I have a weird question. I preordered last week and Limited Edition was sold out so I ordered it through Gamestop.com.

I also preordered a regular version so I can get it it at midnight tonight and play. I obviously ultimately want just the Limited Edition.

If I buy the game at midnight tonight and the LE comes tomorrow, will Gamestop let me return the opened regular edition?

Or does the LE come with a sealed game that I can return in place of my regular edition (I doubt that.)

I was very close to canceling my Amazon order and hitting up a midnight release. The only thing stopping me is that the 10$ video credit will improbably actually be useful for me, since I need to get Breaking Bad S.5 (pt1) from some sort of video service in order to get fully caught up.

Yea I'm too hyped right now. And to make it worse I have to go to work for 5 hours and then a class for 2 and a half hours. After that I'm running straight over to gamestop where I will probably pass out from sheer excitement.

Gonna use mine on HD rentals of Safety Not Guaranteed and Spiderman. For Amazon it's a shitty promo, but it's still better than nothing. Also the benefit of not paying tax on a 350 dollar console is pretty nice as well.

Forerunner tank is an old joke that I believe originated from the Halo 2 commentary (that came with the Halo 3 LE) where they were talking about how they scrapped a Forerunner Tank, and then joked for a bit about how awesome it was going to be.

Unrelated: if you've hit the daily cap, will you lose any XP earned from Challenges? Anyone who has the game already know, or Frankie/David maybe?

Last I heard about Gamestop's return policy is that that game has to be sealed for you to get a full refund on it. That was a few years ago, so I don't know if their policy is still the same.

As for the LE, it comes with a steel book case rather than a regular sealed version of the game.

I know it is smelling my own farts, but the way the Forward Unto Dawn directors cut works on waypoint console is really nice. I wish Blu rays had a UI that intuitive.

Yep, it's this one, I was hoping that in the two days I wasn't on GAF that there was some other way to get them easily, like how a couple of our great GAFfers got their hands on a ton of Halo 4 Premium theme codes and Bulletproof emblem codes. The site I ordered mine from didn't have any kind of pre-order bonus at all.

Yeah, that Halo 4 game/app where you go around scanning pictures of Doritos bags and you can unlock codes for downloadable stuff like an emblem and the LOCUS helmet skin. US-only though.

Edit: Just found the proper name for it: Halo 4: King of the Hill Fueled by Mtn Dew

Correct. If he wants to return the game it has to still be sealed. So basically he wouldn't be able to play it then return it the next day.

The store can no longer resell it as new, is the reasoning.

Got my copy today from ShopTo, absolutely amazing so far, definitely lives up to the hype - I thought ODST and Reach were kind of lacklustre, but this is definitely a return to form for the series.

Anyone else kind of disappointed by the sound design though? Everything sounds... bad, compared to the old sound effects. The Warthog especially is annoying as shit to drive because of the noise it makes.

Cancelling my order from Amazon was the right move. Some random dude from my school offered to drive me to gamestop tonight. I can taste the hype. I do wish there was a release event in Bellevue or Redmond or Kirkland and not Texas though.

Yeah, the Locus is a pre-order DLC code. I redeemed it already, but I have no idea what store carried it. From the little research I did, it was in Canada.

Rather than go at midnight I've decided to get an early night (like 10 pm) then wake up at the crack of dawn (like 5am) and play the shit out of my copy then.

Plan to start at 5.30 am.
Play 3 hours of mp until 8.30.
Drop my girlfriend off at work and pick breakfast up on way back home.
Get back around 9.30 and play campaign all day until I complete it in one sitting :)

Then spend the rest of the week playing mp and then do co-op legendary over the weekend.

I think I'm doing MP first as well. I always do campaign first, but here at college I don't think I'd really be able to enjoy it and pay attention to the story.

Hopefully I'll be able to steer clear of spoilers until Thanksgiving break, where I can enjoy it at home.
