I hope it already comes with the PC version.

I like the difference in their animations. Dante is swinging for the fences in most all of his attacks, putting him of balance in the recovery animations. Vergil is calm and precise.

man, animations are clunky and 30 fps is extremely noticeable.
will pick up the pc version if its real (probably q3 2013).

I will admit that they botched the debut and the interviews after, which made things even worse for them. If they had more to show and were a bit more open to the fact that this series had a dedicated fanbase, then they would've been better for them. But I'm concerned that too much damage might have been done. I do think the 1.5-2 million sales they have estimated is possible, but I've got doubts. At this point, I'm pretty sure Capcom will be going back to DMC5 even if this game sells well enough, just on the basis of easing fan tension and regaining their core audience, and Ninja Theory already is working on their next couple projects, so they've got work after game already lined up. We'll see, I guess.

I doubt you need to fear that. It isn't like all the pre-release complaints stopped the RE4 era. If it does well, it'll continue.

edit: DmC2 is probably a lock as well since the brand won't have been depleted until DmC releases.

Not yet, they're not mine, but I'm sure she'll do some, I'll post them here if she does. (Paexie made them)

I can honestly say that DmC's Vergil moveset looks a lot cooler than DMC3's Vergil moveset.

Like... much better. That Yamato moveset is godlike.

Afraid I can't say the same about Dante's.

DMC3s Yamato move list was fairly bare bones but it complemented the rest of Vergils arsenal very well. I still dig classical Rapid Slash, Judgment Cut and Upper/Down slash but I like that they are adding more moves to Yamato to flesh it out.

Is it possible for the PC version to get a fanmade rebalance patch? I think that speeding up the game should be no problem, but is a full rebalance possible?

That was an era where Capcom was more willing to support things that weren't mass appeal. Clover studios still existed.

Yes, I think that people will begrudingly switch their pre-orders to Gamestop in order to get the DLC when they shouldn't have to.

So now you're complaining that Capcom is offering this DLC for free? I know gamestop can be magazine rack throwdown stupid sometimes...

Capcom has done some serious stupid shit before with DLC, but I don't think I've ever seen them offer this kind of DLC with an option to get it free. Yes, pre-order sucks - but pre-orders are obviously crucial for any game publisher. On one end you have whoever up top declaring x y and z needs to be done so they generate a profit over the next fiscal year. The nature of Capcom and any game dev is a business. To push pre-order incentives etc. etc. The reaction in this thread is as if people just NOW figured out Capcom is a business watching over it's own ass. Next to all publishers and developers push bullshit pre-orders and DLC, but unfortunately Capcom just set themselves up as an easy target for it's dumbassary.

Again, I also like once more how you revert to "when they shouldn't have to" as if the cost of making this DLC was 0 dollars. It cost money to make, thus the pricing of the DLC. I wish games were free and we were all happy and health insured and we all drove above average Audi's but unfortunately some of the interests of a business is going to clash with consumers. I'm just saying that making it retailer exclusive seems silly. And I've already told you how I feel about pre-release DLC. I think it should be fucking free. I think there's something to be said for appealing to your fanbase and have pro-consumer practices to help your reputation. Capcom just doesn't give a fuck, and is only doing this because they're terrified about what they've done with SFxT.

I agree actually. I never liked using Vergil in DMC3 but this guy looks pretty hype and I second Dahbomb's remark on the underworld environments.

Would be much better if they made it a code available on every new copy. Kinda like a network pass.

I will have to pay extra even though I have the game pre-ordered. Gamespot doesn't exist in Portugal. If it wasn't Vergil I wouldn't even buy the game. I like the character just that much.

It really is. With the new effects its running pretty bad on consoles, but I believe RE6 will look amazing on PC.

DMC4 still looks fantastic:

Well, that is MT Framework 2.5. I'm not sure what the hell happened there, to be honest. It's so hit or miss with textures.

Makes me wonder how people would have reacted if DMC was still made by a new developer, but it was just Vergil. I'm sure people would be pissed either way, but I wonder if it would be less.

And in terms of designs, I always hated Dante and Vergil's, and new Dante looks dumb, but I like new Vergil.

