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, the character first appeared in "The Amazing Spider-Man #9" in February 1964.

In "The Amazing Spider-Man's" post-credit sequence, set inside Dr. Curt Connors' cell at an asylum, the Lizard is approached by a mysterious, shadowy figure (Michael Massee) who asks if Peter Parker knows the truth about his father. Lightning features prominently in the scene prompting auds to believe that Electro would be featured in the sequel.

Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are on board to return with Shailene Woodley in talks to join the cast as well. Marc Webb is also set to return to direct.

Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing the sequel, whose screenplay will be credited to frequent tentpole scribes Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, as well as Jeff Pinkner, based on a previous draft by James Vanderbilt. "The Amazing Spider-Man" grossed $751 million worldwide, and the sequel is skedded to swing into theaters in 3D on May 2, 2014.

As for Foxx, Sony has already begun building a relationship with the thesp. Besides distributing "Django Unchained," overseas, Foxx currently stars in "White House Down" opposite Channing Tatum, which Sony is viewing as one of its major tentpoles next summer.
