Everything that happened in this trailer is just a hallucination mindfuck that happens to Big Boss in Ground Zeroes.

The only unexplainable thing is Psycho Mantis, but I wouldn't be surprised if Kojima introduces an expy of him for this.

It can't be real, it has to be a hallucination. If it's Big Boss, then he's aging and it must be in the mid-1970s or later (and he never lost an arm unless they suddenly decided to make up that tidbit for no reason). Volgin died in 1964. Psycho Mantis was born around 1970, so it can't be him unless they retcon him to be like 20 years older.
Damn dude

We need a military expert to date that helicopter.

Dude, this is a guy that just created a fake studio, fake CEO, fake game... just to fuck with us.

Don't put serious thought into figuring out what part of the game this is. He also edited trailers to hide Raiden. Never forget.

The game is real, I'm convinced. But all the chars may have been 'raidened' for this trailer.

Hmm. Did they not also announce in the pre-show some kind of puzzle that would happen during the show? Like... people would have to figure it out? They said people had seen it prior to the show and said it was weird shit. Phantom Pain could well be that? Giant flying flaming whales is as weird as you can get.

Volgin is the worst antagonist in any MGS game

Yeah, Geoff said there was a puzzle for people. This is clearly it.

Damn dude

But on the other hand, the last time I said "it can't be that character in this MGS game, we already know their backstory and it completely conflicts with this game," it was Portable Ops and Gray Fox's MG2 backstory got completely retconned into Raiden: The Prequel so what do I know

The VGAs just officially congratulated Konami and Kojima on 25 years of Metal Gear Solid and got a shot of Kojima in the audience before going to commercials.

Hail, peons, for I have come as ambassador from the great and bountiful Blueberry Butt Explosion
It being Kojima explains why I loved the trailer so much. Shit was dark as fuck. I actually found it pretty unsettling.

What Metal Gear characters are from the UK? Hallucination or not that British flag was important imo.

Frank Jaeger?

Liquid was raised in the UK, and served in the SAS.

It could be that Big Boss gets injured badly at some point in the game and requires surgery. There was a pic floating around of surgical tools from either Kojima's twitter or some other Konami source of them doing recording sessions for sound effects for an upcoming game. Specifically called a surgery scene, but some people thought it could be for Rising. Was Konami doing the Rising cut scenes? If not it was probably for Ground Zeroes. There was also a pic of what seemed to be women in nurses' uniforms from one of the earliest FOX engine shots. So this could just be a crazy trailer using assets they've made for Ground Zeroes, just Kojima having fun with something crazy.

what? :(

I really liked him.

"Kuwabara, Kuwabara"

He's like a bad fighting game villain

He's a 1 dimensional sociopath who just fucks and kills whoever and whatever he wants in his game because he's the strongest man alive and super rich and powerful. I mean at the very least Solidus and Liquid at least had believable motivations for thier actions.

So I hate when any other games try to bring him back in the canon. I thought it was dumb when PO suggested that his spontaneous and selfish decision to fire the Davy Crockett on his own base was a deliberate action apart of a bigger scheme to intentionally frame The Boss

and if they try to insert him into Ground Zeroes story in any way I'll hate that too