I hope this works out better for my dear friend ezekial than Ninja Gaiden 3 did.
I predict that people in general might be more forgiving, but the ones that don't like the DmC demo are going to melt down. It will be the most polarizing game of 2012, if not the most polarizing game on GAF.

Unfortunately, if they did that Capcom/NT would still be getting their balls handed to them. Some gaffers would say it would violate their Sunshine given right to buy used or some shit.

Well if I had any say, I'd have the Vergil DLC be free to anyone who downloaded and completed the DmC demo. The whole point of the demo is to prove that this DmC, despite all the changes, is still DMC 'but better.' So you obviously want people giving the game a shot, so you promote the demo with that kind of incentive.

They said 10 hours for the main campaign although it's difficult to say for sure. Would be in line with previous DMC games though.

Huh? Ezikial speculates that the next game is going to be DMC5 even if the game does sell well to pacify some core audience. If the game does well it had the mass appeal.

If you're referring to my edit, I'm claiming that DmC will sell well regardless of the quality because it is coming off of DMC4 and getting the push that associated with it. The next game is one that will have suffer from following DmC. If it is indeed bad. It could benefit from following DmC.

I would be ecstatic. Wouldn't even care if it was the DmC version.
Vergil as the main character?

SOLD.

I would actually be in ezekiel's shoes if that happened.

Can't say I'm rather fond of Dante though. He's essentially the same Dante in every way except his looks... but that damn black hair really... irks me. Way more than it should.

Maybe PSASBR can actually make me care less about it.

This seems like the type of game people here will like a lot with it's streamlined controls, colorful environments and heavier emphasis on story. I don't see anything changing with the type of DMC fan who posts and enjoys combo videos on youtube.

Has it been addressed whether or not this DLC makes Vergil playable throughout the entire game or just for the extra missions?

I don't think I saw the Judgement Cut in this video. It seems to be implied that he does use it from a previous trailer though.

I think it was in a different trailer. Maybe I'm just being wishful. But I saw him drop into the JC stance a few times in the OP trailer.

DmC Vergil's slashes seem too... homogenized to me.

One of the neat things about Vergil was that his sword movements were quick and precise. A lot of the time, the blade moved faster than you could see, resulting in a staggered movement of slow stance, then blindingly fast slash.

Ezekiel, when the game comes out, will you recreate TheHandvsEye?

I thought that was LHK, not Ezekial.

Giving Vergil like that is asking way too much though. No sane developer would do that.

But had Capcom done a network pass type of dlc and people still gave Capcom shit... well I'd tell them to f*** off.

There was Judgment Cut in the video but its the DMC4 version with the cut slices all over the place as opposed to the orb. Hopefully we have the orb slice to as it had unique properties.

At the very least, the main game should get a higher metacritic score than RE6.

It's there, just Dante's version with Dark Slayer in DMC4.

They should really just try for this first (there's nothing that's been shown so far to suggest that this game is in any way better than what came before it).

Well that's assuring. I liked the orb version more, but I thought the one in dmc4 was fine. I just hope this DLC campaign is like RE5's DLC in terms of quality. That shit was dope.

pretty sure it's extra missions.

I'll probably spend more time on them than the main game.
Vergil makes me buy games. I bought the SE of dmc3 just to play as him. My most repeated mission by far was mission 19 in dmc3. I bought UMvC3 just because of him. I'm now buying DmC because of him.

I don't even care that I have to pay extra for the dlc.

So I can wait for bomba price and get the game + DLC for like $25 or get it by preordering the game for $60 + tax? Decisions, decisions.

Last I played, the combat system was completely broken. I'm just keeping quiet about it at the moment with hopes that they turned it around.

Capcom also has no marketing or PR sense anymore. At all. It' like they don't think things through before they announce/talk about thigns. They should know that DLC and Capcom are two words that should not go together.

They could have spun this completely in a different direction that makes it seem more consumer friendly. Free content for pre-orders (which is probably more of a common practice with publishers now than DLC is). And just left the DLC part out and then announce it well after the game is already out for those who purchase the game late or never cared to pre-order.
